I don't know about that...the sequel had so much wrong with it that Thomas Jane not being in it was kind of a blessing. Look at Ryan Reynolds in X-Men Origins, great casting but a horrible role in a horrible movie.

I agree, and while I "liked" Bernthal, I don't think he understood the character as well as Jane did. Netflix Punisher talked a lot, was very aggro and prone to outbursts, while I feel the comic/Jane Punisher was cold as ice. Also it frustrated me that they focused his backstory/revenge plot every season. The Punisher isn't really motivated by revenge. Idk how they have three seasons of this guy, and we barely see him in the shirt/fighting crime/being the actual hero. Kinda disappointing. Fight scenes were great though.

I wonder if there are others who've watched this clip dozens of times? If it pops up on my feed I always watch it again, there's just something so outrageously mesmerizing about this scene, the cutting, the filming, the justice, the punishment, Thomas Janes's awesome performance, Perlman's great in it too. The cuts to the laundry mat are terrific, everything about this scene is so well done. I've never been able to figure out how many bad guys the punisher actually kills in this scene, got to be around 5 or 6 of them, but the set up is such that you just have to cheer the brutal payback

Underrated line when he references sobriety then buys the Jack... he wasn't 6 months clean from liquor. He was 6 months clean from punishing. But Frank can't give it up, even though he knows in the end it will kill him.

I think The Punisher movie is underrated. It did take some liberties, like not taking place in NY. But the story was tragic, cathartic, emotional. Thomas Jane did a great job imo. He was the best part of the film for sure. This short film is awesome, and Thomas Jane as The Punisher always worked for me. I can see him in the role again, maybe as an older Frank Castle.

The Punisher: Dirty Laundry. Nothing in the Punisher series is this cool. Thomas Jane plays the lead role, and he has a great atmosphere and is one of my favorite actors. A vigilante is a kind of vigilante who solves problems that the police can't solve, but there are risks involved. I think that aspect is well expressed as a Marvel Comics work. Unlike other Punisher series, it's rather plain, but I think it's good that it looks real. It feels good no matter how many times I watch it!
I still wonder how Henry Rollins would have been in the role but yeah, I like Thomas Jane's interpretation. Too bad this is the closest we've ever gotten to a sequel to the 2004 flick. P.S. The extended cut is better than the theatrical cut.
It almost happened. A sequel was officially announced and had been in development for three years. But after Thomas Jane pulled out due to creative differences, the sequel was cancelled, and the project morphed into a full reboot which eventually became Punisher: Warzone (2008)
Such a shame Jane didn't get a 2nd film... The first one was brilliant but if he'd done a sequel and it had been gritty realistic like this, it would have been legendary. Just like this.
Kind a love how slow the entire scene is. You'd think Punisher would wreck these creeps the moment they show up and cause havoc. But he actually takes his time, so much so that you wonder if he is gonna do anything at all. You have the conversation with the store clerk, also an ex military, who got shit on when he showed courage and now doesn't care anymore. So when Frank finally does act, its all the more satisfying.
It is a crime that they did not make another Punisher movie with Thomas Jane.

It almost happened. A sequel was officially announced and had been in development for three years. But after Thomas Jane pulled out due to creative differences, the sequel was cancelled, and the project morphed into a full reboot which eventually became Punisher: Warzone (2008)
This just makes me mad because its so fn good and we will never get another.

Kind a love how slow the entire scene is. You'd think Punisher would wreck these creeps the moment they show up and cause havoc.
But he actually takes his time, so much so that you wonder if he is gonna do anything at all. You have the conversation with the store clerk, also an ex military, who got shit on when he showed courage and now doesn't care anymore. So when Frank finally does act, its all the more satisfying.
I think all of the Punisher actors have been great in their own way.
Alcohol on the open wounds caused by those compound fractures would hurt like hell.
