Once again, as this is a ‘silent’ video ill add a few notes. You may have noticed that I added 2 rows of shakes to this side of the roof, meaning it should be properly water proof (the overhang is past the wall line. I will eventually add another 2 rows to the first side also. As I mentioned before, the shelter is primarily a wood store, I have a cabin build soon and this will be handy for fire wood plus keeping tools dry whilst I spend time there working. The woven chestnut walls should help keep it airy inside, helping dry any leaky areas, plus keep the deer out. The chestnut was a bit too seasoned for bending so a bit of a fight to get them in.. ill probably quarter it for the other side.. ill see how splitting it goes.. some don’t split evenly with knots in them. Thanks for watching.. see you in part 3
This is...a fascinating style that reminds me of something. If it helps, you can also add subtitles to describe something you wish. Preferably UA-cam subtitles
Glad to hear you have plans to use the structure when done. I thought you said it was a temporary structure. Clearly you are putting a tremendous amount of time, energy, and materials into it. Good job...
I think you've done an excellent job. That cool you fixed that side of the roof. I think that was really awesome of you to point that out. Thank you for that. You are truly awesome. God bless you
Such a beautiful thing to create. Amazing to watch and fantastic skills being used. Congratulations, you must be so proud. Thanks for the time and effort you have put into the filming too!
Your tool shed is looking good. You could probably stay in it yourself when the weather is bad. Nice to see you out and about. I know its rough staying inside all the time with this covid going on but the covid is here to stay. We get bored staying indoors all the time and need to get out and explore new things ,build new huts, cabins ,shelters and etc. You doing a great job . Stay safe.
Brilliant video, I’m from Sheffield and I love our heritage for cutlery and tools. So I was pleased to see your wood splitter is made in Sheffield. That tool will last you a lifetime
Dude, I used to think you were pretty bloody good but this stuff slings you into the definitely Awesome category! You are rockin my world with this stuff here. Makin boring life with the virus actually liveable! Your vids are so entertaining I don't watch telly anymore!
You're a great story teller Andy. I particularly liked learning how the shakes were made AFTER seeing the near completion of the roof. Well done man !!
Great job and outstanding filming and editing. No doubt you will visit your shelter in winter to see how it performs! Personally I think it will be great! Regards John
Is it just me...or does peeling off bark look like fun? 😂😂 It’s looking really great Andy! Such hard work but you look like a pro 👍🏼 are you enjoying it?
Super nice shelter.. Should last a long while. Will there be a fireplace? LOL. Thanks again for the adventures you share with us. Stay safe and big cheers from Kentucky.
I enjoyed every second of this video. Although I was expecting to hear you at the end...I wouldn't have changed anything. Thank you for the build video. I look forward to seeing more of your builds!
Outstanding job bro; better video!!! I love it. Please keep the videos coming!!! Me and mine wish you and yours all things great and good!!!! Take care, be safe, all my best and God bless!!!! Chuck Knight from Buffalo, Texas, USA. 🤠🐩🖖✝️
Really enjoyed watching this hut come in to view. Very relaxing in beautiful natural surroundings😌 Thanks Andy. It looks great and I love the interweaving contrast; makes it look really special though I have seen it before it's nice to watch the actual process 😊
Andy you do such good work! I love watching it being built, you'll need a hot tub to relax those muscles when you're done! Lol... Looking forward to part 3.
Don't care how many episodes there will be of this and future builds I can't get enough of them, safe to say you have plenty of wood shavings for future fire starting. Keep up the great work thank you fella superb content 👍😁
You're pretty good with a froe and hatchet making those shakes. Looks like yoy got them thinner on this side as well. Nice video, thanks for thr inspiration!
Coming along really well man! The cleaving brake is an awesome jig, so essential for splitting those lengths evenly. Looking forward to seeing the progression! 👍 Will
Nice little get away in the woods. Do you ever have wasp problems built their nests in those structures? Seems like that would be a perfect place for them to build as well. Thumbs Up!
Hi Andy. Looks like you did a lot of hard work towards your shelter. The roof is perfect. Did you use the leftover bark shavings for your camp fires? You’re getting quite the following that you rightly deserve. Fantastic. Getting ready to see the next video in this series. Got a bit behind but better late than never. This is going to be a palace in winter. Be safe and stay well.

dig a trench 3in (Wide) 3in (Deep) around the shelter.. moving away from the shelter down hill.. this way with the shingled roof ontop the rain water pouring down won't make a mess around or going through your project.

Let’s hope we can reawaken some of lost heritage of fine world leading manufacturing soon.
