really enjoy your approach ;D i always slow pace my progress too, im at day 130+ and still bronze age ;D bulding lots of stuff within this restricted age and didnt even se one swamp yet, but like 10 black forests and 20 meadows :D
@@Linxofthought I’m definitely happy with the design for sure! And yes lowering the floor is definitely a great idea for a little more room!
I’ve played more than 1k hours of Valheim since it first came out, watched a lot of building videos and yet it is still more satisfying watching a build where the builder is not floating around and not using any mods or dev commands. Great build and hoping you’ll continue this kind of build videos.

I agree, I love watching build videos where you see it is actually possible to do what is being built without cheating or modding. Very nice! I went and made two troll cave chicken pens after seeing this, one on my solo world and one on my server. Love it!

This is such a cute little build, I love it! Too bad we cannot build inside of the caves, I could imagine some very cosy housing in them.
Glad you liked it! Yah this is pretty much the closest you’ll get to building in a cave without the mod to build inside them haha
I really like those little practical builds over massive castles it feels more achievable for average player
Yah! That’s pretty much my goal with this series, it’s fun figuring out how to utilize space in the best way!
Ohh wonderful info! We always got stuck in bunkbeds. Now ill just remove those beams along the length of the upper bed.

Thank you for this idea. Located a troll cave on the hill overlooking the ocean channel between two large land masses. Going to use this as the foundation for my port/end game base.

Haha great title! And glad to hear you liked the video! I’ll definitely aim to make them shorter then livestreams but I won’t purposefully cut good stuff for the sake of time if it fits in the video well! I’ll generally aim for 15-30 min mark

This is perfect! I actually just started my own Hildir's quest playthrough and am currently living in a troll cave, though it's not nearly as nice as yours. I will have to take some inspiration, thank you! :D
The little roof out front would also be a perfect spot for a fireplace, I had some trouble venting smoke in mine.

Love it - and you could extend the awning at front to make a forge area too - and have the smelter & charcoal burner around the side. Excellent use of space and gives me great ideas on decorating. Also - I don't need to build a huge place (except for a storage area).
I like the coziness and almost all the design ideas, but for me, I would omit the beds, the fire and the bench, add a portal (named "chickens") and a stake wall to keep out the riffraff and just use it as a meat farm.

I'm curious to see where you're going to put the forge and all its upgrades.
Perhaps remove the bottom bed, or build something next to or on top of the cave?
Guess you'll have to watch the next episodes and see ;) But I'll give it away that I didn't end up finding room for the bellows upgrade without it feeling too cramped
very nice. I would just make sure to build a little shelter for your fire so it doesn't go out in the rain.
Definitely! That’s just the temporary placement but I still have yet to do all the landscaping and exterior

I didn't know you could leave it without a door because the mobs cannot enter. I understand that they cannot enter the cave itself.
they could enter but in this case the front of it was next to a lake and they didn't spawn in any place to worry about it so I left it open to feel more spacious

Yes this is currently the public test… it’ll probably go live in about a month when the devs are back from break
Nice idea, but couldn't spawn a troll in there?
No, trolls don't respawn in or next to caves. They are just placed there one time at the start (usually).
How do you keep everything outside from getting destroyed by greydwarves?
Mostly just the terrain. It’s by the water so they are much less likely to spawn in front of it.
