I saw Maynard F in 1973 or ‘74. I was 9 years old. I got an autograph from the trumpet player I couldn’t stop watching, I never forgot his name, ever. Looked it up today. Wow, so awesome! I guess it wasn’t a dream. (it was you)!

Chromatic arpeggios... See a lot of trumpet players doing lip flapping vibrations between passages especially DCI to relax the chops. Guess this is not too eye appealing at indoor venue, especially if you're the solo guy.

Dear Lynn, I don’t know if I have the right to ask you this, but I damn sure want to hear pagliacci performed by you... I adore this piece more than all the others that exist... I, of course, try to play it myself, but even F third octave is difficult...
Every time I hear this melody, my heart skips a beat...

Lynn, your method may work for you, but at the end of the day, vitamins D & C aid in muscle repair the best with a meal, water and/or Gatorade. I’ve been using this method along with rest, since back in the 90’s when I was playing 5-7 days a week. I also incorporated light mouthpiece buzzing a few hours before gigs to diffuse the lactic acid that formed in my chops from the high note/energy demands the night before.

Buzzing might be great for you, but it was the one thing that ruined me as a trumpet player. So when I took up playing again after a break of 9 years, but not trumpet but rather trombone, I never buzzed a day. AirFlow exercises done mp to mf, only going as high or low as I could get a good sound. But no buzzing. Played professionally bass trombone for 30 years. Orchestral, brass ensembles, big band. Stopped playing publicly 2 years ago due to a sporadic old-age caused lip tremor. But since stopping playing publicly, spending time solidifying my paddle, double paddle and pedal ranges, I've never played better. And if I get that tremor, I ignore it and only do lyrical pieces I enjoy so as not to mentally screw myself up.

I’ll ask the obvious question… Does it apply if my range is say half of what yours is Lynn?
On a good day, I could hit a high F…. When I am beat up, a high C is pushing it.

Lower the range of the arpeggios, but use the same spacing in between as I do. Try to work your way up fairly fast.....

      For years I've been played on 1 1/2 c megatone, 3e, 1D, 10 1/2 c and 3e but always back to 1 5 c so im confused 😕

@@keithsimpson2446 inconsistency in rim size probably isn’t helping much. If you make a switch I would switch more than 1 rim size up or down at a time. 1, 1.5, 3, 5, 7, 10.5
Go get a lesson for the range stuff tho. Playing for someone who really knows what’s up always helps

@@theohornsby51 Yes, best to keep the same rim diameter and vary the depth for various situations.... Deeper is darker for that approach...

Hi Lynn! There is a reason why you put the tonghe in the mouthpiece's cup before to start playing a note? Are you making room or what? Thanks for asking

You are correct, rest is best. This is a quick fix, targeting those who can't take time off.... Even so, if done as described, this approach is quite easy, not hard at all.....
