Brian Tracy I have been thinking on this. What is it that holds me back? When i do everything that i am supposed to..to succeed. I never understand this that whenever i try doing the right things, it is something deep down me which resists me from doing it. I know within that i must be doing the tasks.. and in normal odd days i am doing those things but when i see some glory/accolades/success/fame approaching me i somehow tend to resist my ownself from doing the right things. SOMETHING IN ME RESISTS ME FROM DOING THE RIGHT THINGS, THE MOMENT I SEE THAT DOING THESE THINGS/TASKS WOULD MAKE MY LIFE BETTER.(Mostly so..when i am about to achieve something worthwhile)
Watching this video i can exactly relate to what you're talking about. 'Fear of Success', when you know you deserve it and about to get it. But you yourself resist it.
Thank you so very much Brian Tracy.
      Lots of love and thanks

Seriously James, this is the most common fear most people have. You are in good company! What do we mean by 'fail' anyway?! Redefine things, let's say success is ... doing your best. :).

Hi James. Thanks for sharing with us all. You've said that your fear is that you'll 'fail' and that you'll have wasted your time and effort. You're not alone! But, what is the alternative? What will happen if you don't try? For some people turning it on its head can provide some motivation. If you want to explore this a little more via email, send me a message and tell me more about this. All the best.

I believe our definition of success has changed. We now equate success with less and less of the quality things in life that matter most - health, family, freedom to follow a passion. I understand now that success now means more slogging at work, unnecessary stress, unachievable targets and lack of empathy. And we have become afraid of this self imposed definition of social success. Thank you for providing a new insight, sir.

I’m terrified of success, because failure is all I’ve ever known, and success seems so scary and unfamiliar. It feels like I’d be walking on eggshells every minute, waiting for something bad to happen. The fear of ending struggle also resonates a lot with me. If it’s a constant struggle, again I’m used to it. But a roller coaster type life? Spooky.

  • @britforlife32

This was amazing. Im 19 and was excited for highschool to end and get into real estate. Now that i'm a month in I've hit this wall really hard. I've experienced all those fears you've listed and have been binge watching shows/sports to have a little escape from work(I used to never watch tv). Now that I finally have the opportunity to be successful I've been slacking off. Thank you Brian. I've been at a loss for what's been happening to me, but now that I realized what I need to avoid I know I'll be able to start making the moves I used to picture so vividly.

    • @PearlEscapes
      @PearlEscapes 4 роки тому

Hey Shelly, one of the most powerful ways to defeat our fears is to silence the mind. This voice is what we call the ego, the voice of knowledge, or the liar in our head. You can do this simply by listening to music that doesn't have words you can understand, like classical - which distracts the ego. Then you can hear yourself think!! The less you listen to that voice the more you will be able to follow your heart.

Hi Brian, thank you for this video!
My biggest fear is that I will fail.
I am able to talk to the client and gain their trust, then when I go back to the office, I freak out. I know that I can do it but this fear seems to be deep down, so I tell myself I will stuff it up. This leads me to failing.
I find Tim Ferris's Fear Setting to be a good way to deal with this, as well as having people that can help me to be accountable. Also owning failures helps. I use this to shape my thinking in the future. I am by no means perfect, but I keep trying, and keep trying to learn from my mistakes.

    • @opataiszpadel7598
      @opataiszpadel7598 4 роки тому

I may assure you this one is not true. It happened to me. I survived. I think the key is to understand that people who say such things are happy to see your failure. They are not your friends and you should say bye-bye to them as soon as possible. And YES, there are also people who would help you to start for zero, who would cherish your progress, who would believe you and all that jazz. Failure is not forever, same as success may not be taken for granted. Really, they IS life after a big failure! :-)

I'm more or less terrified of not being physically capable of handling acting roles in plays and musicals. Thus, being a burden to others, thus, terrified of putting in so much effort into character analysis, song prep, exercise and nerves to be wasted on the IDEA that it may be too hard on me if I do succeed. It ruins the prospect of getting that lead role, and having fun(and working terribly hard) It pummels any faith I had in myself, because with fear of success you are not confident. I intend to try my best, but right now I want nothing more than to quit, be content with not pursuing my dream for right now. But another part of me is hopeful, excited and determined.. yet, that fear will always linger.
And that's what makes it worse. It'll always be there.
I get poetic when in distress haha

    Nice work!
As a village brought up I 've been taught to be humble to people. But as I moved to a city I was given a better responsibility at my workplace, but people started taking me for granted and I could get no work out of them being humble. I was blamed to be not fit to handle things as I wasn't commanding and bossy. I personally like to be lead by someone with a composed mind and I tend to oblige them. But with many people out here only "Commands" work, which isn't the way I want to treat others. I fear , if one really HAS TO BE rude to be successful in handling a higher responsibility.

I failed in 9th standard once, took four years to complete BBM, suffered from bed wetting till the age of 21, took five years to complete MBA, lost 13 jobs till date, suffered two broken engagements, left knee ligament fully torn apart, missed twenty eight accidents till now in a span of fourteen years, met with a serious accident 5 years ago which led me to being bedridden for a month and where i had experienced hell. The nurse used to pour tincture on the raw wound. My last job was working in pure night shifts for more than a year in a job that I was JUST not liking and which ruined my health. I was molested in an interview in January last year. And top of all that, I've not had any job stability for close to two years now. In November, my wife put me and my family into a lot of trouble since she pawned all her jewellery and fell into the trap of an online fraud which made us lose overall around 7 lakhs. And top of all that i had suffered from urinary tract and fungal infection for three weeks last month. And I'm 39 now. Wot hope is there for people like me???????

Mostly I would say, fear to fail ... strangely ! I say "strangely" because I know that both sides work together, we can't always succeed at firt. I'have not been trained to work hard to get good results in my Life, since I'm a little girl, during my first years at school, everything was easy for me, easy to learn, easy to understand, since my friends were working hard to get almost the same results as I did without even trying half of their efforts .... today I realize that "Learning to work and react after a fail" is one of the best lesson we could give to our child. It's hard to learn when we're older. Thanks Brian.

Biggest fear? That my success will expose me to rejection. But when I think of the flip side, I realize that my failures have already exposed me to rejection. What I need to do now is to attain success and realize that those who have rejected me due to my failures will most likely reject me in my successes. My focus needs to be on those who I will gain and what I will gain as I step into a new level of success in my business and personal life.

The fear of judgement, the fear of making my life more complicated and the fear of getting more attention that i'd want.
Im an introverted person and not usually the first to speak up in conversation, unless someone talks to me first and starts a conversation with me.
My confidence level isn't really all that high because i end being criticized and questioned by people.
I usually take critisizm and accept, but sometimes it ends up tearing me up on the inside, but i know what i want to do in life which is be in the ecommerce space.

this video helped me a lot with what I'm going through right now after leaving one job and interviewing for others. I've been turning down offers and not liking the jobs I interview for. The fear I have is that I will be too stressed and overwhelmed in any of these jobs and that my health will be affected. I have 30 years of experience in my field so I don't have a fantasy picture of what it means to accept any of these positions.

I'm afraid of taking on more responsibilities and meeting new people.

Successful Minds I understand cash rules everything around me c.r.e.a.m, but why is it that self help, motivational self developers and coaches feel the need or have the tendency to focus strickly or primarily on finances? What about health, and relationships, etc..?

My fear is that with every mistake I'm getting worse than before (even if it's not true and family and trainer didnt say it) and that my dream won't come true, even if I'm training hard every day. I don't have enough confidence and I'm just not believing in my skills and... I'm going to fight it. Thank you so much for this video. I just had to get these anxieties out somewhere
(english isn't my native language, so there may be mistakes d:)

Oh I hope you read this.
Overthinking that ends up with me making HUGE lists of to-do that I NEVER accomplish!
I still can't put my hand down on why I fear achieving and accomplishing my own goals. I've been looping like that for years..
I am certain of ONE THING: PUSH!
At the moment, I decided to follow up with myself on daily basis and just keep at doing.
I spend a LOT of time planning.. The main reason for zero accomplishment.

An answering your question, I'm always afraid of the Boss, or the bosses, telling me, or yelling at me, that I did something wrong, or I didnt' do it, the confrontation is my biggest fear

I think my biggest fear is failing at what I am trying to do. Logically, I don't think this is true or likely, but emotionally I fear I will not measure up and be found wanting. I work on that throughout my life. One of the strategies is to push myself and work hard, but then I struggle with finding time for relaxation. I enjoyed the video very much. Thank you.

Hi Kerry, Perhaps you're making things too big and thus overwhelming? Write down something you wish to accomplish, and break it down into small manageable baby steps. Any action no matter small, in the direction of what it is you wish to achieve, is a step in the right direction. Crossing it off your list as done, will give you a little boost of confidence. All the best.
