Still don't really see the benefits with all the added complexity. A deep dive (well as deep as you can go) would be awesome.

I think the brightest future for electric car design would be if they go with a retro futuristic aesthetic. It makes for some really beautiful designs, and they feel familiar. They look more like a car than 90% of the other new all-electric cars on the market right now.

If you asked me 10 years ago whether I'd ever drive a Hyundai I would have laughed. Fast forward to present day and I now have a 2022 i30 N Sedan in the garage and a 2023 Palisade on order for the other half. If they continue down this path, I'm sure we'll be sticking with the brand long term 👍🏼

I sincerely hope this makes it to market - I don't even care if they have to downgrade it to a gasoline engine to make it financially viable for production, I just love the retro future styling. It legitimately looks like something out of Ghost in the Shell.
The car is probably designed from the bottom up to be a electric/hydrogen car, probably wouldn't be easy to convert. Maybe it wouldn't be bad. What do I know.
I am amazed how they can package an 85Kw fuel cell, 4kg of H2 as well as all the batteries, inverters and cooling!!! OMG........it's the best-looking car I have seen in ages!!!!!!!!!
An 85 Kw fuel cell is going to weigh a lot ( looking up a known brand puts the fuel cell itself in the 250 kg area, needing an additional 100kg or so of cooling equipment according to them). But overall i'd agree. I'd guess that for a commuter type car, something like a 30-40Kw fuel cell would suffice to keep say a 10KwH battery topped off
@@n2o_spark You need about a 15-20kwh battery to have enough power to push such a heavy vehicle. Such a bigger battery + hydrogen fuel cell system would be bulky and heavy not mass efficient at all. The only true weight saving method is Over 4 miles per kwh efficient vehicle and energy dense battery pack. That means a 75kwh battery that weighs 800 lbs ~ 362kg in a specialized chassis that is also light weight. Two power trains is not going to achieve lightness.
FYI A Toyota Mirai with a 1.6kwh (one point six) lithium ion battery weighs 1.9 Tonnes. That is how amazingly weight efficient H2 Fuel Cell systems are.
My call is. I don't see a lot of similarity with the 76 Pony Hyundai concept car, that Hyundai claim (Giugiaro design). But a lot more similarity to the Lancia 037 Road Car Lancia co-designed with Pininfarina (Ferrari's greatest designer). I see more Pininfarina lines, that Giugiaro ones!!
They really need to get this to production. They keep improving on this concept, this could be a gamechanger for Hyundai. Making electric cars that still have the spirit of mechanical combustion engines will be a big, big deal, and other auto manufacturers would follow right afterwards.
It's certainly got a cyberpunk look to it. I know it's going to take awhile but I cannot wait for newer generation of battery technology, like the introduction of using materials like sulphur to reduce manufacturing costs. Great video.

I thought Toyota had the best technology in hydrogen cars. However, after watching N Vision 74, I realized that Hyundai is the best in this field. I want the N Vision 74 to be released as an electric car because other countries don't have hydrogen charging infrastructure as well as Japan and South Korea.

This is what ALL electric Cars should look like, brilliant, stunning. NOT THE CURRENT fleet of boring (with exception of kia and Hyundai) boxes. I HAVE harped on to so many people that hydrogen fuel cells is where we should be heading, NOT digging up lithium form the ground which is worse than petrol.
I think you'd be disappointed to learn that the major source of hydrogen used in these hybrid electric vehicles is the waste byproduct of processing fossil fuels, if we come to establish a hydrogen future we will not solve the climate crisis currently afflicting us and just add to the dependency of fossil fuels even further. Were we to establish a nuclear energy infrastructure (or hopefully fusion infrastructure) this wouldn't be an issue as that would make producing hydrogen through electrolysis far more economically viable and not harmful to the environment it would be orders of magnitude worse for the environment to go down this path right now than to merely continue lithium extraction in the short term since the main qualms of lithium extraction is the unethical forced labor used and less so the environmental impact die to it being more of a localized ecological issue rather than the worsening of greenhouse gasses that'll affect the earth entirely BOTH are bad, and there are proposed solutions for both, putting all our eggs in a single basket when it comes to energy dependency is a bad idea, ideally you'd like to have all manner of environmentally friendly energy options I do apologize for how long this jumble of words ended up being, I'm equally passionate about the impact of our energy needs and we definitely need to stray away from the use of fossil fuels as a whole, hydrogen production is currently not carbon neutral yet.
Scrapped Hyundai Coupe 74 which this is inspired was designed by the same person who designed Delorean. They share the same design DNA. Hence the resemblence.

The Hyundai Pony I remember this car very well, The Netherlands was the first western nation they did an export deal with, no reviews, was it any good? rear wheel drive car, very cheap, only competition was the LADA and Fiat 600. NVision 74 is the same car, only GOOD now! Guess i was wrong back then, it was not that ugly? i can refuel it here, and recharge at home, wow! Now we need to get this tech on the market, as $30.000 cars? Buy the original Pony for $ 7.900, including some inflation.
Wide spread distribution network of H2 consumers is not even plausible. The hydrogen FC cars may work fine but that is pointless when the fuel supply does not exist. The only plausible method solid or liquid material methods of delivering H2 like from Ammonia. But H2 is a physically implausible.
This is also a testament for Rimac's excellent technology. When such a huge automobile producer, takes your tech in arguably their most important prototype, it means something !

Hydrogen only provides 20% of the power, the majority is from the battery.
Outside of all the bleeding edge tech, this is one of the most beautiful cars ever made.

as a fan of films i could see this car in any 80s 90s flick and beyond this is timeless. the district 9, Elysium styling is so slick Neil Blomkamp had a voice in this no doubt

I don't think hydrogren will be a big player on road cars but... this might be the future of motorsport.
Wide spread distribution network of H2 consumers is not even plausible. The hydrogen FC cars may work fine but that is pointless when the fuel supply does not exist.
The only plausible method solid or liquid material methods of delivering H2 like from Ammonia. But H2 is a physically implausible.
