I bought some pens off you and when I ran them, it went to the metal under the coating. What settings are you using on the fiber to get the white engraving? Thanks
I worked at Bay Shipbuilding in Sturgeon Bay Wisconsin. If your laser is the equivalent to a welding arc You'd better keep those glasses on. You do not have to stare directly at your laser. It is the peripheral vision that is being damaged. It will burn your retina and you will loose your sight It will not happen overnight But it will happen. If you can see that arc out of the corner of your eye ware the proper eye protection. I'd hate to see a good fellow like you loose his sight.
I just realized after watching a number of your videos that your jig on your fiber laser only engraves pens for left handed people. Am I correct? Also do you get additional money for engraving a second line on the other side of the pens?
Just rotate the pen and you can engrave the second side. We charge extra to engrave the second side and default the engraving for right handed holding.
Question - you can put that same pen in the c02 laser in a flat pen jig can’t you ? I’ve used a small 10 watt to engrave those pens and it’s worked- it takes like 2 passes but still works. You could set up a jig with 50-100 pens and engrave c02 right ? Maybe single pass would work? I ask cause I wanna buy a cO2 laser (xtool p2)
If you want to engrave pens with different names/text, do you still use the rotary? Edited. Already found your video for the variable data.. Just found your video because I'm searching for fiber laser that do pen engraving. I have CO2 laser machine and mostly do bamboo pen engraving. I'm planning to buy Fiber Laser for faster engraving but will it work on bamboo/ wooden pen or any wooden object? Because I mostly do wooden products. My problem is that the fiber machine engraving area is not that big but then I saw that you have rotary for pens. I have orders that have different names and different font styles. For example, 24 pens with 24 different names and font styles, is there a setting on the software that you can change the font style for every names you put on the excel file?? Because on Co2 software, I can upload a file for it to engrave with different names and font style on it.
I use the rotary, but I don't change the font for each one. I don't know if that's possible or not. I'm not sure fiber can do bamboo, might need to look at a galvo co2.
I've got it dialed in so they all run the same. Originally I had an issue with dark red needing one more pass, but I slightly adjusted the focus and I can run them all with two pass now.
I think the pens could be a great thing for your company. They get you in the door so you can sell everything else to them. That is going to be great for your business
I wanna know more about that chuck/jig you have for the fiber. That’s awesome did you make it?

I should probably build a box with the appropriate material to keep the whole area safe.
Cool vid - was looking for an example of bulk engraving options... There's no link to vendor list on your web site - did I miss something? 🤔

thanks for the quick. With trial and error I was able to figure it out in LB, mirroring it and then flipping it on the horizontal.

My 50watt fiber doesn't even mark bamboo. Nothing...
How does your fiber laser handle the different colors? I am having issues with colors like red and blue not being as crisp as other colors
