  • Finnish M05 woodland (summer) camouflage is quite effective. I made a short video about the summer camo and how it works in finnish May. Shooting distanse is short - 10 metres at the beginning, tripod heigth is 150 cm.
There is going to be a lot more camo tests on this M05. I'll do two sets for every season: spring, summer, fall and winter. Sets will include short distanse (about 10 metres) and long distanse (about 30 to 50) metres.

That's some impressive camo blending right there.

I made the short distance video first to make that point. Longer distanse video will come later.

I'm definitely gonna pick up a set of this camo, pretty sure it will be just as effective here in Norway as in Finland. Great vid mate, keep it up

I saw some HMAK Danish camo that was very similar but more flecktarnish but had brown like this Finnish stuff instead of all the black on the usual Danish flecktarn. It along with this Finnish M05 is the best camo for Canadian shield that I have ever seen.
Maybe German forests are different but although German flecktarn is good it seems dark and the red seems like it's be good for trench mud warfare and also WW2 with all the red brick rubble in Europe. All depends where your at

There is also M05 winter version. Works even better than summer version!
Also should mention M04 desert camo. But that is used only by finnish soldiers stationed outside of finland, Afganistan etc.

Nice blending, until movement or if you look away, works very well in That terrain.

Thanks for posting...thinking about getting some fabric and making my own gear...I think it would work great here in western Montana...where my great grandfather homesteaded after he left Finland, just ahead of the czar's conscription gangs in 1906...

It looks very close to canadian Cadpat. I might have to purchase as it would suit my area well

Next week there will be a very similar video with the M05 winter (frost) camo jacket on. It makes some difference at places.

Nice! seems good camouflage. The only thing is that in the first 2 positions the jacket was glossy because of it being wet. That made it easier to spot because it was shiny a bit, and that is unnatural. Still, good camo!

It's not really wet, maybe a bit damp but not wet-wet. The thing is that this uniform has seen quite little use and camo is still fresh because I've probably washed it only twice. When these get worn out, the camo lightens up a little bit. It kinda makes the camo work better in some cases.

I'll join the FDF in approximately around 2021 after I graduate from Oulu vocational college. M05 will be replaced with the "Nordic battle uniform" which is in development. The new cut with M05 camo could be perfect.

If we are talking in the context "what should the every-day-normal-man" buy if they want m05 camo, I would say that go with the Varusteleka clothing system. I have the full set (excluding the under wear) and I have to say that the cut is perfect. They are not that expensive but very comfortable and very functional.

@@KMHiker Yup, I wonder if the L4 jacket and the other pieces can be worn in refreshment courses? Like Varusteleka M05 RES can be used.
