    Being barefoot is the way to garden! I hope to purchase the tool to make soil blocks for next year's seed starting.

    Nigel thank you for the wonderful teaching. I am learning a whole lot from your videos. If you live in a place where starting soil is not available how do you use garden soil and avoid weed seeds. I've been looking into using dry cow manure mixed with sand instead. Any ideas?

      Use compost instead of garden soil in your mix. This will take some experimenting.

    Never seen this before. Love it. I will try making a larger block as in my community;(indoor weed growers) this will help with transplant shock as we love auto flowers that come with a genetic life so anything to lessen stunting will be a bonus. Will be experimenting will different compounds as I like the idea of introducing what you need. Thanks.

    Hi Nigel, I'm reading your book and applying your helpful tips in my family's vegetable garden in southern Italy. I have to buy rare earth magnets for structured water but I don't know which ones to choose because there are so many sizes. can you tell me the size of the ones you use? Thanks

    Curious why 7 stirs?

      Spinning in a vortex adds structure to the water as is evident by the lowering of the temperature of the water when doing so. Seven times works for me. You could do more or less depending on what you were trying to accomplish.

    I noticed your using Vermont Compost. I bought a couple of bags this year. Have you noticed gold like foil flakes in your compost?

      could it be vermiculite?

    • @hijrahsociety
      @hijrahsociety 3 роки тому

      Not at all. What’s in mine is gold in color and appear metallic. When I rub it it breaks into tiny shiny flakes.

      L Hayes you were right. It is vermiculite.

    when you say soil what do you actually mean ?is it just regular garden soil or could i use compost as a substitute . very interesting concept on mineral amendments, i must discover more. thanks for sharing

      I have not perfected a home made mix yet, but compost would be a major constituent.

      I found out about and started using the soil block makers this year and they've been fantastic but I am still struggling with the right soil mix too. Most people use roughly 2 parts compost, 2 parts Peat Moss, & 1 part Perlite with differing nutrient amendments. Look up videos from Eliot Coleman, he's been doing this for many years.
      Now I need to get Nigel's book to keep my plants alive once they make it out into the garden....

    Nigel! Sorry for my English, Portuguese Brazil.
    Have you ever tried Aloe Vera with brown sugar instead of the nettle, or even complementing it with the nettle?
    Thanks for your attention!

      @nigelpalmer3439  3 роки тому

      No, but give it a try. This plant is very moist and may require more sugar.
