Another Master of Sound! He and the Mothership Connection brought forth an energy that out lasted disco and into the 80s with awesome flavor. Unsung for the caravan of talent that rode with him into their era and their individual successes afterwards. George Clinton you are a monument unto yourself for the vision of free sound that deconstructed, normal. Thank you, George.
Knee Deep is one of those songs that you NEVER play the short version or cut it off. It MUST be played from beginning to end for full effect. 15 minutes and 21 seconds of goodness goin on in that song. The breakdowns, Phillipe weaving in and out of the joint . If folks remember, the racist disco sucks debacle was on July 12,1979. Knee Deep was released the following month on August 21st and on the album you saw the quote that said its purpose was to "rescue dance music from the blahs". Musicianship all over this joint. "something about the music...."
I went to HS with a girl that ended up singing backup for George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic, i was working security at a concert when I heard someone yelling my name from inside a limo...Patrice. Nobody would believe how hard I crushed on her in hs, i would give her my lunch money to sing to me. I hope she's happy and living well...after the show she invited me backstage to smoke and chill with the group.
This is my favorite track from him and his group. The first time I heard it when I was in the barbershop getting my haircut back when I was 4. This was a monster hit on the radio.
I'm sure as the time continues to fly by, i miss the pfunk family that has transitioned. The many concerts throughout the country back in the days of their prime yrs was beyond imaginary! I can't even count the number of times i have seen them! Beautiful days!
George, the great organizer and orchestrater of the The P. The blind stare of a million eyes looking hard but won’t realize that they will never see the P🤩
George Clinton is a music icon and one of the great creators of "funk"...Pfunk to be exact!...but he was not very cool with regards to the way he treated his fellow band mates and artist. Look it up...he did some real foul shit.
“…Philippé was over in the corner.”🔥 Much respect to George Clinton. Nelson George knows what to ask and how to get the best out of artists. #legends

Teared up and remembered when my Dad brought the record home, we lived in Detroit and he had heard about it being laid at westbound studios
George Clinton resembles Bobby Brown 20 years from now.
🤣💀
Yep, I've said the same thing several times. Today's Bobby could play George during this time period. 📽🎞
Thank you!…I thought it was just me 😏
Thank you Mr. George! I liked & subscribed.

Junie & Bernie were child prodigies… in church & classically trained..respectively.
