    Recently I discovered biochar. I am working on to build my own double barrel to produce enough of it to apply in my garden. The biochar connects with all the amendments you are writing about and creates "accomodation" for them. If you haven't tried it yet it's worth to try maybe on some test plot to check if there will be a difference.

    Upon my request, my daughters gave me your Regenerative Growers Guide for my 75th birthday. I have been gardening for over 50 years, and I'm always surprised and delighted at the creativity and intelligence of people like you who show us time honored, natural ways to improve our food. I've read large portions of the book, skimmed some, and I'm trying to figure out what to do next. Lol. I have almost 7 acres and therefore lots of huge weeds around my property. I just made a weed soak with water, and I'm anxious to learn more. Fall is such a good time to think ahead for next year's garden. Do you have any suggestions as to the most important thing I should be doing now?

      Thank you. Sounds like you are doing what you should be doing! Making shelf stable amendments is a good idea. See the long term strategy sections in the book for other ideas. I do have an on line workshop scheduled for next month that may be of interest. See my website for details. www.nigel-palmer.com/workshopdescription.

    for solubles like boron, for even distribution and to hold these in place particularly in the case of boron (and other anions - negative charged) that easily leaches, dissolve this in compost tea or any carbon source

    • @nigelpalmer3439
      @nigelpalmer3439  3 роки тому +1

      If you look at the analysis of the amendment recipes (see appendix E in book) you will see that boron is in them all to varying degrees. All are carbon based being made from plants, shells, bones etc. I have found that "compost teas" have much more diluted constituents.

    I am intrigued by all your knowledge and experience. I have bought your book and read large sections but I find it hard to decide where to start due to advanced information overload. A simple step by step approach would help. Regenerative gardening for dummies.

      Growing food is a life long endeavor. Like all good things it is the journey that nurtures the soul. Every year is a new canvas to paint so "start" by add some of these ideas each year. During the winter months you could make a vinegar extraction using those egg shells in the kitchen and order seeds for next years garden. Don't be overwhelmed but enjoy the ride. I do offer a class which may help with the why which may help organize your thought.

    Would you please be able to do a video explaining the benefits of using LAB in the garden both as a soil drench and a foliar spray? Also, do you know if any of these amendments outlined in your amazing book would have any detrimental effects if being used on Australian natives that are phosphorous sensitive? Thanks so much for your wonderful contribution :)

    This is very helpful. What if the weeds are creepers like climbing dayflower. What process would I need to follow to prepare the garden for planting without propagating the weeds

    Do you know the meter reading for your paramagnetic dust? It’s an area of great intrigue for me. Because it is being carried on the wind, I’m assuming it’s micronized… do you buy it that way?

    • @nigelpalmer3439
      @nigelpalmer3439  2 роки тому +1

      It is reported to be very high, although I have not seen these result. I have been told 1800. It is a local basalt that I found many years ago by reviewing geological survey maps, visiting quarries and analyzing samples. The dust is a waste product at a quarry. They gave it away when I first found it. Now they charge a very low price for it. It has become very popular of late.

      @nigelpalmer3439  3 роки тому +1

      Don't know much about common privet. As a minimum, use privet to mulch privet. Consider making a fermented plant juice with the leaves and analyze it for its element content. This may give more insight as to uses.

    • @nigelpalmer3439
      @nigelpalmer3439  3 роки тому

      A comprehensive soil test will give insights as to mineral deficiencies and excesses. Be sure all 14 - 16 minerals are evaluated. Noting the weeds that grow will also give insight as to soil mineral content as weeds grow in unbalanced soils and will change as the mineral content changes.
