Another informative review, I currently play the Cobra King CB irons with Project X 6.5 shafts and I have been very happy with them performance wise although at times I have thought that I could maybe do with a touch extra forgiveness in the 4 and 5 irons even though I have plenty of speed (96-97 mph clubhead speed with 7 iron) and I can hit my longer irons well overall, I have just seen pics of the King CB and King Tour irons in the new black DBM finish and was blown away as they look amazing so I am now keen to test the King Tour black irons, so have you compared the King CB to the King Tour irons at any time?
Thanks. I’ve found that the Tour heads are just that little more friendly across the face and a launches a bit higher than the CB heads. Hope that helps.
How would you compare the profile to what the p760 was? I loved the squatty look of the 760. I’ve been looking for something that can compete with what those were for me a few years back.
Very similar top line and off set. These are worth a look as will play softer than the 760’s but not lose the speed retention from off centre hits. Check them out. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Tried the tour recently with kbs 75 graphite shaft, felt really smooth and good flight and distance, what would be a comparable steel shaft, with similar characteristics
These have a smaller footprint and don’t feel quite as clicky as the Forged Tec X and P.790. Softer feel and lower flight. The Forged tec x and p790 are more forgiving as they manage speed better on off centre hits slightly better. Hope that helps. 👍🏻
Mid handicapper. Top irons I want. Not sure what shaft you would recommend. Had a bad fitting, who wanted me to choose Callaway paradym, no interest, nor did I hit it best
Looking to purchase but my fitter put me in x flex modus 120. Swing speed is 88 with 7 iron and slow tempo swing. I thought/think I should be playing stiff flex. Thoughts on shaft flex for me?
I would always be cautious of going to X flex for any smooth, slower speed as it can take a lot of feel from the club. Difficult to gauge over the net but be careful with X flex. Get a second opinion. 👍🏻
Love the video! You asked for questions Hörer you go :) Quite specific question from Germany Can’t find a fitter anywhere close to give them a wack in my specs. I hit them in a std length x-stiff and loved the feel. I always played blades and still have 2018 mizuno MP 18s in my bag but didn’t really play a heck lot of golf the past 5 years. Starting to get back into it and don’t want to make it too hard on myself. Playing off around 4 right now Played scratch at the age of 14/15. Right now I’m 28 years , 6’8” with 119mph club head speed on my driver with a way too high launch on all my clubs Thinking about ordering: +1,5 inch , +2 Up, Kbs % X-stiff 130g, std lofts, midsize grips + 1 tape (wedges in the bag 50,54,58) What are your thoughts on the specs ?
Where would this slot on the forgiveness scale? Currently playing Srixon ZX5, considering these and the Wilson Tour CB. The Cobras seem to be more playable. Also looking at TM 790, which are likely close to the Srixon.
These heads are great at holding speed across the face which makes them good for distance control and consistency. P.790 are good too and similar but a little more expensive. You need to test both as they can feel different and only you will know what you prefer. 👍🏻
I love the Cobra Woods, irons not so much so since they droped the AMP Forged irons...These irons, compared to the Mizuno 225 Pro how do they stand???? Lofts are close and price point also, but for a 10 handicaper now, which would be a better fit??? Thanks...
Love the King Cobra Tour irons - so underrated!!!

Hi, how would the kbs tour lite stiff work with this head ? I love the shaft as I don’t swing quick enough for a heavy shaft.
Many thanks
Yes that will work fine and the KBS Max 80 is also available if you need more height and flight. 👍🏻
Tried the tour recently with kbs 75 graphite shaft, felt really smooth and good flight and distance, what would be a comparable steel shaft, with similar characteristics
KBS 80 Max steel is brilliant. 👌🏻
How do these compare to the cobra forge tec and p790s on forgiveness. I strike the ball well for the most part but these are quite nice on the eyes.

Try NIPPON Modus 120 Stiff. Great shaft but hard to tell what’s best for you without some ball flight data??

This is late, but Modus 120x plays notoriously soft to flex. Don’t worry about the designation; you’ve got enough speed for that specific shaft

Thanks for the review. Great stuff. Wondering what shafts might work well with this head for med/fast tempo 84mph 7 iron swing? Cheers
Cherrs. Look at Nippon 950 or KBS 90
Definitely KBS $120 Stiff I’m between 84-87mph perfect shaft
It’s stiff in the tip and you can feel this head the whole way thru your swing got fitted a couple weeks ago

Appreciate the reply. Hoping to get a chance to hit both soon.
Did you also test last years Cobra MIM Tour irons? If so, how do they stack up against the current model, equally good at retaining ball speed?
Great review. What is it about this head that made you mention that this is a head that needs a shaft with some weight?
Cobra is making such great equipment
Yep!!! 👌🏻
Not too heavy for an average speed?
Nope as you can customize the weight to suit the golfers speed and tempo. Also shaft can be made lighter? 😉

Cobra definitely 👍🏻
Mark Zukkerberg springs to mind, very similar hair style
