Story explanation time! I make this based on both the MV and the lyric with some comments from Japanese fans so I can understand the symbolism better. However my Japanese isn’t that good, there might be a mistake but I hope this trigger more theory from us who love this music series. CHAPTER ONE: EMMA (PINK TITLE DROP) 0:11 Someone inside the mirror (herself) always ask her, “who are you?”. She can’t answer it and it’s devouring her everyday. She just knows there’s a “monster” and deep down she knows that “monster” is in herself. She have illusion in her mind filled with sweet things (what she want). In the real world, she likes to compare things that she can’t have like not having enough money and beauty, can’t get in the same circle as her colleagues, etc. She bit her lip to suppress her emotion. In the illusion world, she knows it’s useless to compare things. But it becoming unbearable. Her illusion starting to pull her more and more. A blue Gel Beavers getting ready to welcome her. She actually want those things she desire. And just like that, her illusion take her over. Now, leaving the real world (falling deep down to her illusion). She faced her other self, Tear, far more superior than her (in this world). Giving the comfort she needs by instructing Gel Beavers to pile up the sugar cube. CHAPTER TWO: BEAVER (BLUE TITLE DROP) 1:28 In the real world she face many things that make her cry. But it’s no big deal in this world. The Gel Beavers will give you as many comfort as you want. It went for some time until Emma feels uncomfortable about all this thing, something wrong. Tear just looking at her like saying, “what could possibly happen in this safe world?”. But the thing is, there’s something new in this world, something have emerge from within her and it’s the butterfly of Dream. Suddenly, she remembered her past full of abuse. At first she would cry. But she bit her lower lip, mimicking her only comfort, a stuffed beaver to suppressed the emotion. Inside, the emotion was overflowing. It created flood but Gel Beavers came to rescued her by using a sugar cube to float. In the real world, she can’t compete with the other. She can no longer contain her emotion and it’s leaking. If Tear completely take over she’ll become a “monster”. When they arguing. A Gel Beaver eats Dream and it become giant. Tear’s in shock because she never see something like this, it’s new to her. “Why Gel Beaver choose (eat) Dream than me (my need for comfort)?”. Just when Tear froze, Emma take her hand to save them both from the scene. This Gel Beaver making havoc in Tear’s world. Destroying the sugar cube floor that have been build up for a long time. They almost separated from the jolt. But Emma didn’t let Tear hand go... because she finally accept her. CHAPTER THREE: TEAR (BLACK TITLE DROP) 2:44 After the giant Gel Beaver eats them. They drown in the tears they have been holding all this time. Tear hug her tightly. She moves Emma’s bang that initially cover her right face and let her go again to the real world. They become one. Now, a new version of both of them appear in the real world. The colour of hair, eyes, and lip are Emma’s. The colour of dress and ribbon are Tear’s. This is the real her. (Credits roll) She now satisfied with herself. But she need to pay to the “monster”. And thus she too (in the end) become a “monster”. END To be continued in Junky Night Town Orchestra.
Additional explanation: (1) Beaver is a slang for female genital. Emma works at a brothel. (2) I have several meaning/symbol for each character: Emma = left brain (logic/thinking) because her hair cover her right face Tear = comfort zone, right brain (emotion) because her hair cover her left face Gel beavers = defense mechanism Dream = desire to move on Sugar cube = suppressed emotion Tear + Gel Beavers = comfort Gel Beaver + Dream = need to grow/transform, to become better Monster (Emma with beaver head) = she lost herself Glass of water = I’m not sure what is it, could be contained tear, or she’s already so good not to cry (3) 0:45 If Emma wants something the sugar cube pilling up and she turns blue. (4) 0:55 The mirror is where we know which side of the world are we. Is it illusion (Tear's world) or real world (Emma's). 1:06 See how the mirror have the colour blue and around it is darkish pink? It'll be a reoccurring colour theme in this MV. And when Emma fall into the mirror it changes from redish pink 1:10 → pink 1:13 → purple 1:14 → blue 1:15. It could also mean it’s the unconscious mind since it’s that deep. (5) 1:16 The floor is made up from a sugar cube. (6) 1:34 We’re still in Tear’s world because it’s the colour blue around the mirror. (7) 1:42 Can someone help me with this one? What bothering me is why the pupa blue and the butterfly pink? [Edit: it could be if she remain in the comfort zone, she couldn't turn to be as beautiful as the butterfly (metaphorically)] (8) 1:56 Emma never actually go to Tear’s world physically, it’s only on her mind (to escape the pain I guess?). (9) 2:04 Little Emma perfectly matching her stuffed Beaver (10) 2:06 Tear was born. (11) 2:12 The appearance of Doctor from Junky Night Town Orchestra. (12) 2:26 This MV likes to play with colour. From dark blue to light blue. This is the first step towards their unity. (13) 2:41 Emma’s crying. (14) 2:53 See Tear’s blue nail is in the same place as the blue hairpin 1:58 3:43? I love this detail. (15) 3:33 It might not mean anything but she change her hand from left 0:25 to right. I think she appreciate Tear more now. (16) 3:35 “You too are a Beaver” I take this as the “monster” since he also the antagonist in Junky Night Town Orchestra. 3:43 “I am a Beaver” because in the end she gives “help” under him. (17) 3:51 There’s a red zero number from Junky Night Town Orchestra. This is a prequel song.
Theory time! In short, this is a story about Emma overcome her past and try to move on to become the best version of herself. There’s indication of drug use in the lyric “my left brain is melting (tokeru sanou)”. Left brain is responsible for logical thinking. So I take it as “because I consume the drug my left brain is melting (unable to think with logic)”. I think it’s match because when the lyric was sung at 1:16 it was when Emma already in her illusion (Tear’s world) to escape reality. As for Doctor involvement in this story I have some speculation: To make it easier to follow the next song. Let’s assume Doctor is a patron in the brothel Emma is working (specifically he come for her). He likes nurse cosplay, that’s why we see Emma using nurse outfit in the next song. 1. Doctor “help” her throughout her process Just when she become a “monster”, Doctor come in her life. I think all the struggle inside her head is under the Doctor influence too. He’s also the one who gives Dream to Emma. That means he’s already there before the appearance at 2:12 (I’m assuming it’s either when Emma enter her illusion or in that screen which say “to be continued” with butterfly of Dream come out from the pupa). That’s why she need to pay for Doctor’s “help”. (If he comes when Emma enter her illusion, he could probably the one who gives Emma the drug too) 2. Emma feels Doctor is the same as her This is from the lyric “you too a beaver (kimi mo biibaa) 3:36” and “I am a Beaver (atashi biibaa) 3:43”. Frequently visited her, she knows her patron. While she succeed becoming the best of herself... he’s not. So when he have a project he’s working on (see Junky Night Town Orchestra). Emma willingly help him, leaving her job to join Doctor’s project. (There’s also this lyric “a single, bright red flower for a worthless, stupid life (kudaranai, baka na ikizama ni; makka ni someagaru hana o hitotsu) 3:00” she’s getting fed up/tired with the life she is now? So it makes sense if she join Doctor) 3. Doctor recruit her Instead of influencing her, he just see her process from outside perspective (perhaps it’s explain his pose and expression at 2:12). When she finally defeat herself/past/trauma (referencing the lyric “I won’t lose (makeru na yo) 1:09”, “can I win (kateru ka yo) 2:26”, and “am I losing (makeru ka yo) 3:14”) and become the best of herself, he thinks she’s the partner he needs for his project (especially for handling the drug because she’s using it). I’m thinking in this speculation he’s not Emma’s patron but still visit the brothel. So she’s kinda taken aback when Doctor recruit her at 3:35. The main idea (Emma works at a brothel, Doctor is a patron of the brothel, Doctor take Emma, we see Junky Night Town Orchestra protagonist after that, and Emma being Nurse) somehow strengthen the theory that the protagonist is indeed the child of Doctor and Emma.
This is not from the MV but I find it in the album’s CD. The triangle/pyramid we see in both MV is supposed to reference “Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs”. I hope this explain a bit: 5. Physiological needs 4. Safety needs 3. Social needs/Love and belonging 2. Esteem 1. Self-actualization But instead with the actual name of the pyramid, they change it into “Pandemic” 3:12. It’s still too early to know what it mean but I already have a guess. What I get is... while addressing each stage in one song. They actually make every character reach the ultimate stage (self-actualization). You can see how Protagonist can still be himself even though he using his lunatic outfit or Emma finally satisfied with herself. Physiological needs → Junky Night Town Orchestra Safety needs → Beaver If my theory right, we will still get three more song after this! (My guess: social needs is for little girl, esteem is for hoody guy, and self-actualization is for Doctor)

Story explanation time!
I make this based on both the MV and the lyric with some comments from Japanese fans so I can understand the symbolism better. However my Japanese isn’t that good, there might be a mistake but I hope this trigger more theory from us who love this music series.
CHAPTER ONE: EMMA (PINK TITLE DROP) 0:11
Someone inside the mirror (herself) always ask her, “who are you?”. She can’t answer it and it’s devouring her everyday. She just knows there’s a “monster” and deep down she knows that “monster” is in herself.
She have illusion in her mind filled with sweet things (what she want). In the real world, she likes to compare things that she can’t have like not having enough money and beauty, can’t get in the same circle as her colleagues, etc. She bit her lip to suppress her emotion. In the illusion world, she knows it’s useless to compare things.
But it becoming unbearable. Her illusion starting to pull her more and more. A blue Gel Beavers getting ready to welcome her. She actually want those things she desire. And just like that, her illusion take her over.
Now, leaving the real world (falling deep down to her illusion). She faced her other self, Tear, far more superior than her (in this world). Giving the comfort she needs by instructing Gel Beavers to pile up the sugar cube.
CHAPTER TWO: BEAVER (BLUE TITLE DROP) 1:28
In the real world she face many things that make her cry. But it’s no big deal in this world. The Gel Beavers will give you as many comfort as you want.
It went for some time until Emma feels uncomfortable about all this thing, something wrong. Tear just looking at her like saying, “what could possibly happen in this safe world?”. But the thing is, there’s something new in this world, something have emerge from within her and it’s the butterfly of Dream.
Suddenly, she remembered her past full of abuse. At first she would cry. But she bit her lower lip, mimicking her only comfort, a stuffed beaver to suppressed the emotion. Inside, the emotion was overflowing. It created flood but Gel Beavers came to rescued her by using a sugar cube to float.
In the real world, she can’t compete with the other. She can no longer contain her emotion and it’s leaking. If Tear completely take over she’ll become a “monster”.
When they arguing. A Gel Beaver eats Dream and it become giant. Tear’s in shock because she never see something like this, it’s new to her. “Why Gel Beaver choose (eat) Dream than me (my need for comfort)?”. Just when Tear froze, Emma take her hand to save them both from the scene. This Gel Beaver making havoc in Tear’s world. Destroying the sugar cube floor that have been build up for a long time. They almost separated from the jolt. But Emma didn’t let Tear hand go... because she finally accept her.
CHAPTER THREE: TEAR (BLACK TITLE DROP) 2:44
After the giant Gel Beaver eats them. They drown in the tears they have been holding all this time. Tear hug her tightly. She moves Emma’s bang that initially cover her right face and let her go again to the real world. They become one.
Now, a new version of both of them appear in the real world. The colour of hair, eyes, and lip are Emma’s. The colour of dress and ribbon are Tear’s. This is the real her.

She now satisfied with herself. But she need to pay to the “monster”. And thus she too (in the end) become a “monster”.

(1) Beaver is a slang for female genital. Emma works at a brothel.
(2) I have several meaning/symbol for each character:
Emma = left brain (logic/thinking) because her hair cover her right face
Tear = comfort zone, right brain (emotion) because her hair cover her left face
Gel beavers = defense mechanism
Dream = desire to move on
Sugar cube = suppressed emotion
Tear + Gel Beavers = comfort
Gel Beaver + Dream = need to grow/transform, to become better
Monster (Emma with beaver head) = she lost herself
Glass of water = I’m not sure what is it, could be contained tear, or she’s already so good not to cry
(3) 0:45 If Emma wants something the sugar cube pilling up and she turns blue.
(4) 0:55 The mirror is where we know which side of the world are we. Is it illusion (Tear's world) or real world (Emma's). 1:06 See how the mirror have the colour blue and around it is darkish pink? It'll be a reoccurring colour theme in this MV. And when Emma fall into the mirror it changes from redish pink 1:10 → pink 1:13 → purple 1:14 → blue 1:15. It could also mean it’s the unconscious mind since it’s that deep.
(5) 1:16 The floor is made up from a sugar cube.
(6) 1:34 We’re still in Tear’s world because it’s the colour blue around the mirror.
(7) 1:42 Can someone help me with this one? What bothering me is why the pupa blue and the butterfly pink?
[Edit: it could be if she remain in the comfort zone, she couldn't turn to be as beautiful as the butterfly (metaphorically)]
(8) 1:56 Emma never actually go to Tear’s world physically, it’s only on her mind (to escape the pain I guess?).
(9) 2:04 Little Emma perfectly matching her stuffed Beaver
(10) 2:06 Tear was born.
(11) 2:12 The appearance of Doctor from Junky Night Town Orchestra.
(12) 2:26 This MV likes to play with colour. From dark blue to light blue. This is the first step towards their unity.

(14) 2:53 See Tear’s blue nail is in the same place as the blue hairpin 1:58 3:43? I love this detail.
(15) 3:33 It might not mean anything but she change her hand from left 0:25 to right. I think she appreciate Tear more now.
(16) 3:35 “You too are a Beaver” I take this as the “monster” since he also the antagonist in Junky Night Town Orchestra. 3:43 “I am a Beaver” because in the end she gives “help” under him.
(17) 3:51 There’s a red zero number from Junky Night Town Orchestra. This is a prequel song.
Theory time!
In short, this is a story about Emma overcome her past and try to move on to become the best version of herself.
There’s indication of drug use in the lyric “my left brain is melting (tokeru sanou)”. Left brain is responsible for logical thinking. So I take it as “because I consume the drug my left brain is melting (unable to think with logic)”. I think it’s match because when the lyric was sung at 1:16 it was when Emma already in her illusion (Tear’s world) to escape reality.
As for Doctor involvement in this story I have some speculation:
To make it easier to follow the next song. Let’s assume Doctor is a patron in the brothel Emma is working (specifically he come for her). He likes nurse cosplay, that’s why we see Emma using nurse outfit in the next song.
1. Doctor “help” her throughout her process
Just when she become a “monster”, Doctor come in her life. I think all the struggle inside her head is under the Doctor influence too. He’s also the one who gives Dream to Emma. That means he’s already there before the appearance at 2:12 (I’m assuming it’s either when Emma enter her illusion or in that screen which say “to be continued” with butterfly of Dream come out from the pupa). That’s why she need to pay for Doctor’s “help”.
(If he comes when Emma enter her illusion, he could probably the one who gives Emma the drug too)
2. Emma feels Doctor is the same as her
This is from the lyric “you too a beaver (kimi mo biibaa) 3:36” and “I am a Beaver (atashi biibaa) 3:43”. Frequently visited her, she knows her patron. While she succeed becoming the best of herself... he’s not. So when he have a project he’s working on (see Junky Night Town Orchestra). Emma willingly help him, leaving her job to join Doctor’s project. (There’s also this lyric “a single, bright red flower for a worthless, stupid life (kudaranai, baka na ikizama ni; makka ni someagaru hana o hitotsu) 3:00” she’s getting fed up/tired with the life she is now? So it makes sense if she join Doctor)
3. Doctor recruit her
Instead of influencing her, he just see her process from outside perspective (perhaps it’s explain his pose and expression at 2:12). When she finally defeat herself/past/trauma (referencing the lyric “I won’t lose (makeru na yo) 1:09”, “can I win (kateru ka yo) 2:26”, and “am I losing (makeru ka yo) 3:14”) and become the best of herself, he thinks she’s the partner he needs for his project (especially for handling the drug because she’s using it). I’m thinking in this speculation he’s not Emma’s patron but still visit the brothel. So she’s kinda taken aback when Doctor recruit her at 3:35.
The main idea (Emma works at a brothel, Doctor is a patron of the brothel, Doctor take Emma, we see Junky Night Town Orchestra protagonist after that, and Emma being Nurse) somehow strengthen the theory that the protagonist is indeed the child of Doctor and Emma.
This is not from the MV but I find it in the album’s CD. The triangle/pyramid we see in both MV is supposed to reference “Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs”. I hope this explain a bit:

But instead with the actual name of the pyramid, they change it into “Pandemic” 3:12. It’s still too early to know what it mean but I already have a guess.
What I get is... while addressing each stage in one song. They actually make every character reach the ultimate stage (self-actualization). You can see how Protagonist can still be himself even though he using his lunatic outfit or Emma finally satisfied with herself.
Physiological needs → Junky Night Town Orchestra
Safety needs → Beaver
If my theory right, we will still get three more song after this!
(My guess: social needs is for little girl, esteem is for hoody guy, and self-actualization is for Doctor)
