Same problem, it was so old and crusty I just replaced it anyway, one thing to note: if you go around the right side of the throttle body you can pull it right out and unplug it way easier than the left side. Thanks 👍

Mister, great video. But the matter in my F150 2001 is the sluggish acceleration at total stop. So, could it help to solve this matter cleaning that components according with the video?
I was thinking of just replace the idle air control valve since I left the same one on again. O'Reilly told me that it could be the throttle position sensor. If anyone had this same issue and got it fixed let me know pleace .
iac only effects idle. A bad tps usually causes things like the throttle not to respond correctly when you press on it or one most common the engine will rev real high on its own in park or neutral.
I have a 2000 manual. when I push the clutch in, the rpm will stay up. My mechanic unplugged the IAC and that issue went away. Of course it bog out a wee bit at idle, but the racing RPM issue went bye-bye. He said, "bad IAC, or bad computer." Think he's right?
It is hard to say since one would need a rather sophisticated scan tool to pin point the issue. Removing the IAC and cleaning it is rather inexpensive and may well be worth a try. I wish you the best on your repair.
@@travisburt2322 did you find the problem , I have a 1999 f150 , and has a mind of it's own , normal idle rpm is 600 but at different times it jumps up high rpn ,
@bbbjim1fixedit it is the iac purge valve. The hose that comes off that part and runs to the back of the top part of motor. It has a Crack in it the size of around 2 inches. I rigged it it seem to keep it from sounding like it's going to die. Now it's figuring out what it's called. It has a green tip thing at the end

I have a 2001 ford f150 5.4 only at cold starts the rpms drop then comes back up again. No check engine light, no codes. First I cleaned the throttle body with new seal gasket the issue went away. After a few months it came back and I cleaned the idle air control valve put it back on and also went away. A few weeks after it did it again any help on what could it be ti get it fix thank you.
This was done on a 2000 5.4L, it is located on the top of the engine near the fire wall. I am not aware of any tests for this part. I wish you the best on fixing your vehicle
you may wish to check for some check engine codes, several things affect idle: cracked hoses having vacuum leaks, MAF sensor, EGR issues, I wish you the best on finding your issue
When I bought this truck (2004 v6 manual f-150 xl) and he said something about a vacuum problem and the heat only runs through the defrost vents, do you think the iac is the problem? It isles between 790-1000 a lot
what i believe he was talking about is the blend door actuator (changes the location of the heat). That not working would not affect the idle. If cleaning the IAC does not work try cleaning the MAF sensor, I have a video on that. I wish you the best on finding the idle issue
There is a vacuum line under the throttle body that also connects to the PCV valve on your passenger side valve cover, the elbow that connects it to the throttle body dries and cracks causing a vacuum leak that makes the truck idle high and effects other things that require vacuum to operate...
The electrical connector has a locking feature, I can't remember if it is the style you push down on while pulling off or the type you lift the tab up while pulling off. I do wish you the best on your repair
You may also wish to look for a vacuum leak on the intake hoses, if you have a check engine code for lean bank one or two. I wish you the best on your repair
I started having a low idle issue then a vibration issue that came shortly after. I was really sure the 2 problems were related. It turns out my harmonic balancer was bad and completely separated a few days later. Unfortunately it put a huge hole in my timing chain cover. Not a good thing for sure
I have replaced the cam shaft sensor and one next to it, throttle position sensor. Still does same thing, when you start it makes a knocking spinal noise. Give it gas goes away, if I am low idle it will start making the spinal knock noise til you give it gas in neutral. Anyone have any ideas. 2010 f150
Tryed this did not work long cleaning it made the problem wrost started humming after 2 time cleaning replace at parts house and i get a lifetime warranty.

@@bbbjim1fixedit thank you, let check out this.
Is this problem known to f150?
In my case the revolutions go up a little when I turn on the AC and they get normal when I turn it off, do you think this may help?
The engine is supposed to increase in rpms when the air is turned on to ensure the engine does not stall when the a/c compressor kicks in.
