- This week at Ashville we can see the light at the end of the tunnel on both Castle Charalambous and the Basement Salvage project, I take my Rolls Royce Wraith for a Drag Race at Santa Pod with @yiannimize and @nickzammeti, meet with Mayor of London candidate Shaun Bailey and an environmental issue has been raised to our attention. While it is a serious issue, the aggressive, immature and disruptive way it was communicated to us has not been appreciated. Protestors blocking the road and sitting on lorries achieved nothing.

"Stop the patriarchy". Said by a man, who's clearly in charge of the demonstration. Nice one.
Yeah, it was cute when he noticed his own casual sexism and had to backtrack about exactly why he made the assumption that only men could run a real business. He's also a microcosm of why large parts of the Left (some of which I am rather sympathetic to) are failing: because they cannot focus on just one issue at a time. "Stop fucking bulldozing the countryside" and "don't spend 100 billion quid on things we don't need" are actually fairly popular opinions that a lot of people could get on board with, build a coalition around, etc. But they HAVE to conflate it with a bunch of other stuff that is more marginal - not just in a way that says that those things also need addressing, but in a way that says they are *one and the same thing*.
"...and I'm assuming it's a man, because it's the kind of country that's built on a patriarchal system, and always has been, and the destruction of nature is just another iteration of that!" is not much of a rallying cry for anyone but themselves.

They should read what peaceful protest means! Trying to trespass by climbing fences, trying to deface/damage the property that wasn't theirs, trying to force their way into the yard (pushing the fence), fabricating/manipulating a situation to arrest a company employee, spreading lies about the truck registrations. Those weren't protesters, they were all just a bunch of a-holes, You and your team handled it very well. I hope things turned out well for you.

Hey Daniel I am a bricklayer working for hs2 watched this channel every week, I also follow the the hs2 protesters they have cost me alot of days work with there protests. I follow a few of there groups and watched this on a live stream. The young lad with the black hair gray hat and black ashville top need some serious respect he defended you to the hilt.

@@asylumgamingcartel6137 to add to that this group of stop hs2 protesters have a whole Facebook page with details of all hs2 hauliers and plant supply chain info they then target these companies by constantly phoning/ emailing in complaints and sometimes direct action were they go to the companys yards and start protesting blocking the trucks etc
They went to all sites not just ASHVILLE, about saddest thing, it’s got nothing to do with the ASHVILLE weekly, the lorries are always out and about

Install some very heavy duty sprinklers near the gate “for the dust”, and wash the lorries with some nice cold high pressure water if they’re stuck by the gate with nothing else to do
Thanks for all your videos as just started watching. I am a mechanical Cad design engineer so enjoy the appreciation of the different trades craftsmanship. Plus have learnt quite a bit, so win win.
Sad about the protesters as the behaviour was really bad and would rather the police be keeping us safe on our streets. There must be a more realistic way to safely protest as even tho what they are protesting maybe right or wrong, but the way they went about it just made them look ridiculous and know one is going to take them seriously. If you have a video on building the rail yard I would find that really interesting and the process you had to go thru as I am sure other companies would find that helpful. On the protest side, what your doing using trains to shift your material must be more environmentally better so I think that was a great move. You did the wright thing by not going out because they just wanted to wind people up rather than supporting you creating jobs and giving advise and support in being more environmentally friendly. Isn't building more electric railways and building less roads for petrol and diesel vehicles better? Be interested in your thoughts on hydrogen vehicles. Could you build an acoustic barrier around your yard.

I would say if the protesters come back, film them for your own safety but do not show this on Ashville weekly as it only gives them more publicity.

Daniel in relation to the noise of the stones/rocks what about adding some rubber floor to your trucks and rail carrages.maybe add some rubbers to parts of your buckets to try lower the noise.what are the noise measurement readings are they that bad.you are doing your best to acommodate your neighbourhood. It's not about the noise or the neighbours would have moaned about the noise when complaining about the dust. The noise hasn't changed. These people are HS2 weirdos probably leaflet dropping in the neighbourhood giving residents the name of their councillors in order to complain. Have you looked on Google maps as to where the locals live? At the end of the driveway into the yard, there appears to be a caravan or chalet park near a lake. On one side of the yard is a golf course with the rail line coming in between that and Link Park where Daniels yard is. There's a large thicket of trees separating Link Park from housing on the other side and I can only assume the local complaints come from there.
Daniel has bent over backwards to please the neighbours. He installed a wheel wash for all of the trucks to use before leaving the site, he stopped the night trains, he started spraying all of the aggregate with water so as to keep dust levels right down, he bought a road sweeper which he told the council he would use in the village as well as his yard, so as to offer an olive branch to his neighbours but now they have complained about THE most ridiculous thing that is absolutely laughable. How on earth can a crane with a metal bucket unload a metal train carriage in silence?
I'm sorry but laughing is all you can do and to ask if the councillors are against HS2.
I believe the council are trying their damndest to get Daniel off that site but if you look at Google maps at the satellite pic, you'll see there's another rail line runs across which also has what looks like a similar type of yard. If so, perhaps the noise and dust is from there? Who knows? The council need to look into it and Daniel needs to see if there are any other yards where he can move Ashville to. At least everything is temporary like containers and scaffold.

Just an idea for the noise regarding the carriages, possibly try lining the bucket and carriages with a reinforced type of rubber, that may reduce the clanging of metal on metal and rubble loading.
