Thanks Crystal, I tried my first cut and learned something. I was going to make several glasses so I decided to put all the initials I was going to use on the Silhouette and cut them out all at once. This was practical and worked well. What I learned was after cutting them out before weeding I should have cut each Initial with backing out individually. I didn't do this and when weeding the vinyl would stick to other sections and I had a huge mess. Took for ever to get them all weeded out. Now I cut on silhouette as a group but then I cut by hand out individually before weeding - works much better.
This was a great video!!! So happy you were straight to the point! Learned what I was doing wrong. I don't let mine dry as long and I didn't double the coats on anything! Also, OUTDOOR VINYL!!!!! I was like DUH Kaila!!! Great video I am going to subscribe!!!! Muah!
THANK YOU SO MUCH for the tutorial on how to use glitter without wasting it and getting it all over everything! I know that is not the complete video but this is by far the BEST personalized object with glitter, I've seen.
Thank you so much for this video. I have bought the glasses but haven't had the courage to try it yet. With your video I think I have got this now. Again Thank you so much!!
This was the best tutorial I have every seen. Detail easy to follow instructions, great speed and an awesome product in the end!! Thanks for sharing, I'll be trying this!!!
Very well done. First tutorial i have ever seen that explains everything. I would like to know what kind of machine did you use to make those letter and material. thank you
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I haven't worked with vinyl yet, but I have been looking at all the posts of these wine glasses. I have my Cameo since January and I have been doing paper crafting on it, but I do intend to do vinyl also.
Hi love the glasses ! I've been trying to use white printable vinyl but is not looking like yours. Can you use outdoor vinyl to print on using a home printer ?
Hi, love what you've made! can you please advise me, on how to seal and finish a painted glass vase, once the paint is dry. I'll be using acrylics and floetrol. Thankyou
You have done a terrific tutorial! Thank you so much for sharing your techniques! Very kind of you to tell us exactly how to do it :) Thanks! I will have to make some for Christmas Gifts :)
Hi Crystal, Have you ever used the mod podge over a stencil you made on the cricut and then glittered that? wondered if it would stay as well as vinyl, and if you would suggest leaving the stencil on while it dries and you put more layers on.
+Carole Bebbington-Clarke i live in the uk and i get mine fee from sign factories they have so much they throw away they are happy to give it to you you do get a range of colours but not always the one you want but so far i have never brought any but you are right the UK is very poor at craft outlets but do look in your area for sign factories and contact them good luck
do you find that contact paper works just as well as transfer tape? I definitely know there is a price difference between the two....plus I like that contact paper has a more clear view to help with the placement of the design too...
your video is good clear concise instruction good camera work and I like the way your not to proud to show you have flaws in your work as your learning the effects still yourself but that is the best time to show others as then your viewers won't feel to scared try. Chrystal I like your Channel very much anyone with negative comments obviously have nothing better to do than watch people helping others to learn a craft & then sit down & instead of trying the craft (which perhaps they feel to inept to do) they will type nasty & incorrect statements. However these people are not worth you time in fact they are not worth anyone's time when it comes down to it nasty people get there just deserts at the end of the day we only have to answer for what we do in our own lives & how we treat others. ILOVE YOUR GLASSES & have two friends getting married soon so I think I will give this a go I'll get some champagne glitter & gold & Cream vinyl. Thank you So much Keep up the good work Crystal.
What kind of vinyl did you say you used? I have alot of trouble doing small thin lines like that. Mine does not stick to the glass that easy i scrape scrape scrape and it wont stick.
first of all an excellent presentation I am having a few problems which I thought you may be able to help me with, !st when I apply my vinyl using an application tape, the vinyl will not come off the application tape no matter how much I tried to go over it again and again, I have changed from an application tape to a low tac spray paint masking vinyl, and although I am having a slightly better success, the vinyl is not sticking as good as yours, I have quite easily pulled off the vinyl on the glass, so even when I get the Vinyl on the glass it is not permanent, What am I doing wrong? and what type of application tape are you using for the vinyl to stick to the glass, I am using outdoor sign vinyl, hope you can help me
David Storey Hi David I'm sorry to hear you are having problems. Here is what I use for the vinyl it's outdoor oracal 651 it says that on the back. Then for the transfer paper I use contact paper that you can buy at the dollar store. I hope that helps and wish you the best of luck. This may sound like a stupid question, but do you clean your glasses with rubbing alcohol before you apply your vinyl.
Hi Crystal, I'm doing glasses for my wedding party. I have everything else except the letters and the paper to put them on the glasses. Please help need to know what type of paper I need to use. Was that fine glitter that you use on the glasses?
I don't have a machine, and not very crafty. Would love to make these for friends. Do craft stores have letters, and names that can be used on glass surfaces such as these wine glasses?
You are so talented. Will definitely try to make some here in Kenya.thanks for the nice tutorial. One question though, how do you call the last part of sticking the words to the glass,or Rather how are those called?how are they printed?are they hand made or something?...
Re you dabbing or wiping the mod podge and thick on the stem? And what are you using to transfer the words to the class? And lastly are you pressing the words onto the glass at the end with s paper towel or cloth Btw they are beautiful
That was amazing. Thank you for this tutorial. It is straight forward and definitely time consuming but fun. Thanks again. I'm going to be brave and give it a shot for my wedding :)
This is a great video very detailed and you explained everything pretty well. However you lost me when it came to the cutting of the vinyl for the letter. What so we need to cut the vinyl and is there somewhere that could do that for me like Kinkos or somewhere. Also I do think I heard where you bought the vinyl from. I'm going to make these for a bachelorette party favor.. Thanks so much
Great video and very to the point. I appreciate the true timing you included in this video. I planned to have this as a project for my girlfriends and I but I will have to do the glitter part myself because after a few glasses of wine we might have glitter on the wine bottles rather than the wine glasses🤣
I am new to my Cricut Explore Air 2. This video is SO helpful! Thank you so much! Can you do this (the glittering) with the ModPodge on an acrylic tumbler, instead of getting into the whole epoxy procedure?
Very nice!!! Loved it. What was your blade speed and force speed? I’m having a hard time trying to weed. I would like it to come right off like yours did. I’m using the cameo 3 and 651 vinyl
