Great work getting the straps set up in advance.👍
Chest height deep and an average 4wd turns into a boat and isn't going anywhere. Doesn't take a huge amount of effort to pull it out when it's boat, but time is of the essence. Don't want to be waiting around while it sinks.
Hand held radios and having a director of operations might've helped in getting out a bit bit quicker.

Good to see how the crossing came together for the various crews.
This adventure is definitely on my bucket list.
Thanks for putting this video up

We were on the track late November 2017 had not scene any one on the track for 3 days, after a stop over at the swimming holes, got stuck at Nolans just after lunch in my Perentie 6x6, walked out to the road next morning just before getting to the end of the track 2 toyotas 79 series came along heading south on there way to Weipa and snatched us out, just a small part of a very interesting trip to the cape and back, great video as it brought many happy thoughts

Watched this with interest. Will be going through there in three weeks with some friends on way to the Top End!
Looks like the Snorkel will be getting a workout on my 76 series. Should be interesting! Cheers.

Yes you really shouldn’t do it if your alone. Lots of cars have drowned. Electrics stuffed after water gets in

Nice footage....what date at Nolan's was it? We got back from the Cape a couple of weeks ago and went through Nolan's on Friday 28th. Just interested to see if it was earlier. looks about the same depth though.

That was on 2nd of June. So the water depth would have been the same. Made it a beautiful spot for swimming tho - crystal clear and warm with a sandy bottom

Yes we did it on the 19th of May and had a few more inches. Was a very wet April so good job by all. Just an honour to be up there at all. Great vid guys, thank you.

should reverse the tow car further in use one strap and have the tow car keep strap tensioned,
also ive never needed to be towed through, can easily be driven, also had to tow many cars out

These cars are entering too slowly, you want to keep a bow wave for as long as you can when doing deeper water crossings

why does everyone do 2 straps,,, should set both cars up closer with a single strap,, less issues with people running over straps.. simply keep tension on the strap the water thats knee deep is usualy fairly hard unless you spin your wheels and creek pulls are more about steady tension rather then the jerking snatch style recovery

Floated my pajero through the middle of route 3, then everyone else hugged the left of route three and had zero dramas.
