All marketing nonsense. You know that at 73. I went back to 1984 Wilson blades. Amazing clubs. I only hit the 7 160. I was hitting my Cobra s9 9 iron 155. But the shot is almost the same.
I know P770 can sometimes be included in players iron category but I personally don’t like to…the top line is too chunky, has tech and just looks like Players distance…I’d consider P7MC as players irons for TM
Love the look of the King Tours. They will be my next irons, on paper I technically shouldn’t be playing them but I’ve never been a fan of how people give club types a handicap range. Play what you want
Ya they're great looking clubs. And I totally agree. The goal is to have fun and enjoy. As much as I talk about data and all that, you have to like looking at them. I would suggest getting fitted for the proper shafts and spec though. 🍻
@@NewNineGolf had a fitter that tried to sell me on the Callaway Paradym. I preferred the mizuno job 923 forged & wanted to try the cobra king tour that was my top choice. He sided against it. Huh? Mid handicap. Without a fitting, what shaft would you recommend. Normally play regular shaft

I hit the Srixon ZX7 M2s today after first hitting the TM P7MCs... and wow,.no comparison. The ZX7s were longer and felt so much better too. I think after my test and your video, I'm going with the ZX7s 👍🏽
2nd video I have seen of yours following the session with Brent and find these very helpful and informative, especially as I will be buying new clubs soon after using Mizunos for the last 8 years! I wonder if you should have also tested a wedge and say, 3/4 iron to get a definitive winner rather than just based on a 7? I'm definitely goin gto try the Cobra & Srixon based on this!
Thanks for checking out my videos! Glad they are helping. Unfortunately every fitting iron is a 7 iron. The only time I’m able to hit multiple irons (7,6,5,4) is during a fitting a fitting with the manufacturer when they carry a lot more clubs. I can’t test other manufacturers all at once in those fittings. The only way around that would be to buy each set and I can’t make that happen.
Great review thanks...Mizunos actually suit me more as I'm a super low spin iron player...your review really helped cut my selection process and time down
Really great video. The differences in lofts and swing weights seemed to have a bit of an impact, but they all look great irons. Not sure I could have picked a winner.
It’s 2024 and I just got fit into the cobra king tour. They’re a fantastic iron that gets the ball higher and have more spin than most other clubs in the category. They’re also surprisingly forgiving for their “player” size. I think if more ppl tried themnthey’d end up realizing how good they really are.
Great video, I wasn't surprised that the 921 tours were way shorter than the rest, that thing is tiny, but I love the look of it, I think the jpx 923 forged would fit better into this grouping, as well as the t150 in the titleist category.
I wouldn’t say I’m a particularly low spin player at all. I’m fact I’m probably a high spin player. And I went with the JPX 923 tours, not because I needed more spin, but because I new if I mishit it a little, it would still spin enough to hold most greens. And they have done so since I got them when they dropped.
I think you should put out a ‘max distance driver video!’ Paradym Triple diamond, TSR 4, Aero Jet, and Stealth. Pro V1 left dash (longest golf ball I have ever hit!)
For all of you that are saying the P770's aren't a players Iron.... They are a player and a player distance. They are considered in both categories. That's the exact reason why they were made that way. Great Video buddy!
I did a fitting 3 weeks ago. My experience was Cobra King Tour won by a mile. Srixon Zx was 2nd, and Ping Blueprint S was 3rd. I wanted to like the P770s, but the number and accuracy was not on par to Cobras.
it's nice to see that cobra have come to the party.......club selection is subjective but i don't think there is a bad club out in the market........in depth review and fair❤❤❤❤
Not changing my i210s until they wear out but I did enjoy the video. I have tested the P770s in the past and in my hands they perform close to identical to my i210s - only differences were that the i210 spun a bit more so carried a touch less but we are talking about less than 5 yards difference so I prefer the greater control with the i210s. I have also tested the P7MC which I see a number of people have suggested as an alternative in this category to the P770s. I admit I did not get on well with them, they felt very hard in my hands, even more so than my i210s, although I am sure that is probably an outlier response. Very impressed with both Cobra and Srixon though - great looking clubs as well.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it right? So many good options these days for people that are in the market. Was definitely impressed by Cobra and Srixon. Thanks for watching. 🍻
I switched from the apex 21’s to the jpx 923 and yeah I gotta agree the mizunos feel great but they spin a lot. Perfect for me tho they stop on a dime 😅
I got the JPX 923s this year too, and completely agree about the spin. It's wild that they are consistently 500-1,000 rpm more than nearly every other players club this year. As someone with a high swing speed (7 iron @ ~100 mph), they are way too high spin for me. I wish I understood that better when I bought them, but at least they stop within a couple feet and feel absolutely incredible!
No shock with #1 and 2...consistently been high performers for everyone...but would loved to have seen the p7mc in there because it's similar technology...p770 should have been toughest as it has the most tech and forgiveness...glad to see everything else keeping up though!
It was a 50/50 decision for me and I didn’t want to include multiple models for each manufacturer. I get asked more about the 770 vs the p7mc so went with those.
Could you do a similar test with the mid-handicap irons like the P790, Titleist T200, Ping i525 etc please. There are more mid handicappers around 12 hcap than below 9 playing the game. Thanks
Have you done an old vs new comparison video? Im stil playing with 20 year old Nike Pro combos and i hit them a dream but do wonder what the difference would be
If you like Mizuno, you can try the jpx forged or tours? I really like the T100 of P770 if you want a little extra distance. I don't know if that's much help but I would go test a few and see what you like.
Great comparison test. I’m not so sold on eliminating the worst shot and the best shot. if that’s the case, you might as well leave them both in because they’ll average out. I think eliminating your worst shot is a better way to go. Based on the results are you going into the P770’s?
@@NewNineGolf don’t blame you. I love my Titleist 2021 T100S irons (6-48 wedge). Recently added a T150 5 iron. Yeah I would eliminate that one bad shot and keep all the rest in. Merry Christmas
It’s so hard to just throw out 1 club. My honest answer is what ever club you get fit for. What might feel great for me might not feel as good for you.
Have you tested the i230 that's the ping that's closest to the p770 the t100 and the cobra. I tested them and loved them for a players iron I really enjoyed them and found them more forgiving than my zx5 irons.
Ya I tested them in my last year's players iron video. ua-cam.com/video/Fgg0ZmKVIBU/v-deo.htmlsi=-0ycl3wbOxqaBvs5 I think I just wanted to hit something different. Every manufacturer has a couple players options so it was difficult choosing one over another. The i230 are good irons. Just a matter of if they work for you and if you enjoy them.
What would you suggest for someone in the 90mph to 93mph range with the 7 iron that got fitted (poorly fitted fyi) for the Nippon Modus pro 3 120 x flex in Titleist T150s but the ball flight is to low launching and low spinning. And who would you suggest i go see on my next fitting when i travel.Tried even a lighter Nippon 105 but in a regular in a more forgiving head just to see if i could get more height and distance of course went up but still came out low launching and low spinning and distance gaps was to big in 15 to 20yards range. So currently a bit lost as to which irons to get😅. Would greatly appreciate the help.
Hey Leonard. What I've found in my fittings is that it's hard to predict what a shaft/club combo is going to do without actually testing it. Ie. A shaft advertised as high launch, high spin might come out totally opposite. Haha. I think you were on the right track as far as going lighter and softer. Could try going weaker lofts. But check out my Titleist Iron fitting video if you haven't already. You can book a fitting with them if your looking at getting different shafts or they may even be able to help you out with a different set if you tell them your situation. ua-cam.com/video/T8sKXSEgkhA/v-deo.htmlsi=3a0OTZTqpHDicYQC You can also look into Mizuno as they seem to spin more and have high launch options. But it's hard to say. If you're in Canada, Modern golf would be a great option for a fitting as well. If you're in the US. Let me look into a place I can recommend.
@@NewNineGolf yeah sure i am also working in the golfing industry in the middle east and likely will go down to the US on my next vacation trip and look good fitters to sort out my dilemma hahaha.
We may be missing important consideration. So I think when we look at irons people look at how far it goes or right to left dispersion. But, shouldn't we look at how far we hit our shortest hybrid, then look at gapping? I got jpx tour because others went to far. So from 3 hybrid to gapping wedge, they are all 10 yards apart. Some others the gap from my hybrid to longest irons would not exist and gapping near pw and 9i are wider. Wider gapping for scoring iron did not make sense to me.
I think the JPX923 Forged would have been a better pick than the tour model to compare with the other irons you selected for this video. Also, I would have selected the i230 over the i59 in the Ping model.
Ya prob right with the forged. I did the i230 in my last year's players iron so wanted to change it up. Every brand has a couple different players model so it wasn't easy picking one.
Personally speaking I wish you kept the PXG and Takomo irons in all your reviews. Can’t beet price with a challenging economy buyers market. Your 2022 video has the most views also.
I'm going to be doing a direct to consumer iron video and will include the Takamos and hopefully the PXGs. Last year I got the PXG to test for like 2 days. I don't have them anymore. They went to more of a direct to consumer model so they don't give fitting carts/heads to facilities anymore.
I’m a little surprised you used the 770 instead of the P7MC for this test - I don’t really see the 770 as a players’ club, but in the players’ distance category.
Ya I was going back and forth between those. The thinking was the P7MC was more comparable to a straight CB. Because of the other clubs I chose have a bit of tech. I went with the p770. Still in the players iron category where the p790 are more of a players distance? So much overlap it's hard to pick a direct comparable. Lol.
@@NewNineGolf I appreciate your response! I know it’s difficult with so much tech coming in; maybe like a players’ tech/distance comparison and a players’ comparison separate? That could be really special, especially if you have the opportunity to bend them to the same loft. Thanks so much for your videos - especially love the honesty.
Seeing as sound is a major part of the feel, (just like smell does to taste), indoor “feel” is really hard to distinguish. Always hit a club outside for accurate feel
Swing speed between Taylormade and Mizuno were 2+ mph different. So yeah the Mizuno's spun more and flew shorter but you also swung the Mizuno's slower too.
Great selection of clubs to compare against one another. To be fair, 10 shots is a pretty small sample size...I don't know that I'd turn in those T100's just yet - a lot of tour players are hitting those irons!! Of course it helps that they get paid to play the clubs....🤣🤣
I still love my T100s. That's what happens when you test clubs though, you have one good session with something else and you contemplate swapping your whole bag. 😂
@@NewNineGolf It must be very difficult to stick with something even if it is working pretty well when you get to hit all of the latest and greatest releases from various manufacturers....there are so many great clubs out there in every category from the best players clubs, to the most game improvement. During this offseason I decided to switch from a very traditional CB iron (Mizuno JPX921 Tour) to the Titleist T200's. I wasn't hitting the Mizuno's terribly - but I only play around 5-6 rounds monthly in season and my ball striking is not as good as it needs to be to play well with those irons. Off centre hits are penalized badly. I've only hit the T200's in the simulator, but the distance across all hits is more consistent. I like that I'm about a club longer with the T200's and my ball flight is higher and coming down with a better descent angle than it was with the Mizunos. I've taken some lessons this offseason as well, and I'm excited about how things are looking heading into the new season!!
One thought on the Pings: Yes, they were well right of the centerline, BUT there were six balls within 12 yards distance from each other and only FEET apart laterally!
I swear I haven’t found 1 player that spins 923 tours less than 7000. Hopefully they bring a “T150” or power spec version of that club next year when the 925 cycle comes.
To be fair I usually tell people spin in your friend. I’m looking to play a split bag with blades and then CB’s in my 6, 5, and 4 iron. I feel that’s the issue with folks hitting GI clubs. It’s not all about distance when you can’t hold a green.
Why ? If you feel the need to spin it less or hit it further just adjust the lofts . I'd imagine they are probably 2 degrees weaker at least than the longer irons here. Yes they spin higher but in the real world when you play in the wet or out semi rough etc spin can drop off significantly making those power bats almost unplayable. I had a set of srixon 765 irons a few years ago, they went far. Out of the rough they would sometimes pop up with little spin resulting in serious flyers and unpredictability. Been playing my mizuno 921 tours for a couple of years now and they are great irons. Not a fan of all the delofting, plastic/rubber/tungsten in irons. Ruins the feel of them and makes them feel less solid. I'll always play either a pure blade or a very small cavity back. All the tech is fine in a driving iron or perhaps a 4 or 5 iron but when it comes to hitting numbers and half shots, controlling flight up and down you really want a more traditional iron for the best most consistent results
My fitting yesterday i ended up with t150s. I hit everything in the store minus Wilson. And now i have to wait for them to get here. My soul is dying inside. 😂
@@NewNineGolf the fitting ws eye opening. I didn't realize my 7 iron club speed was 95, and ball speed about 125. I'm 44 years old. I don't think I have too many years left swinging like this.
Check out my Titleist Iron video. ua-cam.com/video/T8sKXSEgkhA/v-deo.html I was one of the few to get better numbers from the T100. So putting the T150 in this video would not have done it any favors. Still a good club though for alot of people.
@@NewNineGolf great numbers on your review. Thanks. Im coming from 5years with the Ping i210 on PX LZ 6,5. I think the T150 are way better than the i210 especially with that Modus shaft. They are way softer and good looking. I once used the 718 AP2 set and this T150 feels like a huge improvement of the 718 Ap2. Im getting the same distances with the i210 though..
@@dobermanownerforlife3902 i bought the 4-PW, AW. Wish i added the 3i. These bad boys are very nice. I average 84 gross score but in the last 3 games with the T150 i have 2 rounds in 70s ( 78&76)
@@NewNineGolf my point is it's hard to say club x has good dispersion, when you wouldn't be hitting a 7 iron fromm 200 you'd be hitting a 5 iron in that club.
@stephenmarlow4610 respectfully, that would never happen for a couple reasons. 1 - Comparing a real 7 iron to a 5 iron are different lengths. 2- All fitting iron heads are 7 irons 3- the whole point of the video is to show the difference between each manufacturers same club so it’s an apples to apples comparison
“Players” irons is such a hard category now bc all 6 of those irons are pretty different. P770 and King Tour are more “players distance” compared to the rest. Should have swapped the 770’s for the P7MC and King Tours for the King CB Srixon always makes phenomenal irons but I find them lower spinning also
Ya it was tough for sure. Was 50/50 on the 770 vs 7MC. They are newer and I was just personally curious how they performed. The Cobra Forged Tec would be Cobras players distance iron? The King Tour Rickie plays is similar to the T100. The King CBs would be similar to the 620 CBs. That's the way I looked at it anyway.
Funny you say that. I included the ping i230 in last year's video and had people tell me how they're not a players club but a game improvement iron. Smh. Haha. But I agree, the i230 are great clubs. Just wanted to change it up and hit something else.
Fair enough... I just find it really interesting to see several Tour Pros...like Tyrell Hatton, Viktor Hovland and of course, Bryson De Chambeau ( all one length ) ..playing " Game improvement irons..@@NewNineGolf
Haha I know right? That's what I said. It's so tough picking which clubs to test cuz each manufacturer has a couple options. Just figured Id hit the one I haven't hit before.
If you’re going to compare distance between one brand from another, it’s only fair to bring up the difference in lofts between them as well. That outlier alone explains why mizuno was “going no where”
It weird, because i wouldn't consider your top ranked irons because the spin is so low. Ping or Mizuno were the winners imo, if you're really looking for a player's iron, shot shape, etc. Not to mention, you can always adjust shafts, lie angle, & loft to help increase or decrease spin in all of the clubs.
Ya I don't think there's any losers in this group. All great and you can definitely adjust them to suit your needs. For me personally, I hit it so high already that the spin didn't bother me. It was kinda lower than expected in this session which was weird because my T100 fitting session outdoor, I was getting close to 8000rpm with them. The consistency of the TM and the feel (personal preference) was why I picked it. 🍻
Accuracy or consistency slightly out-weights distance in the iron comparison. If the line is the pin target line, I’d rather the ball be closer to that line than long and left.
Surprised you got lower spin out of the ZX7s. I play them and had to get them bent down because I was getting 8000 RPM of spin with a 7 iron, and I have slightly slower swing speed than you.
Crazy. Golf doesn't make sense sometimes. Haha. I think it might be the shaft combo for me tho. I got fitted into these shafts and it knocked off like 1000 rpms vs my old shafts.
@@adambarnes4191 Ya there’s a ton of variables, but my experience has been that the ZX7 irons have a ton of stopping power. I like them for that because of the fact that they don’t go too far. When I tried out the p790 (I know they aren’t quite an apples to apples comparison, but they were the other set I considered), I was hitting the 7 iron 205 yds, which I honestly didn’t like. Distance is nice, but my concern was that I would have a huge gap between my PW and other wedges. I can reliably get 180 yds with the ZX7 irons which plays into my gapping better. Overall, the ZX7s work great for me and feel amazing, but I’d just go test them out and see if they work for you.
@baileynichols760 I'm in J15CB now with x100. Driver SS is 110-112. I'm looking for a bit more tech in my irons but hesitant to go into hollow body. Zx7 was my first thought so I could stay with Endo forged. Also, i230 because Ping is consistent, but man, I hate to pay $400 more for a made in China cast head when I could get a Japanese forging instead. Also have thought about moving into the Fuji Axiom as I'm now creeping toward 45 y/o.
@@adambarnes4191 man I hope I can keep that much SS at 45! You’re hanging with me at 25 y/o! I can say that the ZX7 definitely has that Japanese forged feel. Hits out of the center you’ll barely feel that you hit a ball, hits off center you’ll know exactly where you missed. I switched from Taylormade m6 irons to the ZX7 and love that I don’t get that jumpy shot ever anymore that I used to get with the M6. ZX7 is super consistent distance for me. Still has a little bit of forgiveness in the small cavity back so you don’t lose a ton of distance on off center hits (usually about 5-8 yds), but still feel it. I love these irons all around both looks and feel wise. Also, pretty sure you can get them at Costco 4-pw for ~$1000 so I’d try them out at a pga superstore or equivalent and then head on over to Costco if you like them.
When you're launching it 19 degrees and losing distance compared to other clubs that are still in the ideal window for launch, height, landing angle and spin.
Love these comparison videos but when you said “firm, hard face and clicky, comparable to the Mizuno,” I almost spit out my drink! I’ve never heard a Mizuno described as that. Still a fan of your channel but you’re on thin ice bud. 😂
@@Kdpeters80 I think he was comparing it to the Ping. Which I agree with by the way. The ping is pretty clicky. But we respectfully disagree on the Mizuno.
Ya I dunno what it is. I hit my buddies 919 tours and they felt so good. Maybe I was just expecting them to feel the same and it threw me off. Haha. Either way. Still great clubs.
I don’t think you’re comparing the right models, making it a bit of an odd test. Half of these models were players distance irons, and half of them were players irons.
Perhaps the P770 you can classify as players distance. Rickie plays those King Tours, Brooks plays the Srixons. T100, i59 and JPX 923 are all on tour as well. Let me know which players irons you would like to see compared. Thanks 🍻
This is entertaining, but ten shots is just not a reliable sample, statistically. Of you redid the test the next day, the distortions would be different. This is why I don’t trust fittings.
@@NewNineGolf Split it up over like 5-6 sessions. You need the numbers to be statistically significant to make any real conclusion on objective metrics.
I think your methodology may be flawed. Eliminating the best and worst shots and then taking the average may need to be rethought. Also, this method lowers your population. Maybe, use the median with the entire 10 shots. Finally, since your sample size is small, try a t-test.

I do compare all the drivers. Video series was earlier in the year. I believe the Aerojet was the furthest
Nice video newnine 👍.
You going to do a MB vid ?, would be awesome to see 😁
Yup will do those soon
For all of you that are saying the P770's aren't a players Iron.... They are a player and a player distance. They are considered in both categories. That's the exact reason why they were made that way.
Great Video buddy!
I did a fitting 3 weeks ago. My experience was Cobra King Tour won by a mile. Srixon Zx was 2nd, and Ping Blueprint S was 3rd. I wanted to like the P770s, but the number and accuracy was not on par to Cobras.
Interesting. Ya those Cobras are super nice irons. Enjoy your new sticks. 🍻
it's nice to see that cobra have come to the party.......club selection is subjective but i don't think there is a bad club out in the market........in depth review and fair❤❤❤❤
Agreed. They all make great clubs these days. Thanks for watching and appreciate the message. 🍻
I got fitted last years and ended up with a set a P770. went from a 14hdc to a 9hdc in one season!
That's awesome! Congrats. Keep it up. 💪
I can’t find your DTC only video yet? Have you made it? Nice video btw I subscribed
Thanks for the sub Luke! I have not made it yet. I'm still waiting on some of these companies to send out their irons. Hopefully I'll get it soon. 🍻
Haha oh that's perfect then. It's harder to find a club that spins more these days. Enjoy your sticks. ⛳🏌️
@CAM-hc8ip thanks for sharing! Glad I’m not the only one with this experience.
Excellent video. I enjoyed that. Srixon is so underrated.
Right?! Thanks for watching!
Please do a blade video like this! Keep killing it🔥
Will do. Thank you 🙏🏻
Well done post very thorough review keep it up
Thank you 🙏🏻👊🏻
Would love a blade video. My Cobra CB’s just got here and would love to see what these are up against
I can definitely do that. Those Cobra CBs are nice. Will mostly be doing MBs but can throw a couple's CBs in there. 🍻
When in doubt, bring in the big gun, Jeremy. Loved my fitting session with him.
He’s the best!
bc boy here- I only wish I could hit those blades, for now its the cobra speed zone til I get my golfing legs going
Yes, I wanna see that the takomo clubs!
Can you also do a review on ping i530, Srixon MK5, TM P790. I'm a 8-10 handicapper.
You like those modus 120s? I need to knock some spin off
Yup love ‘em!
Very informative
Did you manage to get a set of Kirkland irons? Would love to see a review on them.
They haven’t officially been released in Canada yet and the secondary market is gouging a mean profit. Will try to get some from Costco directly.
@NewNineGolf I mean...it's a better performer for them hahaha. I understand it...that Mc is little
Could you do a similar test with the mid-handicap irons like the P790, Titleist T200, Ping i525 etc please. There are more mid handicappers around 12 hcap than below 9 playing the game. Thanks
I did a game improvement iron with a 16 cap. Check it out. ua-cam.com/video/zhAFnGX8Thc/v-deo.html
Have you done an old vs new comparison video?
Im stil playing with 20 year old Nike Pro combos and i hit them a dream but do wonder what the difference would be
I have not yet. Good idea and I'll put it on the list! Thank you. 🍻
Maybe a dumb question but what is the purpose of the small white line on the bottom of the Ping irons? Or is it cosmetic only?
I think it's just a visual thing for alignment.
I’m trying to get into a more players iron and transition out of my jpx 923 hot metal pros. Any suggestions?
If you like Mizuno, you can try the jpx forged or tours? I really like the T100 of P770 if you want a little extra distance. I don't know if that's much help but I would go test a few and see what you like.
Iv been using Wilson staff cb.
Great comparison test. I’m not so sold on eliminating the worst shot and the best shot. if that’s the case, you might as well leave them both in because they’ll average out. I think eliminating your worst shot is a better way to go.
Based on the results are you going into the P770’s?
Ya you might be right. Maybe I'll change it up for my next videos. They were all sooo close that I'm going to stick with my T100. Just got them. Haha.
@@NewNineGolf don’t blame you. I love my Titleist 2021 T100S irons (6-48 wedge). Recently added a T150 5 iron. Yeah I would eliminate that one bad shot and keep all the rest in. Merry Christmas
What do u think is good for a 6.5 HC with a natural fade
It’s so hard to just throw out 1 club. My honest answer is what ever club you get fit for. What might feel great for me might not feel as good for you.
Have you tested the i230 that's the ping that's closest to the p770 the t100 and the cobra. I tested them and loved them for a players iron I really enjoyed them and found them more forgiving than my zx5 irons.
Ya I tested them in my last year's players iron video.
ua-cam.com/video/Fgg0ZmKVIBU/v-deo.htmlsi=-0ycl3wbOxqaBvs5
I think I just wanted to hit something different. Every manufacturer has a couple players options so it was difficult choosing one over another.
The i230 are good irons. Just a matter of if they work for you and if you enjoy them.
No T150 on this category? Great video.
You can book a fitting with them if your looking at getting different shafts or they may even be able to help you out with a different set if you tell them your situation.
ua-cam.com/video/T8sKXSEgkhA/v-deo.htmlsi=3a0OTZTqpHDicYQC
You can also look into Mizuno as they seem to spin more and have high launch options.
Wider gapping for scoring iron did not make sense to me.
i use titleist t100 3 Gen 5-pw , sm9 wedges , with X7 shaft. i dont find any difficulty even as a beginner level .
What’s your hcp?
Hey great video. 👍
Thanks! 🙏
Saludos de CDMX de Leo Martínez Golf Academy ⛳
I think the JPX923 Forged would have been a better pick than the tour model to compare with the other irons you selected for this video. Also, I would have selected the i230 over the i59 in the Ping model.
Ya prob right with the forged. I did the i230 in my last year's players iron so wanted to change it up. Every brand has a couple different players model so it wasn't easy picking one.
For all of the P770 VS P7MC comments.. I play the P7MC and get the same numbers as the P770 @ a similar swing speed!
Good idea. I think we should be able to make that happen. Appreciate your support. Thank you.
Seeing as sound is a major part of the feel, (just like smell does to taste), indoor “feel” is really hard to distinguish. Always hit a club outside for accurate feel
Clubs feel different when it’s -10 outside and hitting off snow 🤷♂️
@@NewNineGolf they sure do, especially thin shots! 😅
Swing speed between Taylormade and Mizuno were 2+ mph different. So yeah the Mizuno's spun more and flew shorter but you also swung the Mizuno's slower too.
I dunno why i was swinging the TM the faster. If you look at the other clubs. I was swinging them similar to the Mizuno.
@@NewNineGolf might be as simple as confidence with the club. The mizuno does have a much smaller profile compared to the 770.
@@NewNineGolf haha - true enough.... golfers are such a fickle bunch.
Honestly I think the ping was the best, just because everything was right of the line no two way misses
My p770 spin rate only 5k rpm. Yours so good at 7k rpm. How did you do that.
I typically have high spin with irons. You can changing your spin with either a different shaft, loft, ball or swing speed.
@@NewNineGolf thanks bro
Congrats! You'll love them! The wait is the best part. Or maybe the unboxing/unwrapping and then organizing them in your bag. Haha.
@@NewNineGolf the fitting ws eye opening. I didn't realize my 7 iron club speed was 95, and ball speed about 125. I'm 44 years old. I don't think I have too many years left swinging like this.
Fittings are definitely eye opening. Here's to many many more years! 🍻
Curious why you chose the King Tour and not the CB or MB for this.
Because of the other models I was comparing. I’ll do a cb/mb specific review
@@NewNineGolf Interesting. I would consider the P770 and the Tour to be a bit more like a Players Lite than the others. Great vid in any case.
The Titleist T150 should be on this list, especially with that Modus NSPro shaft.
Check out my Titleist Iron video. ua-cam.com/video/T8sKXSEgkhA/v-deo.html
I was one of the few to get better numbers from the T100. So putting the T150 in this video would not have done it any favors. Still a good club though for alot of people.
I bought the full set 3 through gap. They were that good. Didn't bother blending. I didn't care much for the t200 for top end.
Maybe you should test the club from each set that goes the same distance.
How would I know how far they go without testing them? I'm confused.
2- All fitting iron heads are 7 irons
3- the whole point of the video is to show the difference between each manufacturers same club so it’s an apples to apples comparison
“Players” irons is such a hard category now bc all 6 of those irons are pretty different. P770 and King Tour are more “players distance” compared to the rest. Should have swapped the 770’s for the P7MC and King Tours for the King CB
Srixon always makes phenomenal irons but I find them lower spinning also
Ya it was tough for sure.
The PING i230 should be in there..for sure, Power spec loft, on AXIOM Shafts..
That outlier alone explains why mizuno was “going no where”
Wym? I did bring up lofts between them when I was going over the data. They're actually the same lofts as the T100.
The pings feel like the MIZUNO’s
I don't understand how you managed to swing the mizuno 10mph slower with the same shaft?????
I don’t think you’re looking at the right stats. My average club head speed was within 1-2 mph of all the other clubs.
Team Taylormade!
T150's would have performed well in this test and gave the 770's and ZX7 MKII's a run for the top spot
I did a full Titleist fit (video on my page) and the t100 performed better for me
Hmmm... no PXG, Callaway, and maybe one or two others.
The P7mc is closer to the players category
Why delete it though?
Hollow body vs 1 piece forged, or cast, and the hollow body is easier to keep straight and goes further. Imagine that.
The i59 are hollow body. T100 are not 1 piece forged and cobras have an insert. I'd imagine the engineers jobs are safe.. lol
first!
🍻
If you are focusing so much on distance, you shouldn’t be dropping the closest to the line for your best shot. You should drop the longest good one.
Every test I've seen on YT has Zx7 spin less than most other comparable irons. I wanted to get a set, but the lower spin has me worried.
Since when is 7000 RPM on a 7 iron a "ton" of spin?
When you're launching it 19 degrees and losing distance compared to other clubs that are still in the ideal window for launch, height, landing angle and spin.
Love these comparison videos but when you said “firm, hard face and clicky, comparable to the Mizuno,” I almost spit out my drink! I’ve never heard a Mizuno described as that. Still a fan of your channel but you’re on thin ice bud. 😂
So far only the JPX lineup felt like that 🤷♂️
I think he said the p770 was more clicky off the face that the jpx tour. Am I wrong?
@@Kdpeters80 I think he was comparing it to the Ping. Which I agree with by the way. The ping is pretty clicky. But we respectfully disagree on the Mizuno.
Ya I dunno what it is. I hit my buddies 919 tours and they felt so good. Maybe I was just expecting them to feel the same and it threw me off. Haha. Either way. Still great clubs.
The P770s actually felt better tbh. Haha it's so subjective though and that booth in hitting in prob has some effect on feel cuz of the sound.
Where’s Wilson?
Did I hear an “I Love You Man” reference in there ?
Haha probably. I always reference movies. N that's definitely one of them. Lol
@@NewNineGolf hahaha
Srixon got robbed 😢
Could have easily won!
It’s realistic tho. You and I aren’t robots. All we have our best stuff that day.
I just don't see how you can make a conclusion by hitting like 10 balls.
You’d be surprised the fatigue of hitting 100-200 balls.
@@NewNineGolf Split it up over like 5-6 sessions. You need the numbers to be statistically significant to make any real conclusion on objective metrics.
Bro can you stop saying “omg that’s so fuckin tight” I gotta put headphones on bcuz my girl asking me wtf I’m watchin lol
LMAOOO 😂
I think your methodology may be flawed. Eliminating the best and worst shots and then taking the average may need to be rethought. Also, this method lowers your population. Maybe, use the median with the entire 10 shots. Finally, since your sample size is small, try a t-test.
