As a London-based Leeds fan I used to watch Brian Moore every Sunday on The Big Match back in the 70s. He was nice enough to come along to my primary school one time to present football trophies and then impressed everyone by taking a lot of time to chat with the kids and parents after the event. I knew about his links to Gillingham but we used to think he was a West Ham fan!
I Have an awful lot of clips from that era and more than a fair share from ITV. While I am a die-hard Leeds fan I have to slightly disagree about Moore. I heard plenty of games where he anything but liked Leeds, and at times was unashamedly biased towards the southern clubs. Commentators are meant to be impartial.
Yeah he was always southern club biased, but then again he was a lifelong Gillingham fan. Was a Director for years and I think they named a stand after him.
The greatest side that ever played. Come on Leeds
loved Brian Moore back then love him more still now LUFC forever

The Best team-Ever!
The BIg Match Sunday afternoon remember it well nearly every game featured was Chelsea home game at the bridge
Interesting video.
Brian Moore was not a Leeds fan. He was a Gillingham fan and was also a director at Gillingham.
The greatest side never to win The European Cup........& of course they were "robbed" of that!
Trev Palmer . You nailed it, couldn't agree more. We were robbed in 75.
Michael Flaherty would have won it if you never got rid of Brian Clough
I would say Barry Davies was a leeds fan too..
I honestly don't think Brian Moore was a Leeds fan..Great Man though! MOT
