R.I.P. Peter . When football was football
RIP , was a fantastic player , scored some fantastic goals for a great Leeds team, respect from Sunderland fan.
Peter my boyhood hero..
RIP
I remember Peter Lorimer playing. He was a true legend. From a Man City fan.
Great Player with a rock hard shot. And I support WBA. RIP Peter respect from West Brom. X
Leeds were called dirty leeds in the hay day no one liked them but as soon as a player dieds there called a great team with great players. Strange that.
From birmingham fan saw peter many times wonderful player rip peter..
One of my boyhood heroes. Forever marching on together. RIP Peter.
Leeds United.... What a side 1970 to 75...all internationals even the reserves..
Magical player - part of that legendary 70's side which I for one, will never forget.
R.I.P Peter - from a Chelsea fan.
A great player from a great team. Youv'e left us wonderful memories. RIP Peter Lorimer.
God bless you Peter lorimer thank you for all you have done for Leeds United. Rest in piece. (90 miles an hour) marching on together forever wherever. Lowfields old boy 👍👍👍
Hot shot Lorimer.......90 miles an hour !!! One of the greatest EVER. R.I.P.
A really under-rated player. Always remember what a powerful shot he had on him but had forgotten the variety of goals he could score. Brilliant memories.
Growing up in Glasgow in the late 60', early 70's supporting Rangers, but loved watching Leeds on TV, could name the team off by heart, sadly so many off them have passed away the past few years. RIP Peter 🏴🇬🇧
Yet another one of the greats from my childhood now gone. Such a wonderful player. RIP
RIP 7
🙏
RIP you gave me so much Happiness as a Kid.
Same here.
I'm Liverpool FC though and through, but Peter remains a player revered and respected by all genuine football addicts, me included. A key member of the great 1960s/70s Leeds Utd team, Peter was central to Leeds success. They played 4-2-4. Great entertainers, great professionals who outperformed most of their contemporaries. Peter will be sadly missed. Rest in peace.
Well said i love THE REDS.YOUR RIGHT
Respect to you fella, always great mutual respect between Leeds and Liverpool, the Liverpool fans alway recognised the quality of that Leeds team, that’s because they are true football people and were quality themselves, never here a Liverpool fan calling dirty Leeds like the southern soft twats.
R.I.P. Peter Lorimer. A legend.
Truly exciting player. Whenever he got the ball within scoring range the commentator would go " IT'S LORIMAR ! ". My true boyhood hero. Great bloke off the pitch too from all accounts.
RIP MASTER. Another great legend are gone. MARCHING ON TOGETHER 💙💛
From a Liverpool fan, Rest in peace. Fantastic player.
Always remember all the Liverpool V Leeds clashes in the 70's.
We had some great games with that wonderful Liverpool team of yours. Sadly, a lot of those players are no longer with us, but weren't we privileged to have experienced those times?
Between 64-74 that was the match of the season. I used to work with Phil Ferns of Liverpool and he always said Leeds were the going to be the team of the decade . He was right , both Liverpool and Leeds were the best of that era.
Bill Shankly and Don Revie were great friends. They used to phone each other after every game on Saturday nights and discuss their respective games. I doubt whether there's 2 managers in the game nowadays that have same respect for each other.
@@philipcohen3942 Yes.
Two great teams and two sets of fantastic fans. Isn't it sad when you see the heroes of your past passing away?
What a fabulous player peter was. R I P 🙏🙏
God bless "lash". A superb player with a thunderbolt of a shot and so much more, quality footballer.
A really great player and a joy to watch. RIP
That famous Leeds side left many of us with countless great memories.
Thank you !!!
A natural footballer ... a utility player just like Paul Madeley. Could play anywhere on that pitch ! You gave us so much entertainment. Thank you . RIP .
Thank you for posting this great tribute to a wonderful player. I don't think we fully appreciated the great skill Peter possessed. Of course, he had a very hard shot, but he was quick, could beat a man with his dribble, a decent header of the ball and judging by one of the clips, could even play in goal! (can't remember when that happened!) Rest in peace.
Lash went in goal against Chelsea in 1972 after David Harvey went of injured.. only one sub in them days..
Thanks for that. I've just read a report of the game at Chelsea. Harvey was concussed as a result of a collision with Roy Ellam and was taken to hospital. Yorath was sub and because Jones also got injured, Yorath came on, Lorimer went in goal. No surprise then that they lost 4--0!
The true hot shot of football, fantastic player so lucky to have seen him play. RIP MOT
RIP Peter had the pleasure of being part of the Revie era and training and playing with legends !
Super player in a super team providing great entertainment. May his soul RIP.
True Leeds and Scotland legend..
RIP Peter, one of the greatest Leeds players. First Norman, then Big Jack and now Peter. RIP
I know, I was just thinking what a terrible time it's been for Leeds fans of a certain vintage. Wouldn't it be great to have a team like that again? They were so close under Revie, they were like a family.
Very underrated player .had the privilege of watching him in the seventies many times
Great goals great memories!
Saw him in The Fort bar in Dundee a couple of years ago and plucked up the courage to ask to shake his hand. So glad I did. He was one of the greats and a gentleman.
RIP the Lash! Great player and nice guy.
One of the greatest, but will never be forgotten.
Skill and pure power ….,
RIP Peter Lorimer
Im a West Ham supporter but I remember Peter Lorimer well and have the utmost respect for the player and the man what a striker of a ball Leeds have lost a lot of stars recently and this one shone the brightest
Another one of my hero's gone a sad day but I have great memories of sitting around the radio with my Dad listening to Leeds playing in Europe R. I. P. Peter Lorimer
Happy days! I still remember listening to those1970 clashes with Celtic on the radio. That Leeds team provided millions with many great memories.
Thank you so much S&S. Put together so well. RIP Peter. A total legend. ❤❤❤❤
Nice touch this. Superb Player.
Great player for Leeds and Scotland. RIP Peter Lorimer.
RIP, a true and great great legend. Leeds should erect a statue for him outside Elland Road to commemorate his huge contribution and loyalty to Leeds. Will miss him forever
Peter Lorimer, a wonderful player in a wonderful team.
Super super player. MOT. I was lucky enough to see him score a cracker in 1972 against Arsenal which was in this tribute. Another great gone but so many memories of that brilliant team. RIP Hot Shot.
R.I.P to the legend sadly missed Peter Lorimer...
If only sky or bt was around then, i shudder to think how many times they would show be showing the mighty Leeds I used to love watching Leeds when they were featured on match of the day or the big match, a fantastic player for club and country, a true icon in football
Brilliant footballer....happy days,,,,,R.I.P.
I remember Peter Lorimer when he played for the Vancouver Whitecaps. He was my favourite player. RIP sir.
GREAT PLAYER,FROM GREAT FOOTBALL DAYS,R I P,
Great aunt Frances was secretary of the supporters club backin the 60s. Don Revie had the young players living in lodgings with local families. Peter Lorimer, Eddie Gray, Terry Lumsden, Jimmy Greenoff and Gary Yorath all lived with the family in Middleton Road, Morley. They would catch the bus to Elland Road. Can you imagine that happening today. Another legend leaves us, RIP Peter "Hotshot" Lorimer.
Rest in peace legend
R.I.P Peter Lorimer record goal scorer for the mighty whites.
Fantastic striker for the 1970s magnificent Leeds United
Brilliantly put together pal. R.I.P Lash
My favorite football player... I'm very sad(from Hungary)
Peter Lorimer was a top class footballer and a legend in a Leeds side that had many good footballers and produced some of the best football ever seen in Britain and Europe.
R I P Peter... Top Fella Class Player , Great Tribute .
Leeds just beat my team Fulham, Leeds being my second fave team, what a loss to Scottish football and the world, RIP THE HAMMER.
In my schooldays every boy wanted to be George Best, I wanted to be Peter Lorimer. Fantastic player with incredible shot and skill...RIP Peter...⚽⚽🍷🍺
Yep. We all tried to whack the ball as hard as possible, and then shout Lorimer as the ball flew into the top corner.
What a player! What a side! RIP
Great player in a fantastic side RIP
I am a 65 year old Arsenal season ticket holder and it is so sad to recently see the death of many of their great 60s and 70s players. Like every one at that time ( bar leeds fans) I hated them I went to the League cup final of 1968 and the Fa cup final of 1972, you won them both 1 0. Always looked forward to Leeds coming to Highbury in the 1960s and 1970s, they had a massive away following and there was always a great atmosphere. R I P Peter and thanks for the memories
Great player from Dundee, Scotland
He always loved the city and would get home as often as possible. Braw.
Although I am a Man Utd, fan, I am deeply saddened about the passing of PL; especially coming so soon after the passing of Jack Charlton & Norman Hunter and the awful news regarding Gordon McQueen. PL, was acknowledged as one of the hardest hitter of the ball of his day. And you didn't want to be in the way when he caught it sweetly because you and the ball would end up in the back of the net. RIP to another football legend from my childhood
I remember when Leeds got a free kick outside the box, you could see the other team arguing who was gonna stand in the wall cos they were shutting themselves if Lorimer was taking the kick
I knew he was good................... I'd just forgotten how good. I fell in love with this team in the late 60's early 70's - Authentic football legends!... MOT
Had the honor off meeting him in Toronto after a match . Myself and some team mates one of them being Tommy Henderson , former Leeds team mate of his ...
Hot shot lorimer 🌟
Great player r.i.p peter Liverpool fan 👍
A great player with super shot at goals.i remember his goal against bayern Munich in european Cup final. Unfortunately stolen n disallowed by an unjust referee. But for the world football, its leeds United were the champion of Europe in 1975.!
👍🏻Spot on
Absolutely! Leeds United were robbed, as they were in the Cup Winners Cup final against A.C. Milan in 1973.
What a guy ,you worried when he got the ball .RIP Peter you were special ⚽️
lasher lorimer what a shot A true legend 😢
He bled white r.i.p. Peter
Peter Lorimer was probably one of the three Leeds players under Don Revie played for them in the 80s Second Division. The other two were Eddie Gray and Trevor Cherry.
Leeds.
Tremendous shot on him may his soul rest in peace
RiP hotshot
SOME OF THOSE GAMES, WERE BEFORE SOUND. GREAT PLAYER THOUGH, SHAME HE COULDN'T PLAY FOR ENGLAND. IT'S WORRYING WHEN FAMOUS PEOPLE DIE, AND YOU REMEMBER THEMAS YOUNG, WHEN YOU WERE.
Love you lorimer love you Leeds MOT R I P lad
Peter when you strike that ball through the stratosphere it will crash right through the heavenly realm and disturb the peaceful nature of the angels. 🙌 🤍
Rip Peter fellow Dundonian
The amount of amazing goals that they caught on film, at a time when only a few games were filmed is just extraordinary. Makes you wonder how many he scored that weren’t filmed.
Good point..
RIP hotshot
Scottish legend rip
Has anyone got video where he broke the cross bar with a shot.
Pick the bones out of that one!! Which one?
Whose the Harris that passes to Lorimer at 6:25 ?
Where’s the Clough speech from?
That was Carl Harris who played for Leeds
@@barrykemp505 I thought 1973 was too early for him, but you're right mate...
Lash won a Yorkshire Television sports personality award around 1972 and Clough presented it..passed.. he ripped lash to pieces and got booed off
what would he be worth in today's transfer market.
Piledriver
Leeds playing in red' that's not right never
No OFFENCE BUT IF HE HAD BEEN ENGLISH HE WOULDNT HAVE BEEN UNDERRATED
