Ive been tracking down a leak for a while and i think you may be on to my problem. thanks man, will try this out this weekend. I have the 4.2 mine is bucking like, when trying to park it or maneuvering from drive to reverse. Also when stopped at redlights its a 50/50 chance its going to loop low to high revs or stall out.
Did you ever figure out if that was the problem? I have a 4.2 as well but we don’t have the piece of metal that the throttle body mounts to like the 4.6 has. Was just curious if you found the two port hole on our plastic version. Thanks!
Want to point out the other side behind the throttle plate never use cleaners or clean it mine has a sticker that says their is a special coating and not to clean it. My truck doesn't have this issue but will occasionally stall if I accelerate fast then quickly slow down other than that it runs like a champ.
Always start with the simple things then move to bigger more involved things on repairs and always quadruple check everything and everything you replaced or cleaned I even forgot one timing cover bolt on my 4.6 luckly found it and popped it back in started to freak out I even torqued all the bolts and then next day found I had a missing bolt there was a blank space for bolt next to the real bolt hole I got confused and over looked it thinking that was a blank to lol 3rd times the charm
Tied up in life but my boy got 420 subscribers!!! Really hoping this fixes my truck almost at 250,000 miles and it just randomly started rough idle after one must start and then it almost started died and now this
Ethanol gas is the problem cleaned mine years back all engines will get clogged my wife's honda odyssey 3.5 egr ports clogged solid had to drill them out literally plus had to remove the intake and continue to clean out ports after cleaning good to go for years
The problem I have it idles in park but soon as I put in gear it wants to die .I’ve cleaned the valve on the back , also took 4 screws out of throttle body clean carbon . Have a whistling sound through air cleaner . I took hose off of the EGR valve doesn’t seem change idle at all . Still wants die as soon as you put in gear ???
Thank you. Your experience and explanation about the connections between EGR and Intake changed my mind to not underestimate it can get clogged in short time because of the car's age. Mine is a 2003 f150. I just cleaned the whole upper motor with the Intake and its stalling when I turn the steering wheel. Someone said it might be a cylinder going bad because of low combustion. Maybe a sparkplug is blown. But, I just changed all 8 of them. You have any idea?
@@TobiasRaphael1 Yelp. I changed my fuel pump. Still same problem. Only thing I have to replace is throttle position sensor and coil packs. But the thing is . It never happens in warm weather. Only cold mornings.
@@TobiasRaphael1 I'm gonna keep looking into it every winter tho. I replaced oxygen sensors , also . I just need to replace coils and tps sensor. That's all. If I fix it I will post. Or reply. Sell yall 2023 winter
Mine dosen't have these small ports it has 1 big one and I have changed spark plugs and coils and still a rough idle like its flooding it sounds like it has a race cam in it, then it loads up on idle then when pushing on the accelerator it coughs and stumbles and takes forever to pick it back up then it will run fine at higher rpm but as soon as I idle down it starts the process all over again
I had come across a thread awhile ago that explained why the throttle body gums up like this and how to fix it. Apparently the passenger side oil ducts going down to the oil pan are too small to handle the amount of oil being pumped to the head and therefore causing oil to be sucked through the PCV valve and into the intake manifold. The fix was to add 4 pieces of 1/2 inch steel tubing such as fuel line along the bottom of the valve cover down to the top of the oil pan so oil can feed out of the top of the head faster. The driver's side doesn't have this problem for some reason! May be more of a hassle than cleaning the throttle body to do this but may also keep other issues from happening such as sensors getting dirty and catylitic converters. (if equipped LOL) to clog prematurely but it is what it is! LOL Cheers.
sorry to be so offtopic but does someone know of a method to get back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly lost my password. I would love any help you can offer me

Spencer .40 I’ve done this with my 97 thought that was the problem...turns out it wasn’t. I’m not getting vacuum to the upper intake at all, any suggestions?
Thanks for the video. Still have an idle issue, mainly my 03 f150 5.4 wont hold idle on cold weather after I cleaned the IAC and EGR. wish I saw your video first before I did all that. Will do as soon as the weather breaks here in okie land. Thanks again
You did a good job explaining it very good job you help me out a lot thank you bud appreciate it thanks for your video helped out a lot keep them coming
Remove the electronics, and submerge it all in hot simple green or green monster cleaner, almost a simmer......let em soak for 15 to 20 mins, and when they come out all the crud and carbon is gone and looks like new aluminum 😉

I think my throttle body holes are clogged up and the 4 bolts was easy to remove but the pipe that is on the right side will not come off. Sprayed it several times but the nut will not move. Can that steel line be replaced? I will cut it off if it can be replaced.
An exhaust shop may can replace it. Or you could do it yourself with the right material and a small welder. I would try applying heat to it to expand the nut your trying to loosen

Make sure where the coil pack goes it don't have water I had this problem I used a siphon pump to take the water out and it runs fine
