Good stuff Jay. I just completed a fitting at Club Champion and these two irons (6i) had the best smash factors in the test out of the six I tested. I ended up going with the Cobra King Tour because felt so much better to me. It was hot off the face, yet buttery soft. I have been a Mizuno iron player for the last 30 years but the difference in feel was enough to make the switch.
Thanks very much 👍 trying to get as much good content as I can to get the subscriber numbers up, have more pull with the manufacturers I don't cover very well that way 👍
Not many people doing the off center strike comparison. Not sure why. Its very important as the average golfer misses the center fairly often. My miss is on the toe. I want to know if im going to lose 5 yrds of carry or 15. Thanks for the great review from a new subscriber.
Haven't hit the Titleist irons as yet, but the other 2, that is a tough one. Possibly the Cobra if I'm honest but it's such a tight decision that it could go either way on different days 😊👍🏻
Love this video, I am considering both of these irons at the moment so this was really helpful. Do you ever test Srixon irons? Would Love to see the zx7 in this mix. Thanks for all of the great content!
Hi Dave, hoping to receive the Srixon irons any day now (4,5 and 7) will be doing full forgiveness reviews and also the normal comparison test too. Make sure you're subscribed and share the channel to all your fellow golfers 👍
Great insights to consider in realistic shots on the course and range. Selfishly, one of my favorite clubs to consider is the Wilson CB and it would be great to see it compared to the 223 or other like club.
Hi Jim. Attempting to reach out to Wilson although they are seemingly quite difficult to reach. As soon as I can get holf of the product to review, I'll of course add it to the list of compares 👍
There would possibly be sick distances but all that could be adjusted within custom. Although they feel fairly close in all regards but I haven't measured all of the above parameters, although shaft was the same length 👍
4 hdcp. Originally went with Miz Pro 223 / dyn gold 105 and just never liked the feel of the club. Could have been the shaft, but IMO, the feel of the 4,5,6 and 7 (springy face or whatever it is) was just not my cup of tea. My old clubs were Cobra S3 Pro (very similar to the current CB/MB). Played about 12 rounds with the Miz Pro 223s and just made the decision to trade them in for the King Tour. The feel of the Cobra King Tour is just so much better. I know Mizuno has this reputation for great feeling irons and I dont disagree, but I do not think this cromoly forging thing (4, 5, 6 and 7) is working for Mizuno with the Pro 223.
Never to properly do a review and not in a way to collect any true data. Although in all honesty I can't see a huge difference but then again it's very uncommon to see a singular model change and have a huge needle shift. It's most commonly a gentle nudge in the right direction every iteration 👍
Look up Maltby Playability Factor. He measures centre of gravity from side to side, top to bottom and front to back then rates clubs. The best part is its consistent across all models and manufacturers. MIM rates higher than 223 then King Tour.
In that case (and we aren't sure as yet what options will be in the new Mizuno Pro Range coming in Jan/Feb) you may have to look elsewhere, something like the new Cobra CB irons would work very well and come in LH Custom 👍
For the most part you are absolutely correct, although I'm assuming you are not a long time viewer as I'm not shaft sensitive (done lots of tests now and published a couple of videos about it) and even to the point where I have tested a ladies flex shaft ultralightweight against an X Stiff 130g heavyweight. Absolutely no difference in club head delivery. I am lucky that I fall into a very small group of people that do not offend the shaft in any particular way that causes the normal differences within flight. So for this teet and every iron test I do I'm able to have different shafts withoit issue 👍 Thanks for the comment and for watching 👍
No difference in performance. Comes down to feel, appearance and preference. I'd play the Cobra's if I had the choice. I'd still pit the JPX Tours, the new Callaway's and maybe the Srixon's against these to see which one is the best. I would rather play a 1020 carbon steel variant. I'm not sure why they are using all these other metals like chromoly. I think 1025e is equivalent to 1020 though isn't it? I guess I like the buttery soft irons lol.
yep....every set of hollow back players ive had has bigger drop off on mishits than well struck one. i525, lynx, pro 223. had em all. zx5 way better. thin same distance as nutted. immediately after switching from i525 i legitimately was complaining about swings i caught thin and expected to come up way short only to birdie... currently playing 923hmp for a bit more forgiveness and slightly bigger profile than 223. would like to switch back to the zx5 feel and performance though. should have just bought shafts i liked for zx5 instead of switching out everything.

Someones crushing it with the videos lately.... Nice Job!

Jay, another home run video. Can’t wait for the King forged tec video.
Hopefully will be early next week 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞
You are spot on with the reviews. I own the 223s and the toe/low strikes are very forgiving. 223s are staying In the bag for a while.
Have the mizuno pro 243, wondering if cobra king tour or Titleist t 100's are better. Mid handicapper, but improving

Thanks very much for the kind feedback 👍🏻
More in the way of Forgiveness and different swing speed reviews and comparisons coming very soon 👍🏻
Great video. If you ever get time, I’d also be really interested in seeing a deep dive into how the Cobra King Tour compares to the Ping i230.
I'll pop that on the list to test 👍
@@AskGolfNutSame here don’t wanna go back to ping but those your irons have my 👀
Cobra King Tour, Mizuno 223, or Titleist T100s. Which one do you prefer and why?

@@AskGolfNut Always! Looking forward to it.
Love your detailed reviews.
I tried both of these on a simulator. I hit the King Cobra Tour the best and purchased them immediately. I hit them so good and they felt amazing.
Mizuno looks stunning.
They do, it'll be interesting to see what the new Pro 243 has to offer in the looks department 👍
@@AskGolfNut Do you mean the Pro 223 is being replaced soon?
In the next 6 months the new Mizuno Pro line up will arrive 👍
Mizuno said they where not releasing any new irons for a while
They're not releasing any new irons this year.... But it's already early August so 2024 isn't far away 😉👍
This video won me over as a subscriber. Looking forward to the Srixon irons review.
Thanks very much for subscribing, fingers crossed the Srixon irons will be landing any time now 🤞🤞🤞

Jay.. are these 2 clubs identical in all respects, total weight; shaft; length, SW, etc ??

So what’s the 223 doing different to the Forged other than being a touch smaller
Great review and comparison filled with relevant information clearly communicated❤️👍
Always great video's. Keep up the good work.
Cobra Tour is proving to be a brilliant iron. Great comparison again Jay. Cheers👍
You're very welcome Cam, glad you enjoyed the video 👍
Thanks for the review! Cost is important!
Incredibly helpful review
Really glad you found it helpful 👍🏻

I have thr cobras.
In love with them.
Draw fade straight.

Did you ever hit the Cobra MIM tour, how does it compare to the new king tour without the MIM?

I have the 223's but sort of miss my mp20's. I think i need to find something in between the 2
The JPX923 Tour irons fit in between the full on Blade and the 223’s 👍

very insightful. Thanks
Should be using the same shaft to test a club head... different shafts will operate differently
@AskGolfNut Looking fwd to the Zx7 Mkii vs 223/i230. My next set will come from that group. Thanks for the great work.
