I've had a total of 3 gauge clusters in my 1990 base model. The first one (came when bought) wasn't working at all.. The other 2 all the analog meters are working, but the digital part is scrambled.. it changes, but it's scrambled even when it changes.. For example... When you accelerate you can see it's changing but it's scrambled the entire time.. same for the fuel indicator, odometer, ect.. please tell me some words of wisdom..😩
Hi Mr. Thompson, my lcd screen is readable but a little dim. How do I know if I need either a new polarizing film, lcd screen or just a bulb replacement? I think I would try bulb replacement first, but would like your opinion on this matter. Thank you
Watch the LCD for the first two seconds after turning on the key. All bulbs run at full bright during this time. Is it dark, or is it bright orange and light grey / low contrast? If dark, it’s the bulbs. If bright, it’s the film. If it’s bright and contrast and gets dark, test in a bright location. If it’s still dark after 2secs, the photocell may be bad.
Amazing work and info!
Hey I have 92 corvette and I was wondering if it was just a bulb cause it won't show anything at all just completely dim
Does all the information like the mileage still stay in tack when it is unplugged
