It was a similar situation in The Joker: Devil's Advocate. He was framed for poisoned stamps and about to be executed. Batman finds the real perpetrator and Joker goes back to Arkham. Don't remember how they hand-waved the fact that suddenly the Joker was eligible for capital punishment instead of the hundreds, maybe thousands of other murders.

@user-ks4yx4eh5l bro he was avenging him too in this moment. Ik the movie don't cover it but the comic does. Batman thought about everyone joker hurt who was close to him including Jason Todd
@@Cosmicmorales *Sandro Costa* means that Joker is telling Batman to stop hurting him for something he didn’t do(i.e he’s innocent)and Batman misunderstood the situation.
It's not that. The Joker is telling him to stop because he didn't do it. The Joker wants to make Batman snap but for something he did, not for something he didn't do. HE wants to be the one who will make Batman lose it.
They took out the part where Catwoman and Harley tried to stop him from killing Joker and I kinda understand why. It was a bit redundant to see but if they had decided to keep the full scene, it would've been more impactful. Batman, while beating Joker to a bloody pulp, has a flashback of all the things Joker has done to him and his family's. Barbara's paralysis, Jason's death and now Elliott. Batman ignores all pleas from anyone and decides to end Joker once and for all. Even Harley, who I think he has a soft spot for (since I can't recall a time where Batman fights her seriously like he fights Deathstroke, Joker or Bane) just kicks her unconscious onto a dumpster and Catwoman, who is trying desperately to keep Bruce from that slippery slope of killing gets ignored. Really goes to show how close Batman has come to actually kill him.
Yeah. It also just shows how strong Batman gets when he is angry. He literally just manhandles joker, catwoman, and Harley. Knocking both the women out in about 5 second and then get right back to beating joker
All of that would have been great, but unfortunately the DCAMU did not have the necessary films for that to have its full effect. Barbra was nevet shot, and I don't think Jason has even been referenced in these movies, even Joker asking who Robin is in this these days in this very clip isn't really a Jason Todd reference. Heck I think this is the first time Joker's even had a prominent role in the DCAMU which is legitimately surprising considering how prominent Batman and his films are to the DCAMU.

I mean he tried to. Death in the family ends with batman and joker fighting in a helicopter with Batman intending to kill joker. Their fight causes the helicopter to start to crash and batman leaps from the helicopter with the hostage joker took, leaving joker to die in the helicopter. The helicopter crashes into the ocean (or a lake i can’t fully recall) and batman shouts at superman (who is also there) to search for joker’s body. Superman doesn’t find it leaving batman bitter and unsatisfied. His inner monologue tells us that he knows this is how it will always end with joker. Unfinished.
And in the comic, Jason is a big reason why he is so angry right now. Like he actually reflects on everything the joker has done and that is key piece of it. It was a great scene in the comics.

The fact that joker was telling him stop also made it clear that he was being serious. Not only that joker would only want to die if he caused it and in this case he didnt jokers perfect way of dying would have been ruined
I think the first time he was actually scared of the Batman. Joker always loves his plans to go a a certain way. Introduce an element of unknown and it scares him. Batman it doesn’t his whole thing is a master strategist and accounts for the unknown. Joker saw Batman for what he could be when he loses control and scared him for a brief moment.
I'll be honest: This is the scariest Bruce Wayne Batman scene I've seen. I don't think I've ever seen Batman be this violent with anyone before. I mean it makes sense, but man... And no, I have not read MANY of the comics. Just a few but I'm more of a TV and movie guy myself.
This is super tame compared to the comics. As much as Bruce tries to be a hero, the reality is that he's often far more violent than the criminals he deals with. Really the only thing separating them is his unwillingness to kill.
Even in the movies, he's insanely violent. The way he tortured Joker in The Dark Knight when interrogating him, the way he almost electrocuted a thug to death in the 2022 movie. But yeah, even those scenes just can't quite compare to the pure unfiltered rage here. I saw a scene from the film Under The Red Hood where Batman is asked why he doesn't kill Joker, why is it so hard. And Batman replies no, it'd be way too easy, there isn't a single day that passes by when he doesn't think of killing Joker in the most violent ways imaginable. He doesn't kill not out of a sense of morality per say, but because he knows if he kills even once he won't stop. I think that scene helped cement my love for the character. Batman isn't just fucked in the head from his parents' deaths. He is paranoid, and the only thing stopping him from killing anyone is that self-awareness of the darkness in him.
Batman shot his grapple gun through Scarecrow's jaw to attach him to the ceiling in the New 52 Cycle of Violence story. So yeah..... He is scary brutal when he is over the edge.
This scene is great, because people forget the actual amount of violence in Batman's nature that exists. Well for one. They needed joker alive because Hush is casually clowning on all of Batmans most intellectual and dangerous rogues- he needs answers and joker was the next lead (in this movie Bane, Ivy, Catwoman, League of Assassins, Scarecrow, Joker, Clayface, and Superman all were pawns and victims to Hush- a super enhanced riddler after taking a dip in the zeros pit in a desperate measure to save himself from cancer Not only did Batman need to stop hush(he knew he was Bruce Wayne) because he was gonna kill everyone Bruce Wayne and Batman ever cared for, but he started with Thomas Elliot(he framed Joker for it) Joker in this scene was the newest lead into finding Hush Outside of necessity of information. Batman is also insane, believe it or not the mid 30s man who dresses as a bat in constant suicide missions with a saviors complex isn't all there Killing one person knows will shoot his psyche right over the line and he can't trust himself to stop
Considering what joker did to Barbara, it’s crazy that Gordon of all people telling Batman to not kill him. He as much as Batman would have more than enough reason to kill joker but he also knows Batman can’t go down to his level
I used to think that after everything that the Joker did, it was time for Batman to kill him already, since there is nothing that restrain such psychopaths, you will put them in jail, they will run away and start all over again. But after looking at how Batman beats the Joker, and with what face he was ready to kill the Joker, even despite Gordon's words "I won't let you throw your life away". I had a feeling that it was not Batman but some kind of maniac thirsting for blood.
I think inside Batman knew Joker was right (for the clown would rather gloat about his doing, he would not take a credit for others' crimes). He just did not care, he needed a target for the loss of Elliot and others as well, this time thanks to Joker.
Oh dude this scene was MUCH worse in the comic The Joker actually gets scared and pleads with Batman that he's innocent. Gordon also has a much harder time pulling Bruce from the brink. And when Batman walks away, all the Joker can do is mumble that he's innocent on repeat The movie could never get across how brutal it was
@@Outsider_YT_ - On the contrary, I feel like this film is a nice addition to the "Hush" saga (I have the whole collection, Hush Returns, Heart of Hush, Hush Money, House of Hush, and the new 52/Rebirth stuff he played parts in) by having a different twist than the original comic, that I love. As the movie went on, I kept thinking that they made a terrible job at setting Tommy up at the suspect, and thought there really was something wrong with the script, even if I didn't expect that big of a twist of course.... So yeah, my selfish self has enjoyed that movie In the context of the DCAU universe; not one the best of the (very good) DC animated, but I can understand why some other fans might have hated it for changing too much stuff. @@randallflagg3700 you make a good point but in my personal opinion this movie ruined the story and character of Hush. I know some people dont like it but I would've actually loved to have seen a direct adaptation with a few minor changes and a better cast, that's just me though.
@@Outsider_YT_ - I totally understand, which is why I'm not sure that it was a great move to have "Hush" be part of the DCAU movies canon... I get that Batman can’t kill because he is not above the law... but what about the justice system in Gotham there have been people who’ve gotten death sentenced by the courts for committing crimes far less intense than joker... what’s going on with the justice system..?
The plee of insanity means that the justice system can’t execute the Joker because he’s insane, and the justice system makes it clear that if someone commits a crime and is insane, then they don’t have control of their actions and are sent to a mental hospital. I’m pretty sure they want to kill him, but they can’t because of his insanity.
Joker is the number one expert In getting off from every single crime. From the insanity plea, diplomatic immunity to covering up evidence. He uses every single defense and can counter any prosecutor with very high level of skill.
I know I'm a bit late but joker and many other criminals bribe judges and have many Gotham officials under their pay roll joker and multiple others I mean most of Batman's villains are mobsters and crime lords

This scene is like a million times better in the comics. And I really don't like saying that! I have almost never said that about any adaptation or anything. After all, its an adaptation, it's meant to be different. But, in the comics, this is really emotional scene, Batman baisically goes through every awful thing the Joker has done over there long history together. Killing Jason and paralyzing Barbara being huge parts of his anger. He goes over how he tried to bring him to Justice and how the courts just keeps letting him off. In this moment you are completely convinced that Batman is going to kill the Joker and almost no one can stop him. He legit knocks out 2 people who try to stop him, one of them being Catwoman. But then Jim Gordon, a man who has been hurt the most by the Joker, is able to talk some sense into him (and in a far better way then he does here) Its an amazing scene in the comics and I recommend anyone find it and read it.
Knowing that Thomas Elliot isn’t Hush in this sad excuse for an adaptation really takes away the tension and impact of this scene. They took way too many liberties with this movie.
On one hand Batman was finally going to do him in like he wanted; on the other it wasn’t over something he did so it was leaving a bad after taste. It was so ironic he couldn’t help but laugh.

Try speaking to a truamitized person about what is right and wrong. Trust me it's hard.
Unless if it's the telltale universe.
The joker would love that
@@ninaparker3332
And who gives a fuck what he loves??? So some loser psycho clown would go to hell giggling about making a man in a bat suit kill him. So??? And??? He’d be forgotten about in a year. Cringe, Joker.
"Stop if you've heard this before.
Two men walk into a bar.." 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
0:39 WHAT THE FRICK THAT NOISE
Bro I don’t get why Gordon can’t just look the other way, the judge would just give Batman community service which he already did by killing the joker
cause gordon knows batman isnt that sort of person, he didnt want him to go down that path and become owlman. batman has helped the city so many times and pretty much gordon is an ally and friend
Well for one. They needed joker alive because Hush is casually clowning on all of Batmans most intellectual and dangerous rogues- he needs answers and joker was the next lead
(in this movie Bane, Ivy, Catwoman, League of Assassins, Scarecrow, Joker, Clayface, and Superman all were pawns and victims to Hush- a super enhanced riddler after taking a dip in the zeros pit in a desperate measure to save himself from cancer
Not only did Batman need to stop hush(he knew he was Bruce Wayne) because he was gonna kill everyone Bruce Wayne and Batman ever cared for, but he started with Thomas Elliot(he framed Joker for it)
Joker in this scene was the newest lead into finding Hush
Outside of necessity of information. Batman is also insane, believe it or not the mid 30s man who dresses as a bat in constant suicide missions with a saviors complex isn't all there
Killing one person knows will shoot his psyche right over the line and he can't trust himself to stop
Wish they would’ve included Gordon shooting off one of the ears of Batman’s cowl like in the comic. That was such a nice touch.
his voice is ugh
Wish it was mark hamill
For once joker is innocent wow
I don’t know why but that shot at 1:02 has always stuck with me. Joker looking psychotic and happy
Considering what joker did to Barbara, it’s crazy that Gordon of all people telling Batman to not kill him. He as much as Batman would have more than enough reason to kill joker but he also knows Batman can’t go down to his level
I don't think Batman has gotten this violent with Joker since Jason died.
this was all part of Hush's plot to make Batman cross the line by forcing him to relive his past regrets
@@firxanza5172 Riddler is a genius.
Jim was ready to kill the savior of Gotham to save the life of a psychopathic killer🥲🙃
To be honest, this scene alone shows why batman doesn't kill he will lose himself in anger to the point that he brutalized his villains to death
Joker: Oooh, yes... Harder, Batsy..."
*Batman recoils in shock and disgust*
It's like the Batman Arkham Origins Joker's beat down
Looked like Batman was really gonna do it that time, that is if Gordon hadn't shown up.
Batman not superman. He's not the perfect boy scouts
I’m surprised Batman didn’t do this to Joker when he tortured and killed Jason Todd.🦇
Damn so Batman actually did it he didn’t hold himself back damn
The crazier thing is that if joker actually did kill him, he would have been perfectly fine with batman killing him
1:00 Alfred’s cooking got Batman constipated, he’s gonna destroy that Bat-room when he gets home

Isnt this the first appearance of Joker in the New 52 animated movies (that's a mouthful) it sounds like the guy phoned it in while
R Rodey it’s based on the comic book Batman: Hush which was made long before the New 52 came out.
@@DH_Artist yeah but this is part of the new 52 animated movie universe series isnt it?
@@rrodey2015 Yeah, it is. They merged the two together.
@@mathewsimeon4054 I know that
@@someoneudontknow3998 I didn't, I'm just saying that Joker's first appearance in the New 52 is underwhelming
I think inside Batman knew Joker was right (for the clown would rather gloat about his doing, he would not take a credit for others' crimes). He just did not care, he needed a target for the loss of Elliot and others as well, this time thanks to Joker.
The deadliest rage is built inside of someone with a good heart
This atrocity should have ended at this scene.
@@Noneuse__ 🤡
Damn, for once Batman kicked Joker's ass for something he didn't even do.
Oh dude this scene was MUCH worse in the comic
The Joker actually gets scared and pleads with Batman that he's innocent. Gordon also has a much harder time pulling Bruce from the brink. And when Batman walks away, all the Joker can do is mumble that he's innocent on repeat
The movie could never get across how brutal it was
Oh fr?
@@Cosmicmorales
Yeah the Joker legitimately thinks he's about to die and Batman has flashbacks about all the lives he's ruined
If Gotham had the death penalty none of this would be happening.
Also fun fact it was almost based on the comic that he almost became the Batman who laugh
I don’t know if this it what you mean but hush came before batman who laughs and Arkham knight
Batman Goes Beast Mode on Joker. But Why? Why Now After So Long?
Powerful scene in an otherwise bad flick
@IceMan24 If you've read the comic it's based off, it is absolutely horrible. If you haven't read the comic though, it's still mediocre at best.
So yeah, my selfish self has enjoyed that movie In the context of the DCAU universe;
not one the best of the (very good) DC animated, but I can understand why some other fans might have hated it for changing too much stuff.
(even if Hush already got retconned a couple times, most recently just before Batman and Catwoman "wedding" and in the "I am Bane" storyline)
Might have been better as a "Under the Red Hood" type of movie, with no connection to the rest.... but since it is what we got, and I lucked out and enjoyed it, I figured others might have, too.
@@randallflagg3700 yeah it should have been a movie set in its own standalone universe.
Joker’s comment after he got back up about wanting to get back in the grind and kill another Robin, was out of pocket
Joker is so conflicted, it's actually hilarious.
“I want you to break your code, but for something I actually did.”
"stop if you've hear'd this one before.....2 guys walk into a bar"
Lmao
The one time he should’ve listened, and he almost killed the guy. No wonder so many people in Gotham hate his ass
Thank goodness Jim was there to save this innocent from a deranged Batman, attacking with out reason
This is the first time I’ve seen a Batman movie with the Joker involved but not as the main villain
I get that Batman can’t kill because he is not above the law... but what about the justice system in Gotham there have been people who’ve gotten death sentenced by the courts for committing crimes far less intense than joker... what’s going on with the justice system..?
Joker gets off because plee of plee of insanity
By the way, this is the only scene with the Joker in the entire DCAMU (if you don’t count his shadow in Son of Batman)
Two men walk into a bar and they are laughing and laughing and then the bar tender says what's the laugh about the first guy says we're going to kill 1000 people and a donkey the bar tender says what a donkey then the second guy says I told you nobody would care about the 1000 people - Joker
Sounds for the first time ever, he feels batman's punches at 0:21
Choker was enjoying that way too much
Bro could've prevented thousands of deaths in the future
Bro was going to shoot Batman for killing the joker???? Batman was doing them a favor
But then Jim Gordon, a man who has been hurt the most by the Joker, is able to talk some sense into him (and in a far better way then he does here)
Its an amazing scene in the comics and I recommend anyone find it and read it.
comic name please?
Gordon is a good friend
Everyone has a breaking point
Honestly I'm glad this is the only time we see the joker in this series gives the other villains a chance to shine
Imagine if Kirito beats Sugou violently and brutally to a bloody pulp. With Sugou screaming in agony, while pleading Kirito to stop.

@@AllGamingStarred They're both from Sword Art Online.
Knowing that Thomas Elliot isn’t Hush in this sad excuse for an adaptation really takes away the tension and impact of this scene. They took way too many liberties with this movie.
Hush was one of my favourite Batman stories, and to see just how badly they screwed it up with this film really pissed me off.
Sometimes the Joker fights back. Sometimes he doesn’t. It depends on what his plan is. And here it is obvious.

I still think it's hilarious that the Joker's only appearance in this continuity is this scene of Batman beating the shit out of him.
When I read this I thought "that can't be right."
But after a brief looking, yeah, you're right. Damn.
On one hand Batman was finally going to do him in like he wanted; on the other it wasn’t over something he did so it was leaving a bad after taste. It was so ironic he couldn’t help but laugh.

Kinda sad that we saw the Joker only 2 times in the dcau
