- One week ago today I broke my femur just below the hip socket, while hiking at Calico Basin. Had a rod and some screws surgically installed the next day at UMC. Great surgeon and trauma team! So, I started carefully walking without crutches 4 days later. I now have a plethora of hardware in the ankle, knee and hip, all on the right side. Does anyone out there know the meaning of that right side trifecta? Would love to know.... Thanks.
Glad you had a fast recovery. You're a real hip dude.
Lmao that would be a perfect get well soon card
Stay safe, Lynn!!
Love you Lynn ❤️. You're an amazing player of the trumpet. Always a fan brother.
GET WELL SOON LYNN!
Oh no!!! Please be careful out there!! Glad to see you are recovering so well, that is amazing! I wish you a fast recovery and many more years of hiking and playing music!
heal quickly Lynn
Careful bro! None of us are as young as we used to be. 😅
So thankful it wasn't worse. A bit of a close call there. Amazing surgery and testament to your health maintenance.
I sincerely hope that you are doing well!!!
I wish for you the best of speedy recoveries!

Hello Lynn sometimes sh… happens oh no… I wish you all the best and very very quick healing and hope you’re recovering well.. and go ahead to show the world what means to play the trumpet..🎺😊❤️😀
I wish you a speedy recovery, Lynn! Btw, Right side stands for the masculine, i'm sure you know that.. does that make sense?..
Greetings from Switzerland
Yes, I am researching that..... Hmmm.
Good to see you up and around! That's impressive for that quick after surgery.
Glad to see you fast recovered! Take care and a warm greeting from Italy!
❤🎺❤
To be clear, I still have 3-6 months to full recovery.... Long road ahead.

Lynn, I also had a broken femur in a car accident in 1973. But at that time the treatments were different and, after I too underwent surgery, I had to do 2 months of bed rest and 4 months of convalescence. So I'm happy to see you walking, even if it will still take some time to get back to full shape. I renew my best wishes to you and send you a big hug.
🎺❤🎺
Lynn, feel better. Glad you’re doing well. Obviously, you are Bionic! Now I know how you keep your chops up! 😊😊
Looking very fit and healthy Stay safe maestro 🎶🎺🎶
Hope the best for you
Maybe your right leg will always point North when you are out hiking. Thanks for all the trumpet tips.
Glad you're doing so well so soon! Now, go out to that same canyon and play a ballad to any blues you have.
That means that you slowly are becoming a Bionic Man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just kidding, hope you get well and no more "incidents" please!!!!!!
Wow...glad you are feeling better...that's crazy...be careful out there...how did you get out? Medivac? Did you walk out with a broken hip?
Omg sir!! Thank you for being good! But No, don’t do it so intense anymore! We need you alive, the legend of Maynard Ferguson band.
YEs be careful and stay away from metal detectors. ha.
All the hardware on your right side?
Sounds like you're doing... all right! 😉
It sounds like osteoporosis- affects men a lot less than women, but it does occur (I'm not a doctor, I just googled), especially at age 70+. Your doctor probably had you checked out for it already, but if not, you should look into it, and a.s.a.p. If you have it, drugs like Fosamax (and others) are the usual treatment and I've read that those are effective.
Trouble on the airports...
Eat plenty of spinach and eggs. Do not hike in dangerous areas. Stay safe.
Now then, now then, now then...how's about that then.
My problems are all Left side.
One leg longer than the other?
Right side only? Likely due to your fancy rear brake foot pedal maneuver you perfected on your dirt bike. :) Hope you're back to 100% throttle and zero spills soon!
You don't know you have a leg, until you injure it. Be sure and do therapy. It will keep you from developing restrictive scar tissue and maintain your range of motion. With all that metal in your body, you will get "special treatment" at airports... ha.
Hip? What is hip? Do you really know?
Keep healthy the years don't pass by supplement with vitamins collagen
Judging by your stride, it looks like you’re well on the way, again, to another in a growing list of great recoveries. As far as your question is concerned, I’ll take a stab at it. Most of the time when I got injured, whether that be an ankle, wrist, hip, etc., it also occurred on my right side. So my hypothesis is that these injuries typically occur when using our strong side, because that is the side we default to for initial power and action. But it’s not foolproof, hence the occasional spills. One might think these injuries would occur more often on our weak side, by my weak side isn’t the side I’m most confident in; therefore, I do not default to it. Would love to hear your explanation when you run across other possible answers. Be well, brother!
Sounds right, at least a contributing factor....
O wow
By the way, how is your calcium?
Good, but maybe not good enough. Have added K2 so that D3 goes to the bones. We'll know on the next DEXA scan....
@@lynn95441 : Funny, I am taking K1 to stop bleeding so much. also take D3 5000 units.
Well buddy your chops are bionic and now half of you is also. You got this but watch the X-ray at airports 🎺
What in `the F are you ?
