Surfacing a Shapeoko waste board with carbide create

  • Trying to help by using carbide create to surface my waste board. I don't normally use Carbide Create but thought might be all new owners start with and might help. Trying to navigate through new recording ideas.

    Thank you for the video - I was wondering why it was saying that my 1" surfacing bit was going to take 4 hours to surface 31 inches... Very informative.

    why does z- axis keep going beyond .75 mdf i set up...it cuts deep into the wasteboard

    I didn't see you put the clip on the bit when you probed for Z. Is there another way? I also did not see you probe for x & y.

      With my spindle being grounded through my vfd I don't need to use the grounding clip. For x&y I had already set the center of my piece as x&y 0.

    Um surfacing bit should never plung directly into material. The bottom has no cutting blades so it doesn't plung all the way. You want to enter from the side

    my tool library is empty how do I add all my new tools, have a brand new shapeoko 3 , I have motion v5 and the upgraded carbide create , I can't folow you as it is different
