Wish you could show us how you made the shader for the curtain

Whats also nice is adding a Harmonic force field with some noise on it. If you animate than one with say noise modifier on top in the the graph editor. It will start to pull the curtain towards it. Its super nice in cases like flags. But perhaps also nice in this scene

Great tutorial dude. Can you make a bed tutorial for a bed like you have in the scene? It would really help a lot of people. Thanks.

Yeah using mdd or abc is suoper nice. That way you can edit it but also move and what not. Its super handy trick to have more control over such animations

Ow you actually used a different method. I used that method with the modifier. You allows for controlling the animation it self, also nice tip!

Thank you for a great tutorial! The action blending technique is really helpful to know.
;) BTW the render time can be decreased by rendering only moving objects (curtain and mirror reflection) as other information is discarded later in Premiere.

Is there a tutorial for that beautiful cloth on the curtains? I can't get it right! No matter what I do, using cycles...It's either being way to transparent or not letting enough light through.

I was looking at some videos of Chocofur and he uses that same approach for the environment lighting. I was testing it out and its a HUGE benefit, this was always one of my major problems. I looked at his BCON19 video and ive replicated his setup and made this now a nodegroup and an addon. Made 2 versions a basic and expanded version

I actually am wondering if light portals still even work like they supposed to work. Its kinda of a dinosaur in Blender, not sure its been updated properly though. It should help to guide rays to openings in the scene make it render faster. From what youve told it sounds like its not doing a good job at that

PS you could also do a cropped render of the curtain only, then overlay that on the still frame. Though i guess that would only work well if the lighting and / or shadows dont change to much. You basically then render 1/3 of the scene, which than also saves time

I wonder why that lamp looking into the mirror is that dark on the backside. I guess you where aiming for milky glass right. But perhaps the material isnt setup properly or its due to Ecycles with low bounce light settings or so. Its a small detail, animation looked super nice! Personally i would add a touch of green using some big tropical plant, that could also be moving then

Hi! Why when I try to render the animation to PNG - Blender exports the same frame (I do have set a range- it works while I play it in Blender) but when I export the animation it renders one frame over and over again. Did I do something wrong with the cloth simulation? Thanks!

Thank you for the amazing channel. Would you ever consider making a tutorial on how to make professional-looking bed 3D models in Blender? it seems that all good ones are made in Marvelous Designer, so I was wondering if you could give some advice in making professional bed models in Blender given your experience.

Is the curtain material just some transparency with a texture? I struggle to make good textures.

It's a mix of translucent with some opacity map. But i the end i should have also actually rendered it also not just rendered with just camera. So it looks more realistic

Video request: please share a process for grouping but in the same way as 3ds max. I find that the blender community has changed the meaning of grouping. Collections and parenting is not a proper way if one has a model with many objects.
    Cheers!
