I am a firefighter/EMT, and your cover has truly...stuck with me. I listen to it everyday, brings me to tears every time I listen. Through all the fires, trauma, emergencies, nightmares...every experience I have encountered as a first responder becomes a distant and fleeting memory. THANK YOU for your gift ❤ I am beginning to open up more to my family about things...all because of your gift to the world. Your music is a saving grace 😭😔😇 thank you...from the bottom of my heart...thank you........
The original was the song of a bard. A bard's lament for the desolation to come. This is the song of a warrior: A warrior's resolve to stand with his brothers and look the dragon in the eye. Fearing only the oblivion of being forgotten. Hoping that there are those who will hear and remember. 🔥
I survived the California wildfires of 2017, 2019, and 2021. Ed Sheeran singing this never made anything happen for me, but hearing this cover suddenly I was back in those hills, trying to drive away from a wall of fire that to this day I think looked exactly like a golden snake travelling sideways down the grass. I can smell this song. Honestly I think the deep bass cover is way truer to the feeling of that. Call it moving to say the least! Thank you for this.
Wow! Thank you for sharing. What a beautiful/scary experience. Songs have such a powerful effect on us indeed, especially the way it brings up memories so poignantly.
You make it sound like you were one of the lucky few to return from war. Almost 40 million people live in California and those wildfires claimed 3 lives each. That's a survival rate of 99.999993
I'm not sitting here bawling my eyes out. My daddy was a bass. While singing hymns in church he would occasionally nudge me, and switch to soprano to match me. He'd sing with me until he made me giggle. Then without missing a note go back to bass. It's been a while since something made me miss him this much.😭🤧
You’ll find him one day in God’s Choir. I’ll be in the soprano section. Bless your heart ((gentle pure hug)). As a Daddy’s Girl also I lost mine in 2021. There’s a hole in our earth.
Geoff, I’m an opera tenor from Norway. Especially from my 11 y.o. Thank you for bringing so many smiles, so much enjoyment and regular old OMG!’s into our life. Smiling from ear to ear The DM’s
This will probably be the dumbest comment you have ever received so I truly apologize. But this song cover has impacted me more than I've ever truly realized. I was very very very close to doing something to myself that if I failed I would never recover from and I was listening to music and this cover came on and for the first time in so so long I felt like I was calm and I listened to every work and i understood everything I heard and honestly I have never cried so hard in my life. Idk why but it hit me like train and after thinking about it I've felt better than I ever have in my life. We all go through the fire. It just depends on how we come out in the end and how far we let the flames burn us. And I thank God every day for this. Again I'm sorry for how corny this is but fuck I haven't ever felt like I did when I first heard this
The struggles are real. Keep strong even when in the midst of your darkest time, know that there is a light. Being one has walked that path many times myself. All things happen for a reason. The good or the bad.
I am immediately drawn to a book i read in English class. "The 5 people you meet in heaven" Read it, or watch the movie by the same name. The ending is words you need to hear. Whether or not you feel like a failure to something, you have saved hundreds. You have saved more people than you believe. You have affe ted the daily lives of hundreds of people's, and been a part of thousands. Take your life in strides. You are worthwhile. Even if we never meet, lock eyes, touch, or speak face to face. I love you brother. And I know damn well that you are loved by many more people than me. Whether or not you feel cold an dead inside. You have life in you. And you have fight. And you will keep fighting to survive as we all do. Your life is worth the battles you must suffer through in order to live it. I hope you have gotten better as time has passed. And I hope you take my opinions to heart. You are loved. And you are worth every breath you draw. You are amazing. Keep killing it brother.
Fun fact, the reason for this working, its the deep voice. I'll explain, the infants ears work months before birth. He can remember. After birth, this new world seems foreign and not as comfortable, the deep voice sounds like the muffled sounds an infant hears in the womb. Same way holding a newborn and bobimg them up can stop them crying. The later example simulates a mom walking and the way the infant would bob up and down in the womb.
Works everytime. Had many moms with a screaming baby. Always tell them there is a trick: take it into your arms and produce the deepest humming possible. Something about that vibration.
If they redo the Hobbit films, Geoff should be the voice of Smaug. His deep, booming voice is perfect for the role. This song was already good, now it's on a whole new level.
Geoff as smaug would be amazing ! I can't wait to see what he did with the song. I'm so excited to react to it. Wish I could fast forward to tomorrow 😂😂😂
Hmmm...no. Benedict C. is Smaug. BUT if the Balrog would tell how he came to be... THAT would be awsome in Geoff's voice... who is going to write this story!??🎉😂❤
I remember it well: It was late last September, and there was a chill in the air. I wandered the misty streets of UA-cam, looking for something I couldn't quite articulate. Then I saw him. He intoned ominous prophecies of fire and death in a subterranean voice that rattled the depths of my soul. I looked into those eight beautiful eyes and knew: I would never escape.
Only by the last seconds of this video I got that this four guys were only one... Not only the voices but the facial expression (which I guess come together) make this a master piece. What a talent.
It was fun playing identify the dwarf while he sang. From left to right: Kili with his bow and largely beardless, Bofur with his fingerless gloves, hatchet, mattock and curly mustache, Fili with his braided mustache, slightly lighter hair and dagger, and then Thorin with his beard, hair beads, key to Erebor and Orchrist at hand. Also the clear inspiration to Mirkwood in the staging. The attention to detail in the video is just the cherry on top to the delightful sundae that is Mr. Geoff Castellucci's singing!
Misty Mountains was my first introduction to Geoff (which then led to Voiceplay) and to see another dwarven song sung by the sons of Durin... We need more of this in our lives
Kind of tangential, but if you like Dwarvish music, you should check out Clamavi de Profundis. Geoff covers the popular songs out of the movies, which is *great,* but this group sings Tolkien’s original poetry. They’re a family singing group who’ve arranged a lot of songs and ballads from LotR, and they’re definitely worth a listen.
@@lachimiste1That was the first time I heard his amazing voice as well. I love new versions of nerdy songs and especially Tolkien. But now I HAVE to blast Geoff through my car's speakers. Freaking amazing voice.
Really? I noticed some of the guys dont really seem to be singing based on their facial movements but didn't realize this was all Geoffrey? Thought he was just the main bass. Well In any case bravo
Thanks! For a few minutes I was annoyed that he didn't give credit in the Description to the other 3 guys. I especially enjoyed the 3rd from the left. Well... now I know. :D
@@tReadYTall of his videos are him and him alone. He has incredible range. He calls himself a baritone bass, and can produce subharmonics (a singing skill where you actually sing a certain note but it drops it an octave) for his lowest notes, but can go into tenor range pretty well too.
It might be from the Desolation of Smaug, but this is a Return of the King(s). 👑 Absolutely killed it, Geoff - and I don't mean with all of those very pointy weapons either! I’m so in love with what you did with this one... beautifully melancholic.
I've been a fan of Geoff's for a few years now, and I'm very familar with this song and so many great arrangements. That being said, going into this I had a pretty good idea how awesome this would be. Still, I literally had goosebumps!
@GeoffCastellucci You are getting closer to a real basso profundo. I don't even do subharmonics anymore because my chest voice is lower than my subharmonics which is weird my range is A0 to E4.
As a wildfire lookout, this song has so much more meaning to me than just a good song from a movie. I sing it often up in my tower. I truly appreciate you making these covers. Having a lower end voice myself, often times singing along with the original songs, just sound off.
Your job is so very important. Fun fact: in high school they gave us a test to see what job would be best, and I ended up with "park ranger or forest fire lookout." I lived in East LA at the time, so it confused all the teachers, haha! I now live near a forest in the Pacific Northwest, and I greatly respect those who work to preserve it.
As a city department fireman in the states, I have so much respect for our Wildland brethren. You guys are the real badass guys and gals, you protect civilization, nature, and lives of everything that lives. Stay safe friend!
At July, a week before my birthday, I had a motorcycle accident. My father were driving and I've been projected head first on another car. If the car wasn't there at this moment, I would have hit the ground and I won't be able to post today. During the choc, I had this song in my head playing again and again. Because the pain in my body was litterally fire. il felt fire in my body, also in my soul to fight to live, fight for my life. This song helpt me. I remember the moment I first wake up in my legs with the chorus, so powerful it was. It endend with the final "fire" when I was standing tall, all alone. I'm proud of this moment, proud to be alive and you helpt me to reach that point. I want to say thank you !
My two favorite moments of the song: 1:20 ‘raise a glass of wine’ (the run), and the harmonies on ‘for the last time’ 😍 - I'm just melting 1:54 ‘now I see fire’ - the fire crackling sound and the piano, gorgeous! but the whole arrangement, vocals and video are just wonderful! ❤
You should really try the taste of mead, (wine made from honey) before you die. (Sorry, but I don’t recall the name of the movie I stole that from. Before I corrupted it.)
Not only was the range of voice amazing but you captured 4 different people singing. Mannerisms and voices themselves. It didnt sound like the same person in all the dfferent octaves. The timber changed as well making unique individuals. Wow!
Ok but can we take just a second to talk about how damn good the outfits, makeup, and hair are? Like...damn. About to go take the mountain with Thorin.
We see Kathy's creativity and attention to detail in everything they produce. Quietly, behind the scenes her collaboration and support helps bring to life the musical creations that mean so much to us. They have a true partnership and we reap the benefit ☺️🤟❤️
These few lines are now just an artist's vision while listening to the song. The world can be tough... Geoff's voice is the strength, purity and fabulous magic that protects you from it and guides you to the light. Thanks for this trip and the wonderful experience! 💚🔥
Smaug Castellucci has returned with a voice that sounds like honey poured over thunder. Let Durin's sons carry your hearts to the deepest mines of Moria and the highest peak of Erebor, because this is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
It floors me that he's able to sing in the bass range and the tenor range, and every range in between, all in the same song. That's just so unusual - and his pitch is mindblowingly good. I can't sing worth a damn but I have excellent pitch and even slight deviations grate-and there's no grating in here. And the super-low notes are CLEAN. That's what is so monumental about his voice. There's no wavering or grinding, which you hear when someone is reaching too far for a note. He makes it look & sound so easy!
This actually made me watch it over n over to finally realize that even though all 4 parts were different registers it was all Geoff... dear God this man has such an incredible range n an amazing talent I am as always impressed and in awe of his voice
Yep. Geoff specializes in layering his 5-octave voice, using 4-5 "clones" to be his own choir, and he does all of this himself. I hope you enjoy other songs of his.
Ok, im new here but took me rewatching this like 3 times to realise that wasn't 4 different people.. the makeup, costumes and filming were done so well.
I used to think..Omg..he's one of a set of quadruplets..then I saddly found out he's not...BUT WOW!!!!!! WHAT A VOICE!!!! A NATURAL.NATIONAL TREASURE!!!!
Geoff has, I think I hear, 5 octaves. An incredibly talented man. Just think. It isn't just his voice at work here. The whole package is Geoff. Must take at least 4 of him to do everything involved in making this video.
YES! THAT WAS SO GOOD! I loved how the character of each of the dwarves really came through in the performance, and there were moments that seriously gave me chills. Excellent job, and now I must go tell my Tolkien obsessed sisters of the amazingness you've done.
I absolutely love Geoff’s range. To be able to sing so many parts and create such beautiful harmonies is exactly what music is meant to be. It’s beautiful and being so much joy to my ears. Great job!!
This tore and ripped into my soul. Suddenly memories of my uncle came rushing in. Oh what he must have seen and endured in the jungles of Vietnam. He returned a strong survivor., Only to later be afflicted by the scurge of Agent Orange. Which took him from us in the season of what should have been a man's prime. He fought his long battle with the cancers. And died at 40. RIP Brave Heart. I will always remember.
I love how there is this classic voice range division represented as separate characters. There are the bearded guys (from the left) : tenor, baritone and bass and natural Geoff
I absolutely love how you have such vocal range you can play 4 completely different roles in the same song, and your characters you make for the videos are a great way to showcase it.
I don't know if anybody else noticed this, but on the hum at 3:15, all the Geoffs move their heads in sync to their left and I thought that was cool. Oh and the song and is pretty cool too. In all seriousness, I think we all need to appreciate Geoff's vocal talent, arrangement skills, and his team's video production as well. It all deserves so much more flowers, and cookies, and all that fuzzy stuff
Lyrics: [Intro] Oh, misty eye of the mountain below Keep careful watch of my brothers' souls And should the sky be filled with fire and smoke Keep watching over Durin's sons [Verse 1] If this is to end in fire, then we should all burn together Watch the flames climb high into the night Callin' out, Father, oh, stand by and we will Watch the flames burn auburn on the mountainside high [Verse 2] And if we should die tonight, we should all die together Raise a glass of wine for the last time Callin' out, Father, oh, prepare as we will Watch the flames burn auburn on the mountainside Desolation comes upon the sky [Chorus] Now, I see fire inside the mountain I see fire burnin' the trees And I see fire hollowin' souls I see fire, blood in the breeze And I hope that you'll remember me [Verse 3] Oh, should my people fall then surely, I'll do the same Confined in mountain halls, we got too close to the flame Callin' out, Father, oh, hold fast and we will Watch the flames burn auburn on the mountainside Desolation comes upon the sky [Chorus] Now, I see fire inside the mountain I see fire burnin' the trees And I see fire hollowin' souls I see fire, blood in the breeze And I hope that you'll remember me [Bridge] And if the night is burning, I will cover my eyes For if the dark returns, then my brothers will die And as the sky's fallin' down, it crashed into this lonely town And with that shadow upon the ground, I hear my people screamin' out [Chorus] Now, I see fire inside the mountains I see fire burnin' the trees I see fire hollowin' souls I see fire, blood in the breeze And I hope that you'll remember me And I hope that you'll remember me And I hope that you'll remember..
Sir Geoff, This actually brought a few tears to my old eyes. While I am 6 ft. tall, I highly Identify with Dwarves and Especially Tolkien Dwarves! This one really spoke to me, from the complete arrangement to the incredible highs ad lows you can maintain, I felt for my fellows, in your 4 faces and More! Thanks you SO very Much!
Geoff has an incredible talent. Truely one of the greats of the third age. Have to give it up to the hair/makeup/costume department though. I was legitimately confused why the other 3 singers were uncredited the first time I saw it.
As a former firefighter & LEO, native to the 1/2- charred Northern Calif State, this song strikes me differently... personally. I'm in tears. I think of friends lost "in the line" & I see a different story art here: a "special edition," if you will. One where Mr. Castellucci (& his clones) are dressed in wildland ff gear, at a basecamp, tired, dirty, trying to catch up on sleep, food & fire updates b4 using their gear to catch a few winks b4 heading back out on the lines. They're discussing the standard "You go, we go," in the song, & we'll go down fighting (as the mountain & towns are burning). When the lyric says "we should toast our last wine" (or whatever, I'm usually having trouble by then), one "clone" raises his water canteen. 2 others try 2 do the same, & the fourth, with a nearly empty sports drink bottle practically dangling between his legs, barely thrusts it forward in a show of solidarity, but a lack of energy. I see the ending in 2 possible ways: 1). The men are still in camp, agreeing to remember each other (should one or more fall), until the "primary" Mr Castelucci looks directly at the camera with the final: " And I hope you will remember." A question to the audience. Or 2). Our heros are back out on the lines, the winds have shifted, & the fire is headed back at the 4-man fire crew. They have seconds to dig a trench, get out their fire covers & cover themselves to save themselves. A similar interaction to scenario 1 ensues as they ask each other to remember & cover themselves, just as "primary" Mr Castelucci looks directly at the camera, the last to cover his face, belts out in his incedible voice, "And I hope that you remember..." sheilds himself, & there's a flash of orange & red. End scene. Possibly interspersed with this could be scenes from some of the horrific wildland fires in this country alone, mountains, literally on fire, impossible to access by ground, scenes of entire towns lost to flames... melted children's toys in front yards, during some of the more instrumental portions. Obviously, I'm no editor or director. But having gone through it: HIS voice, HIS song, HIS music direction... have already put a pit in my stomach from both beauty & pain...
My apologies: the lyric is: "Raise a glass of wine for the last time." When listening to music like this for me, it's often more about the feel; the effect of the music rather than my memorizing each detail. Mr Castellucci transports the audience to another world with his technical skill combined with his God- given (or genetic, if you prefer) tools/ instruments, extraordinary HARD work, & his ART! He's managed to find & surround himself with equally skilled technicians & crafts- persons who truly showcase his gifts to the world. As an utter amateur (on the opposite end of the register/ a soprano) who has never done what he does, I can only stand in awe & admiration, as SOOO many others do! It's just a darned good thing we're married! ... just a shame it's not to each other... jk! (Platonic) Love & Admiration- c.
You are truly talented. It always amazes me that one person can change their voice like you do but also their personality to portray the characters you represent in each song. Great job!!! 👍👍👍
I hope that I was not the only one crying to this, especially with those harmonies and when all his four parts started singing my tears could not hold back and I feel really embarrassed because this is the first time that I ever cried in-front of my girlfriend. Geoff, if you ever see this comment, out of all your songs this is officially my most favorite and the only song that ever made me cry this hard. But I still love you either way and hope you are doing good.
"And should the sky be filled with fire and smoke" 🎶 Well, the sky is certainly filled with smoke. Best wishes to all those dealing with the wildfires up in Canada. 💙
Mr Castellucci, your rendition of this song is like a comforting fireplace on a cold night. Or that quiet moment by the campfire on the eve of a decisive battle. It inspires both calm and courage. I love everything about it!
Whoa. Here I am again, listening. Still touched by this. "Would you fight to the death, for that which you love? In a cause surely hopeless, for that which you love..?" 😟💖
Amazing song and amazing performance. Easily one of my favorites. As a Combat Veteran it brings me a bit of peace to things you sometimes do not want to remember.
After a "few" listens I still don't know if Dungeon- Darryl, beautiful Bariton-Geoff or transcending Tennor- Jeff is my favorite - because they are obviously different people, just equally amazing. I love that the song is different from Misty Mountains. It is an end credit and not in the movie song and the pop-ish feeling is great, the haunting piano and the ambience is just *Geoffs kiss* 😗👌 Thank you for the amazing arrangement, the storytelling (the amount of work that went into this video - costume queen Kathy for the win) all the teary eyes and goosebumps. That was quite the journey so far. We don't have to wait two more years for the next dwarfelucci singoff in the woods right? Maybe a Smaug and Darryl vocal battle in the mountains, next? Layne and Toni probaply have some more extra rocks. Your nerdy and old&boring patron. Aaaaand back to this earworm. Now I see fire Inside your vocals And I see fire In both tenor and bass I see fiiihiiihiiiiiire Huge following fanbase I see fiiihiiihiiiiiiiiire And queen Kathy with grace Just know that we'll remember this
First of all Geoff, bravo bravo. As a patron I’ve had early access to this and like others I’ve watched it numerous times. It took me 6-10 views just to get past “wow, pretty” (which to be honest it is). But what I appreciate even more than the amazing vocals is the arrangement. It would have been so easy to simply key change this into the “bass”ment, or use it as a five minute flex for the upper range. The use of bass, baritone, bari-tenor, and tenor parts gave so much nuance and variety. I loved The fact that each “soloist” gets a chance to shine. And the decision to literally give each part a “different face” was genius.
What a range! Obviously Geoff can easily sing the Bass and Baritone parts, but he sang the 1st and 2nd Tenor parts with ease! I am constantly amazed by his talent!
Hm. To tell you the truth, I realized there is only one performer behind that great range after about the fifth watching... Geoff, you are marvelous! Keep rewatching it from time to time... Thanks a lot!!!
one of my moms fav music, she passed away 5 months ago.... she would love to have heard this song.... it makes me smile listening to this and thinking of her reaction..... thank you.. you guys have the most wonderfull voices.
As someone who has read the LOTR more times than I can count, hearing how perfectly you interpreted the tone of the song made me cry the first time I listened. Gimli is singing this song while they are walking through the destroyed Dwarven city and you can hear that in your voice. It's beautiful, haunting, and my favorite piece you have ever done. Thank you for doing this song justice!
This is one of the greatest covers ever! The different pitches make the song so much better, plus Geoff's voice when he sings is incomparable. So much better than the original!
What a beauty... Now I'll have to re-read the book. ❤ Kudos to Eli for the lighting, it's beautiful... And thanks to Layne and Tony as Pattycake Productions, plus all the other persons involved, and the Patreons, and any other person without whom this video would not have been possible. And of course, thank you, Geoff. Another beautiful song, that goes right with Misty Mountains in my heart list. ❤
Listening to this reminds me of the wildfire I experianced as a teen. I was at school but wasnt allowed to go home. I didnt know where my parents and little sister were or if they were alright. There were fine. Late that night we were allowed to go in to get belongings. Im almost 60 and I will never forget the trees still burning glowing on both sides of the road. Thank you for the beautiful music.
I love how much Geoff featured his upper registers on this one! Everyone expects the low bass notes from Geoff, but it still amazes me just how GOOD his higher notes are.
At this point I've watched this vid several dozens times. And only just now, after randomly checking comments, did I realize this is all Geoff! I was even annoyed that the other singers weren't credited in the details. I wanted to see all their work. Turns out I already have lol.
This is such a gorgeous cover of this song. As I listen to it, all I can think about are the wildfires burning in Canada and everyone who is in harm’s way tonight. My heart breaks for them; even hundreds of miles away in Boston, I can smell their beautiful forests burning. Safety and protection be with the firefighters on the front lines; may their efforts be successful, and may they return safely home to their families. 😢
your vocal range and how well you sing at every pitch is just unbelievable. I can hit most of those low notes and some of the high notes, but man do I sound bad when I try to be a subwoofer.
Ahhhh, I should've known this would be the one! I kept trying to figure out which song would herald the dwarves' return, but now it makes perfect sense. I can tell that this is gonna be utterly amazing, and I've got high hopes. I already like the Peter Hollens version almost better than the original, but knowing Geoff, this is probably about to be on a whole new level. Can't wait!
I will always love the original. However, I love your version as well. You honor the original, but now your beautiful bass version is also on my play list. ❤
The. Harmony. Oh my God. This is how covers are to be made. This is truly a piece of art. First time I heard the song I had never seen the Hobbit movies. Then I saw them and it hit different. Then I heard this a chill ran up my spine. Truly wonderful.
One does not simply walk into Mordor...... Unless you're Geoff Castellucci

I like the Ed Sheeran version, but this video with the four part harmony is glorious.
The original was the song of a bard. A bard's lament for the desolation to come.

Again I'm sorry for how corny this is but fuck I haven't ever felt like I did when I first heard this
❤ Keep going, friend! We need you. Keep looking up. Things WILL get better.
Good music can do that to you. I wish peace and happiness for you, internet friend.
The struggles are real. Keep strong even when in the midst of your darkest time, know that there is a light. Being one has walked that path many times myself. All things happen for a reason. The good or the bad.
Sometimes we find what we need at the right time. Stay strong
I am immediately drawn to a book i read in English class. "The 5 people you meet in heaven"
Read it, or watch the movie by the same name.
As someone with a 3 month old, thank you for giving him his favorite thing to fall asleep to. Didn't mean to, but man does he find you calming.
true that did it myself works like a charm
Fun fact, the reason for this working, its the deep voice. I'll explain, the infants ears work months before birth. He can remember. After birth, this new world seems foreign and not as comfortable, the deep voice sounds like the muffled sounds an infant hears in the womb. Same way holding a newborn and bobimg them up can stop them crying. The later example simulates a mom walking and the way the infant would bob up and down in the womb.
Same for my 10 month old
Works everytime. Had many moms with a screaming baby. Always tell them there is a trick: take it into your arms and produce the deepest humming possible. Something about that vibration.
I’m 59 🥰 and I love falling asleep 💤 to his soothing voice. Geoff is also very easy on my old eyes 👀. Smooth.
If they redo the Hobbit films, Geoff should be the voice of Smaug. His deep, booming voice is perfect for the role. This song was already good, now it's on a whole new level.

Geoff's wife Kathy did an amazing job with the costuming and props!
Thorin is the one that hit me hard.
I wondered if that was Bofur! I'm filled with nerd glee that I correctly identified the dwarf that wasn't one of the Line of Durin! 😊

Hi, Same way I did. Now I am addicted to Geoff and the Voiceplay
Kind of tangential, but if you like Dwarvish music, you should check out Clamavi de Profundis. Geoff covers the popular songs out of the movies, which is *great,* but this group sings Tolkien’s original poetry.

Honey over thunder. Best description ever
An awesome description of his voice. ❤❤❤
After reading the comments, I see this is one man. Not only is he a beyond this world singer, but the filming absolutely amazing!!!

Lyrics:
[Intro]
Oh, misty eye of the mountain below
Keep careful watch of my brothers' souls
And should the sky be filled with fire and smoke
Keep watching over Durin's sons
[Verse 1]
If this is to end in fire, then we should all burn together
Watch the flames climb high into the night
Callin' out, Father, oh, stand by and we will
Watch the flames burn auburn on the mountainside high
[Verse 2]
And if we should die tonight, we should all die together
Raise a glass of wine for the last time
Callin' out, Father, oh, prepare as we will
Watch the flames burn auburn on the mountainside
Desolation comes upon the sky
[Chorus]
Now, I see fire inside the mountain
I see fire burnin' the trees
And I see fire hollowin' souls
I see fire, blood in the breeze
And I hope that you'll remember me
[Verse 3]
Oh, should my people fall then surely, I'll do the same
Confined in mountain halls, we got too close to the flame
Callin' out, Father, oh, hold fast and we will
Watch the flames burn auburn on the mountainside
Desolation comes upon the sky
[Chorus]
Now, I see fire inside the mountain
I see fire burnin' the trees
And I see fire hollowin' souls
I see fire, blood in the breeze
And I hope that you'll remember me
[Bridge]
And if the night is burning, I will cover my eyes
For if the dark returns, then my brothers will die
And as the sky's fallin' down, it crashed into this lonely town
And with that shadow upon the ground, I hear my people screamin' out
[Chorus]
Now, I see fire inside the mountains
I see fire burnin' the trees
I see fire hollowin' souls
I see fire, blood in the breeze
And I hope that you'll remember me
And I hope that you'll remember me
And I hope that you'll remember..

These songs are a rope of hope for our kind. And I hope all our kin can find hope and a road home in all of them..
It's just a darned good thing we're married! ... just a shame it's not to each other... jk!

Aaaaand back to this earworm.
Now I see fire
Inside your vocals
And I see fire
In both tenor and bass
I see fiiihiiihiiiiiire
Huge following fanbase
I see fiiihiiihiiiiiiiiire
And queen Kathy with grace
Just know that we'll remember this
I will never be able to say chef's kiss again because now and forever more to me it is Geoff's kiss. 😆
@@katthor7311 I am sorry. My brain ist just full of nonsense. I blame Geoff with his word acrobatics. I got inspired - but in a bad way 😆
@@Dani_Ela13 It's okay with me. You made it better! 😁
Офигеть. Массаж мозга. Услада для глаз и ушей. Надо скачать и слушать на сон грядущий.
Particularly as they are all one(!) guy...😮❤
❤❤ Sorry for your loss ❤❤
As someone who has read the LOTR more times than I can count, hearing how perfectly you interpreted the tone of the song made me cry the first time I listened. Gimli is singing this song while they are walking through the destroyed Dwarven city and you can hear that in your voice. It's beautiful, haunting, and my favorite piece you have ever done. Thank you for doing this song justice!
This is one of the greatest covers ever! The different pitches make the song so much better, plus Geoff's voice when he sings is incomparable. So much better than the original!
What a beauty... Now I'll have to re-read the book. ❤
Kudos to Eli for the lighting, it's beautiful... And thanks to Layne and Tony as Pattycake Productions, plus all the other persons involved, and the Patreons, and any other person without whom this video would not have been possible.
And of course, thank you, Geoff. Another beautiful song, that goes right with Misty Mountains in my heart list. ❤
This is truly soul wrenching and breath taking at the same time . Standing ovation is called for!!
Dang, Geoff. You’re definitely a DRAGON 🐉 🔥 🐉
Talent of his caliber ought to be illegal. I am so very grateful for this, and all your work Geoff!
I have literally traveled the world and I have never heard anyone with the voice range this man has. Truly beautiful.
SIR!!! YOU DID NOT NEED TO GO THAT HARD!!! I THINK I CRACKED A RIB LISTENING TO THIS!!!! AMAZING!!!!!
SIR!!! By now, you know he always goes that hard. He knows no other way! Can't to see your reaction. And I'm glad you survived!
@@tonifinley4872 Only just!!!
@@dj_410 Saved by the very magic that nearly did you in! 🤣
Can't wait!
The bass on this man gives me shivers down my spine. I absolutely love it!
Je decouvre votre musique et votre groupe. Elle me fait voyager et me transporte ! Des memoires de vies se manifestent à l ecoute de vos chansons 🙏
His voice is like deep rolling thunder while being as smooth as the steel on a freshly crafted blade. That is both extreme talent and beautiful art.
As someone said below - stunning. I cannot stop listening to it. So glad I found it.
There wasn't a moment in this cover that I didn't have chills. You're a master at your craft, and an inspiration to bass singers everywhere.
