GS has given us what we want. Thinner movement, with PR on the back. One day they'll do a better clasp and then we'll have nothing left to complain about!
You guys are the best in watch editorials!I love this new dial , I would love to buy it, but I already bought 2 9Fs the SBN009 and the SBGV243 in the past year so I ran out of budget.Cheers from Canada!
Lake Suwa & the White Birch still have their own distinctive charm. While the Atera Blue sports a different and yet bolder colour, I guess it ultimately dwells to what kind of colour dial / texture you are looking. All 3 of them are fantastic
Very nice but reminds me a tad bit too much of the Aston Martin colour - I went with the Genbi Valley instead. In a year or so, I will probably still purchase this one for 60% of the retail price in Tokyo, used like new, which is what I've been doing for the last 5 GS that I bought, it just saves you so much money.
Best GS dial ever. But I don’t want it unless it’s in (Brilliant) steel and with Hi Beat movement. The bracelet should be better finished, more tapered and with quick adjust. Then it would be perfect.
Love the dial, hate the flat bezel, hate the taperless bracelet, hate that there’s no micro adjust. GS needs to listen to what customers want, bc people are staying away just bc of these reasons.
The color of the bracelet doesn't even seem to match the watch head. Maybe that's just a trick of the light, but i find it noticeable. Agreed about having SOME polish on that non- tapered terrible cuff as well. What a shame. That dial is killer.
Hope they replicate the over engineered dial to the bracelet. Such a shame that GS not listening to enthusiasts by not providing micro adjustment on the bracelet at this price point
Been wearing this for 8 days. Deviation is less than a second Evo 9 case form with slimmer flatter case and a well balanced bracelet is the most comfortable one I have experienced- in all of my 6 GS watches. Titanium is light / scratch resistant - now green birch in steel or even the Seiko tuna SBBN049 feels like wearing thick steel gangster bracelets. Kudos on the 22mm lug width - the watch is such superbly balanced on the wrist - the watch head never wants to slip towards back even if the bracelet is a bit loose. The darker dial makes the time telling that much more convenient when those shimmering hands shine against a darker background.. it’s beautiful to admire. Notice the 12 marker plays rainbow colours for EVO9 cases under bright light due those fine ridges on it.. just AMAZING! This is a winner .. a home run from the brand … and it’s fantastic it’s not limited - people should be readily able to buy this wonderful piece of art - that’s how this is supposed to be rather than playing silly games with the snobbish ADs.
Hahaha I was saying it is often the case that the dial is what grabs people with Grand Seiko. But certainly the Zaratsu framing the dial is not too shabby haha - Z
It's a gorgeous dial, great finishing on a beautiful and bulletproof movement, and titanium trousers. I think the sticker price is entirely reasonable.
Always disappointing to see a watch like this without a running movement. Detracts from the presentation but I understand that’s on GS. Otherwise I can only fantasise about owning one, and that’s possibly not healthy! Spectacular dial.
The bracket need to have polish and brushed finishes……AND……(insert broken record)……a micro adjustments clasp. For some reason this isn’t a bug in GS’s thinking….It’s a feature. Why they continue not to listen to their loyal base is beyond me. I know…I know….Akio Naito says it’s coming…..but…..here we are still waiting.
I miss the days when Grand Seiko was the "value" luxury watch nobody knew about. Now their prices have doubled in the last few years. $10k for a basic date Spring Drive watch doesn't interest me any longer. Even with an interesting dial...
When they redesign the bracelet and the hour hand and maybe I’ll consider the Evolution 9 collection. But for the price, I don’t think GS has enough brand power or recognition to justify the asking price for me. They should position themselves in the same price bracket as Tudor, but not Rolex.
I have been rocking a snowflake for over a week and I don't think Tudor has anything in their catalogue that compares to the craftsmanship and quality of a GS. A snowflake is a similar price to a blackbay and you get more hand crafted/hand finished parts, titanium case + bracelet and a movement that is more interesting and accurate than anything Tudor makes.
@@tartantulakid666 Unfortunately specs and finishing are not everything when it comes to luxury watches. For the price of a Rolex, IWC, JLC, Omega or Glaschutte Original, the GS brand name only has credit within the enthusiasts circle. When spending this much money, I would not buy anything with Seiko in the name regardless of finishing or quality. If they used the Credor brand, and substantially differentiated their designs from Seiko watches, then I will consider it if they redesign the bracelet, the hour hand, and use Steel. I hate titanium watches. This is why I will probably never buy a GS watch over 5000USD. I live in Tokyo, so I’ve tried GS entire collection multiple times, but still buy Rolex, Omega, Tudor and IWC.
I guess you haven’t tried this watch and other Evo9 bracelets. They are great quality and very comfortable. You can’t compare these bracelets to the cheaper models.
@@deuxani I owned a spring drive Grand Seiko, and it was ok to wear in the winter. Spring and especially Summer was unbearable. Ended up selling it. Waiting for a better bracelet. The head of the watch is amazing though.

What a beautiful dial. Brought back memories of summer days on a beach in Florida with my kids
Highly recommend other watch enthusiasts to see this piece. The dial is so absolutely mesmerizing!
Agreed 🤝 - Z

I’ve recently become a GS fan. The dials and case finishing are amazing!

It looks good in the video, but oh boy, this one is breathtaking in metal.
Thank you for not forgetting us Aussies 👍🙂
This has to be the most underrated brand. I love my two and wear them often over my lovely Omega No Time
GS is an amazing watchmaker! 🔥 Don't have a spring drive, so far, have hi beat GMT sbgj249- best watch in my set at the moment!
Not a GS geek here, but that dial is STUNNING.

Watching high quality GS videos but a San Martin is in my cart right now 😂😂😂
Still in love with shosho.
Beautiful dial. Having tried on a silver birch, I wish the bracelet had more taper however. Suspect this would look amazing on a leather strap.
I would love to see GS make a proper fitted rubber strap for Evo 9 💪
Most of my watches end up getting either a rubber or leather strap, small wrists & get tired of the watch moving around.

I agree with mixed finishing on 5 link bracelets. This one looks like a three link.
As for the dial - Lake Suwa for me
Absolutely love Grand Seiko
Absolutely loathe you can see the spring bar in the bracelet gap on a watch for this price
And the money flows…
My wallet to Grand Seiko…
A symbolic watch…
haha well done!

I'm a stickler for a good bracelet and truly prefer one that tapers.
Lux n simple

imagine this on a skin diver GS, it would be perfect!
Beautiful watch, but the bracelet.. why won't GS produce a nice bracelet?!
these bracelets do taper, it's just a mild taper...
true but the lugs are already abnormally wide so that makes it even worse.
@@kaarthuisplus Abnormally wide is a bit of a stretch, the proportions are no different than a 38mm w/20mm lugs
20mm lug width and a better typering bracelet and GS will double their market shares for a 7-10K range sports watch in a day!
The dial looks nothing like the river in the Atera valley. I‘d say that SLGH021‘s dial is more reminiscent of it.
10 grand without micro adjustment is nuts

I personally like that the bracelet is fully brushed.
Really handsome
This watch is so hot...
As long as they are keeping the old bracelet and clasp design, GS won't be on my radar no matter the dial and the inspiration behind it.
I take it this version handled was not a working model as the second hand never moved ?
I’m fine with seiko bracelet es but damn at 10 k it feels like it dosent even match the class of the case/dial
I wish they would taper the bracelet
Personally, the bracelet and clasp, with on the fly micro adjustment, I wouldn't touch this brand.

Rolex drag everyone’s prices upwards
They might be beautifully finished and polished. But I somehow find them to be boring 😕
The price is lunacy. Other than the stunning dial, the rest of the product is like something from the 90s.
I would not call the price lunacy considering the level of finishing, movement technology, and dial work 🤷♂️-Z
yeah nice watch. 5 day spring drive, amazing. 22mm wide bracelet that doesn't taper w/o micro adjustments, never buying it.
And still no quick adjust. Get with the project GS. My wallet is waiting.

They seriously need to work on their bracelets, they need to be tapered down more & have glide lock adjustment clasp.
Probably will if they read these comments..
