Happy New Year Max and Bernie! I'm so happy to always see you and Max.❤ He is so beautiful and precious. ❤ He loves the box is so cute. Max you are my favorite video! I Love you with all my heart❤ ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hello!! Precious Max & Bernie!! He is just way too cute!! Such a beautiful baby boy!! Sending ya’ll hugs & much love!! Happy New Year!! Stay Safe!! 🙏❤️🤗❤️❤️❤️👍
Thank you for sharing Max with us. He is absolutely beautiful, even with the extra 10 pounds. Congratulations on your loss of 50 pounds, that is not easy to do, and you look great. Did you ever think about hanging one of Max's toys using a thick cord or cable, that way it would be dangling and he might be amused at batting it and watching it swing when he taps it.
I love Max as a little fatty. He is so darn cute. I guess I shouldn't say little since he is 51 pounds. I hope he isn't too difficult with the reduced meals. Thank you for sharing this New Year's message with us. I wish I could have a Canadian Lynx and help out an animal like him. I think it is very special work you do. May you and Max have a fabulous New Year.
Happy New Year Bernie and Max &co.,🎉 sorry this is coming late 😬. I love the way Max listens to you and seems to be pretty obedient.❤️💪🏻 Wishing you and all the furry, feathered a good year. All the best for your diet together with Max. Love getting news from you 🥰
Good evening Bernie and Max, We're ready to jump into another year can you believe it. I'm willing to go on the diet and lose 10 lbs just like you and Max. May you and yours have a wonderful blessed happy New Year. Much love, Rennie
Oh you two together are so wonderful. Bernie do what you can to keep your joints healthy. Today I'm at week four of recovery from my 2nd total knee replacement. I had the right knee done in April 2023. My right knee was a real mess before surgery. It was a difficult first few months. Well, I mistakenly assumed the left knee would be easier because it wasn't as damaged. WRONG. No sad details here. I'm getting better each day but this whole process of two surgeries in one year has been miserable. But, I'm 73 and needed to get this overwith while I still had upper body strength. So, take care of yourself and keeping the weight down is very important. I have a problem with that too, but soon I'll be more active and that will help. We all need to stay healthy to take care of our critters. Happy New Year to all. Lynda in California ❤
@lyndakelly7224 - Oh Lynda! Ouch! Well, you seem very positive but I'll send more positivity your way. One can never have too much juju. And you are right... our critters need us! Much love to you and yours. Max sends his purrs.
Like you said Bernie when they get lazy and don't play like they used to IT IS DIET time. When I cut down my Mookie's amounts she doesn't seem to be upset. I supplement less solid food with a couple servings of broth. She seems content. So happy you both are doing well. Joy & peace to you in 2024❤
@joannaedwards6325 - Max has lost a pound. Sometimes he seems hungry and other times I have to beg him to come in for his meal. I thought the bitter cold would be hard on him, so I gave him a half pound extra. The next day, he left some of his meat. Evidently, a pound a day is okay as he has plenty of reserves on his butt! LOL
@@wildlifebernie I really adore watching Max. So glad my Mookie came to me out of the bushes. She took the place as a companion when my Jeff left the Earth. I believe the Universe sent me my Spooky Mookie as a companion to help ease my loss of my Jeff.
@wildlynx1111 - Lynx are solitary felines unless raised with another in captivity. One lynx is expensive enough, I couldn't have afforded two. Now 12, almost 13, he would never accept a friend.
@@wildlifebernie Yes, I just remembered that the felidae family in general is solitary creatures, lynx is so gorgeous creature and deserves to be expensive 🥰 thank you for answering my question.
At 51 pounds 'yikes- he's heavy!' - thinks Bernie. Still Max has physical prowess like former tennis star Tsonga or boxer Muhammad Ali. Even now at this weight Max can still 'float like a butterfly' or buzz around like a bee. Yet sometimes now Max decides just 'chilling' near Bernie makes him very very happy! Blessings , Linda

@RottenAnimal - I take Osteo Bi-flex triple strength and Turmeric Curcumin. I did the 2tabs/day on the Osteo for the first 40 days per directions but have reduced it down to once a day. I've been taking the Turmeric for years. I really didn't think it mattered until I got lazy about taking my supplements and my knees started hurting. I also try not to sit for too long because they will get stiff. The Osteo was recommended by a friend. My Dr's are no help. Hope it helps for you. Be well, Happy New Year!
I hope you had a great New Year’s Eve! Mine was quiet with my sister, husband and Father-In-Law! We did manage to stay up until midnight tho! Have a great 2024 Max and Bernie! ❤
May I respectfully ask you why this beautiful animal is not living it's best life in the wild? Was it injured and you could not return it to the wild? Please could you explain why a beautiful wild animal is in captivity?? No offence intended, I understand that there can be a back story to this...
Did you hear the story about Rufus, the most likely fattest (Eurasian) lynx on Earth? He was on display in an animal park at Schweinfurt, Germany, and after being neutered and having paw surgery and thus being not able to work out much, he expanded to a whopping 50 kgs (110 lbs), becoming even a mascot for some US fast food chain (yuck!)... later, his human caretakers brought him down to about 35 kgs (77 lbs) which is still enormous for a Eurasian, not to mention a Canadian lynx! Unfortunately, he passed away soon after this... Here is a video link: ua-cam.com/video/xonFnWLPXy0/v-deo.html
@yadgar1969 - Oh wow! No, never heard of him. Poor baby! You can tell he has a hard time walking. I don't want that for Max. He'll be fine if I can engage him in some walking. Fingers crossed. Thanks for sharing!
@yadgar1969 - Good to hear from you friend. I hope to play with him more. I have to be careful in the cold because my fingers freeze within 30 minutes no matter the glove. I'm going to try the lazer to see if that will get him off his floof. Lol. Happy New Year!
@@yadgar1969 - It is a struggle. I did and only lost because of grief and having a household of animals and chores. Now, I struggle to keep it off. It's a vicious cycle. Only those with perfect genes don't have to worry one way or the other. We still love you no matter. Max sends his purrs.
Reducing his caloric intake by one third is too drastic I would suggest only one quarter pound, if you really feel that he is over weight, which I don't. He is getting up in age, and some extra weight is normal for all of us, human or animal. Too much weight loss could cause him other health problems, such as lowered resistance to disease. Like others have said, a lot of his weight is fur.
@carolyearsley - Max used to lose his winter weight when he was 35 during the summer and 40 in winter but was 45 last summer. He was 47 in September and that's 4 pounds of weight gain in 3 months. It's not healthy to be overweight. Yes, it could be too much of a reduction in meat, but I'll assess as we move forward. If he gets grumpy, then I'll know to add a little more back into his diet. He's not around other animals, so I don't worry about diseases and he had a good health check last year. At most, he has 2 pounds of fur.
What a treat to see you and Max again! I wish 2024 to be good to you both 🥂🎆
