Thank you for another great reaction to Geoff. There is a 15 minute film called Big Iron. It's worth watching. You will see who the Arizona Ranger is at the end.
Geoff also wrote the bridges between the verses that were not present in the original song.
What a Voice 😳
Holding a deep bass note for any extended length of time requires some phenomenal breath control.
It really does and he has it and more.
I loved the choice to pause for a moment after the 'big iron on his hip' line following the gun battle. It's such a subtle thing that paints a picture of the shocked silence of the townsfolk at seeing Texas Red finally brought down.
He's always so good at these storytelling songs!
I’ve been waiting for you to react to this, I love the pacing he does for this song specifically, the slight push ahead of the tempo really adds to the whole vibe.
Hey nice to hear from you again. I really wish I could do this all day every day but I’ve got a full time job teaching kids how to play instruments. Maybe soon I’ll be retired and can get to more videos quicker. Thanks!

Idk if this has been suggested but this is a very popular song here in Sweden and I’d love for you to react to it sometime soon!
Love it, Bob. I could listen to you praise Geoff's technique all day. Thanks for such an uplifting reaction
Thanks Marie! Geoff makes it easy. He’s so good.
Heck yeah that’s my band Teacher!!
What a great reaction! Real addition to the video. Thanks. Geoff's voice in this was sensational. Can wait for you to react to his Song of Durin.
Thanks for thr kind words! I’ve got it in the list and hope to get to it soon.
Geoffs scripts for his clones, gestures and what directions to look at etc, are getting more complex. Production manager Kathy showed the one for his latest, Song of Durin, in the BTS for the patreons. His attention to details in his pruductions is meticiolous and pay off in the end result. So good.
It sure does pay off.
I saw that and it was interesting all they have to do to get this right. Look over here now. Look up now, etc, etc. The details they think about and get right is amazing.
Geoff did a cover of don't mess around with Jim and it sounds so good you should check that out. He also released the song of Durin which sends you to another Realm. It's such a fantastic cover
I’ve got it on the list to check out. Thanks.
Geoff released his newest video last Saturday the 21st...... Song of Durin.
He brought back his 4 dwarves... Filli, Thorin, Killi and Bofur. And added another... Gimli.
It is absolutely gorgeous.
Voiceplay released their newest video Friday the 27th.... Be Prepared from Lion King.
It is fantastic and Geoff makes a perfect Scar.
Voiceplay posted their Halloween video on their Patreon yesterday. It is scary yet fun.
Thanks for all of the info! I’ll be checking those out soon. Thanks!

You're very welcome 🤗
Geoff did a great job , as usual. Yep he can get looooowww. lol
Did you know that the original artist, Marty Robbins, was also a NASCAR driver? He drove in 35 Grand National/Winston Cup races between 1966 and 1982.
When you come back to Geoff, suggest his version of "16 Tons", the song made famous by Tennessee Ernie Ford.
I did not know that about Marty Robbins being a NASCAR driver. That’s interesting. I’ll be checking out more of his stuff. I like it and he’s incredible.
I knew this from a Marty Robbins album when dad let me play the stereo when I was maybe 11 or 12. Geoff just made this his own and it's magic. A couple of my other reactors wanted to know why the middle Geoff got the good chair. It was a big chair that hid the projector putting up the pictures behind the Geoff's. By the way, go do a reaction on Geoff's Song of Durin from The Lord of the Rings. Geoff built the casket for that scene.
Thanks I’ll check it out.
I love the story-telling folk songs, but Geoff just slays them. His artistic vision is as astonishing as his voice.....well, almost. He is fantastic! There are several basses who can sing lower than Geoff, but it is the richness and sweetness of his tone. Well, most of the time. You haven't reacted to Voiceplay's most recent, Be Prepared from the Lion King.
Really enjoy your reactions!!
Bob will love be prepared!
Thanks! I saw it was out and added it to the list.
That final long note from Geoff is an E1 subharmonic, which is the same note he hit at the end of Oogie Boogie's Song.
Subharmonic techniques are what has allowed Geoff to go that little bit deeper. If I'm not mistaken, there was maybe one subharmonic note, fairly early on in the song. But he's able to hit nearly everything he needs in chest, so except in some BVs for VoicePlay I don't recall him doing a lot of subs lately. His range just keeps on spreading wider; I love that he always utilizes his upper register in his covers, maintaining that top end even as his voice drops lower with age (don't tell him I said anything about his age!).
lol I sure won’t.
That low note was the same E1 as the last note in Oogie Boogie, but with a couple more years of doing subharmonics under his belt.
It made all the difference Karen. Hard work always pays off
Oh yeah, that's a voice alright.
One of a kind Geoff 😉. Love this one! 🌹🕊
Enjoying this reaction. I try to catch all of the reactions to VoicePlay or Geoff's solo releases. Geoff included this song on his recent "Dusty Old Songs" CD available to order on his website. Apparently initial orders kept Geoff and Kathy busy.
This was sooo good. His voice in unbelievable.
@@bobcieslinski I agree. Family members introduced me to VoicePlay/Geoff in May and I haven't looked back.
I love bass singers. Joey introduced me to Jeff.
Me too! Geoff’s voice is so sick. I wish I could hit those notes.
I don't know how many times I chuckled during this song, especially that last low note. Add in those great harmonies and a great ol' song and really a great time listening. I agree with Chris, I've heard the 16 Tons, quite well done. Gotta give him props for the many takes it took to put the video together plus the creativity! Nice review too Bob, thanks!!
Thanks Guy! Those low notes are just crazy. Great song too.
I wasn't familiar with this before Geoff. Now, this one's a fun playlist addition.
I’m enjoying it too Holly.
Marty Robbins would be proud of Jeff's cover especially the changes.
He would be.
Outstanding! Geoffs' added lyrics make this song so much better. I remember listening to this Marty Robins song on my AM radio back in the '60s. His newest is Song of Durin showing off all his range.
I’ll have to check it out.
I always think the bridges he writes for songs are the best parts of the song. He just has a special touch with that.
You need to react to “Kung fu” by saint lio i would love to see your reaction
Thank you for making my day a better day with your reaction/analysis! I'm really happy to see more Geoff/VP videos on your channel again! 🥰Bald greetings! (referring to the survey the other day)😉😊
lol you thanks for chiming in. I appreciate the kind words thank you for making my day!

I’ve got it on the list. Might be able to record it this weekend.
Yep- I'm in awe too. Geoff is amazing!
