It'd be cool if you did a review of the e-reader stages in Super Mario Advance 4 as its own game. Is the closest thing to an original Mario platformer on the GBA, and similar to New Super Luigi U, the game is harder and each stage features a very memorable concept. I suspect that was done to justify the $3 pricetag each level had originally, a really steep price, but now the whole thing can be purchased in the Wii U's virtual console, so that's good. The game even has rumble support, so if you play it with the EZ-Omega Definitive Edition, you'll get that extra feature.
Very good Video Demeech! I enjoyed it a lot! I'm actually one if those Players who actually did unlock Red Yoshi! I started playing the game in March of 2017 because that's when it released on Android and I didn't unlock him till 2019 I believe. All I did was grind the 1,000 yellow toads playing desert levels and after that I just played everything else and eventually got 9999 Toads. It took quite a bit. I didn't play constantly and everyday though I spaced it out. The game is great overall. My grioes with it are: No Forest Levels for Toad Rally Having to be online at all times to play I can't really think of anything else to complain about lol. I'm pleased it was a one time purchase and I own it forever!
I liked this game. This autorunner kind of 2D Mario felt fresh. And playing as Yoshi and Daisy is interesting. I really, really hope someone can somehow manage to actually download the complete game, because I would hate not to be able to play it anymore when Nintendo shuts it down. I mean, I paid for the full game smh. I want to still be able to play it in the far future.
We probably won't get a paid version anytime soon. I tried finding one and every website always has either a fake app, a virus, or unpaid version of the game. I don't know if people are intentionally scamming us or Nintendo was smart to make their games very secured and difficult to hack.
I actually remember that event when Super Mario Run was announced and was excited for it. What bothers me is that you technically have to buy the game to go through all 8 worlds (yes it's free to download, I meant the levels you have to pay for. I'm glad Dr. Mario World and Mario Kart Tour aren't like this). The gameplay was good and I was surprised by the amount of new content and features that was added at the time. Some people might've seen me be a bit harsh on this lately (I didn't mean to if out seem that way) but it's not that I hate this game. I still find it fun after not playing it for so long. I noticed when looking into the app recently, it didn't update much. There could've been more worlds and characters like in Dr. Mario World. But yeah it's an alright game and it's less than $5 if anyone's wondering how much you need to purchase the last 6 worlds. I was happy to see Daisy and more alternate colored Yoshis in the game. I don't know if Super Mario Run is canon though.
@@ElectroBlastLuigi technically not, free to play is the whole game free with micro transactions as a option, you run out of the free worlds and made to pay the 10 dollars to continue it, truly not free to play
I legitimately think this game is good. One of the few mobile games I enjoyed and the idea of being able to purchase the game and just enjoy the entire thing is great. I’m not a fan of micro transactions at all lol
Exactly. And I think Nintendo made the right move and didn’t put digital controls on the game. The game is simple but it accomplishes what it sets out to do.
It's kinda sad that Super Mario Run failed to meet expectations for Nintendo. I heard originally Nintendo wanted to make all their mobile games a one-time payment fee, but with the underperformance of Super Mario Run, and Fire Emblem Heroes making so much money, Nintendo abandon their one-time payment mindest and decided to make all their mobile games free-to-play.
Welp, I just don’t wanna pay $10. It could be the greatest video game in the world. I just don’t wanna pay $10 to play a game on my phone when there are a bunch of free options.
I enjoy it The two things that bother me though, is that you need to pay to progress in the story And the game àlways crashes just when I'm doing an insane rally run, èvery time. Just poof, black screen all of a sudden and then it restarts, and I lose Toads..
I recently bought this game for my 6 year old who is on a Mario obsession spree and gave it a go myself and ended up loving it. It is a shame it was a flop for Nintendo because they made a hidden gem imo. An auto runner Mario sounds like it defeats the purpose of Mario but they made it work. It has plenty of challenge to 100% and it is a perfect mobile game in terms of size of levels and the like. I would have loved seeing an improved and a bit bigger sequel in scope but oh well. I'm glad I discovered it! I see a lot of comparison to Mario Kart Tour (I pay the sub for it) and I don't see it. Completely different games from their conception so I dont see much comparison to be had. I'm just gonna say that I've had a lot of fun in both.
Nice job giving your take on this game, Demeech. One thing you forgot to mention is that Peach is also playable, playing similarly to how she did in 3D World (and much better than Peachette in NSMBUDX, I might add). Failing that, the notion that this game could very well join the ever-increasing list of lost Nintendo games should Nintendo ever 86 the servers is pretty upsetting, as this game has a very unique gameplay style unlike anything else in the main Mario series. Plus, it was Daisy's first appearance in a mainline Mario game since her debut (unless you count her Mystery Mushroom costume from Super Mario Maker), which was pretty awesome all things considered. The only thing that would've made the roster better is if Rosalina was playable, thus reuniting all of the 3D World playable characters sans Captain Toad and allowing for the largest roster of a mainline Mario game.
Just found this channel a few days ago, and am surprised how relatively small the channel is! This is great stuff dude! Unsolicited opinion of a new subscriber, but just my take; it's annoying scrolling through your upload catalog with the amount of shorts you post. Maybe this is just me, but I think your strongest content by far are your video essays, and personally I think you're doing yourself a disservice uploading such a large amount of shorts to this channel. Your long form content seems to be what you're best at and what most audiences are watching you for (judging by the numbers on your recent New Super Mario Bros essay series). I'm aware you have playlists, the 'Trash or Treasure' one is really handy, but I think it'd be better if you split most of your shorts off into your second channel 'Mini Meech' and had a clearer focus on your video essays and editorials here. That's not to say don't post any shorts here, but I think it'd be better if they were less often and most of your future shorts are posted on another channel if you want to keep making as many as you do currently. Again, this is just an unsolicted opinion from a stranger who only recently found you. Perhaps your regular audience craves the shorts and the channel would plummet without them, I'm by no means an expert after finding your channel 4 days ago. But maybe my thoughts echo other recent subscribers and potential future ones. Obviously do what is best for your channel! Again, awesome stuff, and looking forward to more!
I'm glad to see somebody talk about this game. A few phones ago I downloaded this game and thought it was completely worth it to only have to spend $10 for an entire game instead of having to deal with all those damn micro transactions. There are too many smartphone games out there that just quite frankly are not fun to play because you have to wait for hours just to be allowed to play again or make progress at a level or whatever the case may be unless you spend some money to do that. Nobody's going to want to spend money every single time. I played this game on the Android version by the way. Also there's just one thing I would like to suggest next time you upload footage of a smartphone game that does not have landscape mode and it's forced to do portrait mode. I don't know what you use for editing, but when I've used Premiere Pro to try to edit videos to a point where they can be used as a short I have changed the the dimensions so that it would fit the screen size required for a short period if you did that for the screen size of your video, I think it would make it easier to see everything that's on screen. Yes phone viewers would have to watch this video in portrait mode like the have to play the game in that mode, but it's just a suggestion. Obviously you don't have to. This is still a great video and you explained everything really well. As far as I know there is supposed to be a way to keep the save data from one phone to the next but I just never bothered it with it for some reason. I kind of wish I did, but oh well. It's been years since I played this game now.
Well the fact that people didn't buy mario run is kinda what made em go "Yeah this doesn't work... microtransaction time!", but to be fair, 10 bucks is a lil too much for a mobile game, at 4,99 or 5,99, it would have been way better.
Honestly if the game added some actual challenge instead of just the different colored coins you’d have to collect, and the fact you’d have to hand over ten dollars, which is an absurd price for a mobile game, and one i’ve only seen happen in one other game, then it’d be a decent game. But my problem is that it got repetitive after the first level. It’s just like “oh it’s just the tutorial level, but without all the dialogue, and they shifted the blocks a little”. The game feels more like a cheap cash grab than an actual game
I'm sorta surprised that you didn't mention the gacha mechanic in remix 10 (the bonus game and super bonus game) which btw is the only way to obtain certain buildings and decorations (such as the nintendo switch statue). It's interily luck based wether or not you'll get a new building or decorationsmeaning it can take many tries/pulls to get a new building/decoration making it a pain to fully fill out the notebook
I unlocked everything in this game except Red Yoshi. At the time that I unlokced everything, I was only 20% of the way to the goal. Ridiculous doesn't even beging to describe it. That was even AFTER playing 300 Remix 10 courses to get Daisy. What killed the game for me was the seeming bug that you could actually lose Toads from Toad Rally. The better you did, the more you lost. If they fixed that one thing, I'd probably go back and get Red Yoshi. But losing 300 Toads by being 2 seconds behind the ghost player is a real buzzkill.
14:15 technically when u mod the game u can play it offline, i also was very disappointed when i saw that u couldn’t play it offline normally but it’s still a very great game and i definitely was hyped :D!!
I don't know how it compares to Mario Kart Tour, but I've watched Animal Crossing Pocket Camp fall more and more into microtransactions since its release. They now are at the level of multistage subscription services for in-game perks... it's just sad
Demeech, I'd recommend you play Undertale. It's a hilarious indie game about morality, it's the game with the funny skeleton, there are no paper toads, and most importantly, it's not Pac Man for the atari 3600. Plus, I could give you some tips for the game.
I notice you forgot to mention that Peach is playable in Super Mario Run after you finish the main final stage on Level 8. And I wish this game got some more love
Nintendo can easily update the game add new levels, characters etc...they simply choose not too they stole everyone’s $10 n resumed focus towards odyssey😂 Now Mario 3D Land NEEDS to be ur next video🙏🏽
@@gamingnubs7628 So you rather have an empty have that rarely updates and barely adds anything? The last major update I recall had a music box and when Daisy was available and that was like a year after that game launched.
@@ElectroBlastLuigi or you rather have ads and making monthly payments for the same content you mentioned? Tour had terrible monetisation, which would have been applied to Run if it still got supported.
@@gamingnubs7628 You're not forced to make monthly payments to progress through a mobile game. None of Nintendo's mobile games have ads and still make profit from the company as well as anybody that chose to pay for something within the game (don't say I proved your point), and you're only saying Tour has bad monetization because of OPTIONAL microtransactions, hence gamers having the option to buy in-app purchases. Just stick to buying console DLC microtransactions that you pay hundreds of dollars just for a piranha plant or something. This microtransaction argument is very annoying and it wasn't an issue back in 2009.

I wholeheartedly agree that remix 10's music is a bop And honestly I find the starman theme is best in any mario game by far, maybe tied with the one from origami king
I never minded that it has s price tag. I never bothered with this game due to the constant need to be online. When this game was released I was on the train pretty much every day. Perfect for playing such a game... or not, because like 80-90% of the route had no service.
I actually managed to unlock Daisy without paying the game and it was tedious as fuck, I did it in like 5+ months because of the F2P cooldown. But it was worth it for Daisy
This game is a lot of fun to play, however i cannot justify the 10$ price tag considering how incredibly short the main game mode is. Even if you collect all the hidden coins and unlock the extra pipes, the game still feels like it's missing something and leaves me wanting for more content. I'm 100% certain the game would have made more profit if the Greetendo dropped the price at 5$
I’m sorry but I’m not paying 10$ for a runner mobile game that can’t be played offline and doesn’t have an endless mode or something like that Nice vid as always, Demeech
I think Super Mario Run was like an experimental first release of Nintendo game in mobiles phones. Later It will be more like the famous japanese mobile game's system: gacha and paid-gems system, like Mario Kart Tour. The paid content from Super Mario Run was similar to the DLC of New Super Mario Bros 2. Maybe it is hard to pay for something that is somehow recycled...?
Daisy is able to be won by f2p players, which is also why tickets are a thing. I suppose it will make you understand why they are more tedious than the rest now!

IM SO EXCITED FOR THIS!!!
My grioes with it are:
No Forest Levels for Toad Rally
Having to be online at all times to play
I can't really think of anything else to complain about lol. I'm pleased it was a one time purchase and I own it forever!
I forgot how hard it was to get red yoshi when I got it a long time ago
that 'crack' joke absolutely suckerpunched me, well done
Nintendo puts more priority in their mobile games for Mario Kart and 2D Mario
So you’re basically arguing for the free to play model…
@@leeartlee915 SMRun is free to play...
@@ElectroBlastLuigi Don’t you need to pay $10 to unlock the levels?
@@ElectroBlastLuigi technically not, free to play is the whole game free with micro transactions as a option, you run out of the free worlds and made to pay the 10 dollars to continue it, truly not free to play
12:42 "Look I love mario games, but I also love life." 😂
I legitimately think this game is good.
„Most forgotten”
Super Mario Bros Special: *am i a joke to you?*
"Super Mario 3D land": ☹️
6:03 You gotta appreciate how he puts super Mario Bros 2 USA theme when talking about other characters ability a feature in the super Mario Bros 2 usa
Always online makes me think that somebody was watching E3 2012 Microsoft's presentation.
fun game that i still play, has plenty of content for a fairly cheap mobile game without microtransactions.
6:58 Waluigi looks ridicilously adorable in that Yoshi costume
So i generaly despise vertical videos but thats the one video where it makes more sense than horizontal.
So why it isnt?
Mario run, the game we all played until it asked us to pay and the deleted it instantly.
The fact that you just ignored the fact that peach is also playable just because you don't like her is really unesasarry tbh
I did it to avoid spoilers
Welp, I just don’t wanna pay $10. It could be the greatest video game in the world. I just don’t wanna pay $10 to play a game on my phone when there are a bunch of free options.
This might be my favorite Mario game in terms of mechanics and gameplay
3:42 is unhinged
Where can I get the sound when DEMEECH’S FURY activates?
I enjoy it
The two things that bother me though, is that you need to pay to progress in the story
And the game àlways crashes just when I'm doing an insane rally run, èvery time. Just poof, black screen all of a sudden and then it restarts, and I lose Toads..
Same i cant even control
I do wish that Nintendo gave it more levels.
I also feel that Nintendo should put their legacy content on mobile but that’s just me.
Mario is missing and the forgotten levels: So I don't exist now huh
"Yoshi can flutterjump, and he can walk on spikes! Toadette is kinda useless..." Damn Demeech, did her dirty lol
You just made me remember that I unlocked all the gold statues on there and stopped playing after that-
I bet this game would’ve sold more if it were on the switch
The only thing that would've made the roster better is if Rosalina was playable, thus reuniting all of the 3D World playable characters sans Captain Toad and allowing for the largest roster of a mainline Mario game.
i think the most forgotten mario game i know is that game titled mario world that came with the 3rd edition of that famicom keyboard
Where does the 10 years sfx come from? It sounds familiar.
Yay im in a Mario game and honestly never expected that
Fun fact, there is a very popular German rapper (Symba) who named one of his songs after this game
Can I just say though that it is nice to see Peach finally go on one of these adventures for once!
i loved that game, still have a little town with the whole game finished sitting around on my old ipad
Well the fact that people didn't buy mario run is kinda what made em go "Yeah this doesn't work... microtransaction time!", but to be fair, 10 bucks is a lil too much for a mobile game, at 4,99 or 5,99, it would have been way better.
If this game didn’t need an internet connection it would be a lot better. MK Tour would be better too if it didn’t need online
Hmm its 4 dollars in my country
Mans getting really creative with these titles lol XD
(By that I mean the title on the thumbnail)
I'm sorta surprised that you didn't mention the gacha mechanic in remix 10 (the bonus game and super bonus game) which btw is the only way to obtain certain buildings and decorations (such as the nintendo switch statue). It's interily luck based wether or not you'll get a new building or decorationsmeaning it can take many tries/pulls to get a new building/decoration making it a pain to fully fill out the notebook
Wasn't the Master System the first console with a standard gamepad, even if it lacked a start button on it?
I unlocked everything in this game except Red Yoshi. At the time that I unlokced everything, I was only 20% of the way to the goal. Ridiculous doesn't even beging to describe it. That was even AFTER playing 300 Remix 10 courses to get Daisy. What killed the game for me was the seeming bug that you could actually lose Toads from Toad Rally. The better you did, the more you lost. If they fixed that one thing, I'd probably go back and get Red Yoshi. But losing 300 Toads by being 2 seconds behind the ghost player is a real buzzkill.
“And even if something sells well, that’s not an indication of it being good quality”
Cough* Pokémon Sword and Shield Cough*
I'm surprised Mario Run is still playable, since they shut down Dr Mario World after only 2 years
Mario Run: The one you can play on the toilet
14:15 technically when u mod the game u can play it offline, i also was very disappointed when i saw that u couldn’t play it offline normally but it’s still a very great game and i definitely was hyped :D!!
I played this game alot on my dads ipad when i was younger. Good memories.
Super princess peach is filled with obscure mario enemies
I had hours of enjoyment playing this game when it came out. They made perfect use of a touch screen to make an engaging and challenging game.
Anyone know what game that is @2:57 ?
I don't know how it compares to Mario Kart Tour, but I've watched Animal Crossing Pocket Camp fall more and more into microtransactions since its release. They now are at the level of multistage subscription services for in-game perks... it's just sad
what is your thoughts on mario party 8 it is come cossidered a bad game but a good game by some
Yeah. I sure enjoyed it. The boards were completely different from one another. Althought, there are way too many duel minigames.
Did you ever unlock Peach? You didn’t mention that she is playable too or show any footage of her.
The Toshiba attract the crowd responding toad colors to the rally by a bit
Nintendo can easily update the game add new levels, characters etc...they simply choose not too they stole everyone’s $10 n resumed focus towards odyssey😂
Now Mario 3D Land NEEDS to be ur next video🙏🏽
This! I just wish Super Mario Run had way more content than it offers. Even Dr Mario World updated to have a ton more content before it shut down.
With how DeNA handled MKTour, im happy SMRun got no additional content, because DeNA would have screwed it up.
@@gamingnubs7628 So you rather have an empty have that rarely updates and barely adds anything? I got back to playing this game last year for a bit after 5+ years and the only stuff I've seen added in SMRun was whatever those statues were for Peach's Kingdom that celebrated Mario's 35th anniversary.
It’s good, little pricey for the full version but it’s not as bad as tour
ALSO IM STILL SAYING THAT SUPER MARIO RUN IS NOT APART OF THE NEW SUPER SERIES, it’s Just a Mario game on mobile
I am now playing the game just because of Remix 10
Mario Run was never supposed to be a full fledged game. It’s entire point was to get you interested in the main 2D titles and more. That’s it.
Then why is it SO GOOD?
To sell you on the main games.
Does anyone know the name to the background song at 6:34?
Super Mario land theme
@@jeeb4998 Thank you so much!
Love this game, love that I paid for it once and I got access to the offered content. No gotchya mechanics, no pay to win crap, nothing like that. It's Mario, on your phone, with a simple control method and it's great!
6:56 LMFAO I love this part so much!
This is a great Mario game for young kids who cannot handle the controls for a traditional Mario game.
Game & Watch was first with the d-pad not famicom
I wholeheartedly agree that remix 10's music is a bop
And honestly I find the starman theme is best in any mario game by far, maybe tied with the one from origami king
they could easily try and add a non auto run that supports like some switch controls. there needs to be a bluetooth switch controls
I never saw the problem with new super Mario bros U.
I got to the point when they wanted me to pay. I cussed at it a few times and deleted the game. Fucc that crap
I never minded that it has s price tag. I never bothered with this game due to the constant need to be online. When this game was released I was on the train pretty much every day. Perfect for playing such a game... or not, because like 80-90% of the route had no service.
It's really fun to play. Plus you can collect My Nintendo platinum coins in order to exchange them for prices.
I actually managed to unlock Daisy without paying the game and it was tedious as fuck, I did it in like 5+ months because of the F2P cooldown. But it was worth it for Daisy
What about Dance Dance Revolution Mario Mix?
Great content, keep it up!
This game is a lot of fun to play, however i cannot justify the 10$ price tag considering how incredibly short the main game mode is. Even if you collect all the hidden coins and unlock the extra pipes, the game still feels like it's missing something and leaves me wanting for more content.
I'm 100% certain the game would have made more profit if the Greetendo dropped the price at 5$
It's 5 dollars now!
I’m sorry but I’m not paying 10$ for a runner mobile game that can’t be played offline and doesn’t have an endless mode or something like that
Nice vid as always, Demeech
I think Super Mario Run was like an experimental first release of Nintendo game in mobiles phones. Later It will be more like the famous japanese mobile game's system: gacha and paid-gems system, like Mario Kart Tour. The paid content from Super Mario Run was similar to the DLC of New Super Mario Bros 2. Maybe it is hard to pay for something that is somehow recycled...?
Daisy is able to be won by f2p players, which is also why tickets are a thing. I suppose it will make you understand why they are more tedious than the rest now!
