Very nice. It this the van with the Ice on the side is the highlight for me. Very cool indeed. 1995 was when I was first stationed in Europe. A great introduction to European railways.
As you could probably tell, I liked that wagon myself. A croc on one side and an ICE on the other. I also liked this E44... which is the only one not running of the 26 locos I have received. I tinkered with it, and got a light to power up and potentially even lurch a mm, but then I blew the motor... smoke of departing soul included. Now I have to find a new motor, and maybe more.
@@ModelTrainOutsider 26 locos already! That's good going. I was wondering if that was a crocodile on the other side but was not uncertain. The E44 is neat. I am sure you will get it going again given time.
Hello Anthony, another very interesting video, the Maggi wagon caught my eye. The Maggi company was founded way back 1884 in Switzerland, the parent company is now Nestle. They produce seasonings, bouillon mixes, instant soup, noodles which are widely used within the catering industry and the domestic market. Great video Anthony and again thanks to Herb for his fascinating collection of passenger and freight wagons showing the relation between the railways and the history of how passengers and products and how they were moved around :) :) :)
Hello, Colin and thanks for all the great information. As I admitted on another comment, all my trips to Germany and I do not recall every seeing any Maggi products. I guess we just were not very observant. lol
I am loving the gondolas and rolling road flats. There are enough beer wagons to run 6 very full beer trains for an Octoberfest, which Joyce has suggested become an annual event.
Hello, M'lord! I am loving the various locos and the sculpted beer wagons (with the beer barrels and kegs). Those will make a cool beer train! I am overwhelmed by how much I have and how much is to come yet.
Many of these locos are DC and can not run on my main layout, but may appear on the lower DC layout. Sadly, the thumbnailed E44 is the one loco not able to run. Smoke in the motor.
Hi Anthony and Joyce. Brilliant rolling stock there, heavy on the beer. The E44 was great. You certainly got your work cut out with figuring out what to do with it all. Thanks Anthony. Thumbs up thumped 👍 .... Pete....
Hi, Peter. Definitely a lot of beer wagons, and some real beauties too. More yet to come. I am still waiting on 2 boxes. One comes today, so I might be able to check it out before Joyce and I fly to the UK tomorrow afternoon. One big one is lost somewhere between California and here. Don't think I will see it before we leave. Ah well. A surprise for when we get home.
Lot of cool stuff, Anthony, really like the beer wagons! Also, those flat cars are often referred to stateside as "piggyback" or "TOFC" (trailer on flat car) cars.
Hello Randall, and thanks for the information. I guess those wagons in Germany are called "Rolling Roads (rollende Strasse)" and now I know what they are in English, too. Cool. The beer wagons are amazing... variety and detail. I love the beer keg and barrel ones.
More ICEs to come, too. If all comes in, I should have an ICE-Experimental, 2 ICE1s, 2 ICE2s, 3 ICE3s (4 if I count the Amtrak ICE3), 2 ICE4s and an ICE2 Amtrak. It will be wild.
Hi there, Tim! Thanks for watching. Sadly, the E44 is the one loco that will not be running. It was not working when I got it, so I messed around with it. I got a light to turn on, and then I touched something and... zzzzt... smoke from the motor. :(
Hi Anthony, box 5 seemed to be bottomless, the superb Beer wagons were never ending. A wonderfull selection of rolling stock and Locos. I have the Fleischmann Anna you will be surprised how many wagons they can pull for such a small Loco. Cheers, Paul.👍👍🙏
Box 5 had a lot of nice bits to it, as does box 6. Sadly, that E44 unit was DOA. I managed to find a little life in it, but then blew the motor with the smoke of defeat. I am hoping to find a replacement motor and try to take this DC-analog loco and make it AC digital. Since I have to replace the motor anyhow, I might as well go full conversion attempt. I am determined that this beast run again. I just have to find the right motor.
Hiya, Ray! I thought it should be part of the OE as well, but usually the OE is CIWL cars and this is the ISG... but maybe ISG also worked on the OE. The beer wagons are astounding. We're going to run a BUNCH of beer trains soon... 6 on the layout at once.
LoL! I loved the various beer cars with kegs and barrels on them. I think I am more surprised at how positively I reacted to some of the older locos. I am not into the trains from the 50-s=80s, but bam- I have a bunch and really like them.
Hello Anthony! I hope you and Joyce are well. Another box of goodies. You will have amazing beer trains to run my friend. Really like the E44 shame its not 3 rail but looks so nicely detailed.
The E44 is the only loco that is dead. :( I really like it and hope I might be able to do an overhaul and make it 3Rail and working again with a modern decoder.
@@hovermotion Oh, I was servicing it. It was not working at all when it arrived. I cleaned and fixed a wire issue I found. So, then I put it on the track. It made a humming sound a lurched forward ever so slightly. When I turned up the power, some kind of resistor or compressor on a circuit board glowed for a micro second (see my post on it). I worked on it some more, and got the lights to work. However, I touched that compressor thing, and it went ZZZTTTT and smoke started coming from the motor.
Maggi make soup. concentrates. The jouef blue diningcar is from CIWL, so the Matt Clark train of European travel. And we are waiting with excitement on the next box. ❤❤❤
The 5th box has some big surprises, although, maybe not as much of a surprise with the short I put up. lol Still waiting on 2 boxes to come. One is scheduled to finally arrive today. The other is lost somewhere on the road.
Another great unboxing!! Very cool to have all those beer cars!! One of my German friends collects H0 beer cars, no other model trains, but beer cars and has now over 300 different ones of them. Maybe I can visit him one day in Germany and make a video of his collection... if it keeps going like it has you may be rivalling his collection...excited for the next video!!

Hi Raymond. I am impressed with what I have seen. One excitement for me is to now have so many different brands. I had some Limas for the Flying Scotsman, but now I have stock from ACME, Rivarossi, Jouef, Pocher, Baur, and others I had not had before. It's kind of cool to suddenly have so many different bits from so many companies, as silly as that may sound.
Hallo, Ian! Groeten!
