Funny you say that I live in north Florida not far from the beach and at least several early mornings during the winter I actually have to scrape ice off of my windshield 😲
I can sum up what this man said in just a few words. Florida is overrated and I have no idea why people keep moving there. I don't even think it's a great place to go on vacation. I lived there when I was a child and had no choice, however, now as an adult I would not move there nor will I go there on vacation. As far as I am concerned Florida does not exist to me anymore. And if you liked Disney go to the original Disneyland in Anaheim, California. If you go there in July it'll be beautiful, the high temperature will be around 80 and there will be a nice breeze. You will not have to deal with high humidity, insects etc. However, in Orlando it will be so hot you'll return home with a rash all over your body, insect bites, its miserable. Go to Anaheim, forget Orlando.
Lmao. It’s because everyone is from somewhere else with different ways of driving. You know anyone who honks at you BEFORE the light is green is from New York.
I’ve lived in Florida, NewJersey, Virginia, North Carolina and Colorado. Always found people who were kind, quirky, fun and different. Everyone has a bad day and can’t help spreading it around sometimes. You can make the difference. I remember the nightly lightening storms when I was in Ormond Beach. Loved it. Be kind to each other. We all need and want the same things. Peace.
As a lifelong resident, I would appreciate all of the negative publicity you can come up with. Tell them all to stay home.We have enough people here already.
I moved here ten yrs ago after I retired from nursing. I luv it here. I have good neighbors. I learned how to deal with the love bugs and palmetto bugs. I even like the lizards and geckos. Lol
Its hot and humid asf. Its terrible. Its to the point that going outside is always going to be a bad experience, unless its to go swimming or to the beach.
@@jameshovey8301 The big reason they can avoid taxing their residents into the Stone Age is because of tourism... which is because of its natural beauty and climate. And that is why most long term residents are typically rather nice, so it’s more inviting to tourists. But I understand the frustrations some have due to tourism, that’s a lot of different personalities, attitudes, and good and bad habits being brought next door year round. But the idea of not having another government entity taking $200 a week out of one’s check is also a nice incentive and I’m sure it accounts for some of the less civically responsible individuals.
I love Florida! I shoveled snow for more than 50 years, never again! If you don’t like Florida move back to where you came from, they need you more than we do.
I live in Akron, OH now, but I used to live in Wheeling,WV. I haven't shoveled snow for 20+ years, though I've slipped and fell on ice a couple of times. (no injuries...so far) 😂
If want to turn everything into a golf course don't move here. If you want to treat the locals like we are your personal servents don't move here. If you want to displace every snake, gopher tortoise or alligator from your property don't move here. If you want to drive like a jerk and though garbage out the window of your car don't move here. Stay where your at please.
I used to be a flight attendant. I can tell that the attitudes you're referring to are probably coming from travelers/tourists. They had a sense of entitlement as well.
👍 I don't encounter much rudeness or bad service here in Central Florida. But then again, most tourists don't leave the tourist strip or the beach so I don't encounter them often 😎 Where you really encounter the rudeness from locals is on the roads. And a FloGrown sticker is pretty much a road rage warning sign.
The united states is experiencing a bad case of class culture identity. Many who travel feel they are above those working in service sector jobs and feel that treating people badly is how they affirm their weak self image. perhaps they only pretend to be capable while on vacation. Maybe the whole of the northeast population who work in a professional capacity is constantly ready to lawyer up the instant something doesn't go their way. That was in part my observation in the later part of my working life. People stopped being friendly if they thought it would ruin their chances of winning a law suit for a slip and fall while on vacation.
Florida has the most beautiful clouds, the blue color of the sky with birds flying all the time is breath taken, I dance and stretch every morning right next to the waves and I am really thankful to breath the morning Florida air every day, thank G-od I live in Florida.
I agree the sky in Florida is breathtakingly beautiful. I first saw it when I visited a friend in Seaside years ago. I was blown away by the expansiveness and beauty. And the sand there is white and powdery soft, incredible. I live in Southern California where the sand is ugly and coarse the skies are boring and the ocean freezing with cold winds blowing in most of the year. My elderly Dad and wife live in southeastern FL having moved from northern Massachusetts and I've visited only in the winter. The ocean water was divine, I was in love with the warm healing waters but realized that the sun was a problem for me personally, way too hot. Also my few encounters when I was running errands was very surprising. I encountered many rude, openly aggressive men and unfriendly people of both sexes. Many I realized were from up north, NY or NJ and felt so saddened by that. What a way to ruin what could be a wonderful place to live. I felt so aggressed by these people having been acquainted with these types growing up in the NY and Boston areas. It just felt wrong for that sort of energy to be so far south in this tropical environment. Humans have such great potential and yet we are so excellent at ruining what deserves to be preserved and enhanced by our lower nature.
I've been in Florida since 1970 when I was 16, and I'm nearly 67 now. The biggest thing that ticks me off is drivers who never go when the light turns green because the smartphone must be worshipped at all times.

The rest is slums, terrible roads, massive noise pollution, no architectural diversity - just boxes to live (brutalist style), drug users all over. I don't know why people consider it gloomy weather. Lightning is natures fireworks and the rain is both cooling and relaxing. The only downside is driving in it.

No one can appreciate the hot humidity until they really experience it. It is just like being in a hot steam sauna for months. It just drains the life out of you.
I remember vacationing in Daytona beach- it was August, and I will never forget the month because it was so hot that I said to myself that it might be cooler on the beach. As I walked down to the beach, instead of it being breezy, it got hotter. Sweat was coming off me in streams. What made it worst was there was no wind. I love florida, but only for a visit, nd that being in March.
@@adrianavram4911 , I did in December of 1999. It was breezy with a little bite in the breeze. As an artist I even drew the sand dunes, and the " micro dunes" no higher than 3/16" covering a wide range. Indeed I remember those cold days- not freezing, but cold nonetheless. Just forgot it this occasion. Thanks for the memory.
I found most of those problems in Texas (Dallas-Fort Worth) to some extent. In the summer, Dallas alternates between being like Arizona and being like Florida. The wet heat is worse. Good thing about Dallas: no alligators. Rattlers seem to avoid human hooves and dogs' fangs, as I have discovered.
I was raised in The South, but moved to Upstate New Yuck after a marriage failed. Former Navy and retired Law Enforcement. I miss the South and despise snow. Turning 58 in August and want to celebrate it in a boat, fishing. I bet I can jot down many more things wrong with New Yuck than could ever be negatively said about Florida. And the “… New Yorker under each arm” joke is funnier than Andrew Cuomo’s nipple rings 🤣

Well 1,500 people move into Florida (net of those leaving either in a car or a casket) and they are going to keep coming no matter what gets posted on UA-cam. Though housing has risen so far so fast that many could get discouraged. I had a buddy in Oregon that moved to Florida about 6 months after I did, but his daughter was bitten by a snake and 6 months ago they moved to Colorado.
Florida native family here and we have traveled all over USA and parts of Europe - LOVE our Florida! Love the wildlife, the beautiful rainbows after the rain, the big cities and small towns and the PEOPLE from all over the world!
I used to live in South Florida. I lived in Delray Beach for 12 years. The Hoa's, drivers, the nasty old people, low wage jobs, high auto insurance premiums suck.

Florida is OK but I just can’t stand so many people and traffic, and not a huge fan of intense heat , so hey to each their own , we all have our preferences, but I am more than happy to stay north, I love all the four seasons including winter. We’re all lucky we get to choose that’s the big thing.

I was born in Miami, but live in a suburb outside of Seattle. I can tell you that service here is WAY worse, people drive faster and even more aggressive, and people are less friendly. I know it’s been a while sense this video has been posted, as a Floridian, we have at bare minimum 100,000 gators for every problem here. And like 1000 more for every hurricane
When the temperature🌡rises the tempers rise. The heat and humidity make people very uncomfortable and you will get pissed off easy and get very impatient. We moved out of South Florida over 20 years ago because it had gotten so crowded. We moved to North Central Florida, and man..the changes that have occurred here in the last 20 years is amazing. They are building houses as fast as they can build them to accommodate the Northern transplants. We still have family and friends in SW Florida and SE Florida, I can only afford to visit off season. One additional negative is unless you make a six figure income don't move to south Florida especially Miami. Florida is basically a service economy for tourists and visitors. Service workers don't get paid that much and finding something affordable to rent is nearly impossible in the Miami area.

Don't get me started on miami. Some of the rudest, dumbest people you will ever meet. I've been there 2 times. About 6 months each. Didn't hear the words 'thank you' after buying something 1 time
I'm born and raised in Cape Coral, and I recently moved up north to Wisconsin. Yes, a big change, but I don't regret it at all. This video is pretty accurate, but the huge increase of the population in the past couple decades has made it not nearly as enjoyable to live there. It's overly crowded, real estate is taking up all the beautiful land, and it's the reason why it's called home of the newly wed and the nearly dead.
Dale, what made you choose WI? Are you happy there? I am in Lauderdale and have been for most of life. Parents drug the family here as kids and I always hated it! Heat/humidity 50 weeks a year, traffic has tripled in the last decade and the neighborhoods just don't stay consistent as to safety. I am searching for a good state to move to.
@@Gypsygirl9 well, growing up in a tourism state has limited my options of what career I would like to choose so I have found better job opportunities out of state. Cost of living is abnormally high for what you get in Florida, and after spending 25 years in Florida, I wanted to do the next half century somewhere else, and I made it happen. I just so happened to pick the most complete opposite state compared to Florida. Haha But, where I was working in Florida, I saw major increase in people from up north moving down, and the residents of Florida moving up north. It's really just change of scenery. I suggest doing research and traveling more and also creating life-lines with people who live wherever you choose to move too.
@@Gypsygirl9 One of the biggest disgraces is a place called the villages 54,186 homes built on some of the cleanest water below the aquifer in Fl. I did a spreadsheet on the impact it had on the ecosystem and unfortunately I no longer have it but some of the things was based on a 2 member household that between flushing the toilet, cooking. bathing and laundry plus misc uses was around 80 gallons daily that figure also considered the summer winter population That doesn't sound so bad until you multiply it by 54,186 X 80=4 mil 334 thousand 880 gallons per day. They don't call it little New York for nothing.
Lived in FL. 38 yrs. Then moved just across the border into Ga. Still have the tropical weather but not as brutal. Much less rain and hurricanes are not a problem.. Little to no traffic. People are super friendly and very little crime. Best move I've ever made!! Oh yes, as of 12/10/22 gas in FL. Is $3.40 a gallon and $2.75 in Ga.
Good idea, i was thinking to buy an apartment in Florida to escape winter time, your idea is interesting, which city have a good beaches and affordable real estate prices?
Love it in Florida! Those 4 months of heat I just do more indoors or I’m at the pool…..the rest of the time I’m living the gorgeous fun outdoor life Florida has to offer. Every state has their problems weather wise….just different maybe.
I guess it depends on your tolerance to heat; when I lived there it started in April and didn’t quit til late October or November, much longer than 4 months.

@@tuckertherussianblue9603 It all depends on your situation. I wanted to get away from the city so I moved to the burbs. I transferred with my job so I had money flow immediately. I lived in the projects in the Bronx so I didn't have any money from real estate & I didn't have to worry about selling a house. Tampa is very different than NYC. It's cleaner for one thing. The roads are better. Public trans sucks badly. You need a car. It's nice in the winter, but the summer takes some getting used to especially if you like the outdoors. Feel free to ask me anything else.
How one can find heat depressing just boggles the mind. Animals which are unique to certain climates are naturally adapted. Humans are not. Humans are literally designed to live in tropical climates. Nothing is less depressing than relaxing rain and going out in your boxers early in the morning to have a coffee/tea while looking at the sub-tropic nature. THAT is literally the meaning of bliss.
You obviously aren't heat-sensitive and have never suffered from heat prostration, as I have. It's the reason I moved away from St Louis. I love Miami, which is a gorgeous city with great people, but I couldn't make it through the summers there. I find it easier to stay warm in Chicago's winters than get cool in southern summers.
Having lived in Missouri my entire life we have all the seasons in one day. Snow, rain, sunshine, hail. It changes from 60 degrees and sunny on a Monday to snow and minus 30 on a Tuesday. 😄☀️❄️⛈🍁
They should tip well, then if they go back to the same place they will be remembered as a good tipper. It's the same as everywhere, servers have given good service only to receive no tip or a bad tip, they get tired and weary of that really fast.

I’ve lived in places so hot, you don’t need a flame under the iron skillet to cook. Sure, it may be hot in Florida and you can just put a couple more layers of clothing on in the north. But in Florida you don’t have a communist Dick named Cuomo as your Governor 🤨
That's a load of bull. I grew up in Michigan and I was always freezing in the fall and winter. I could put on 10 layers and still be cold. Not to mention that in the winter you have to get up an hour earlier bc you have to have time to get the ice off your windshield and the mountain of snow off your car. No thank you! It's NEVER been too hot for me here. I remember the cold and snow and never want to experience it again!

This is all so true- moved here 5 yrs ago after 40+ years mostly in upstate NY. Tell my friends don’t move here because you think the weather will be nice. It’s just the opposite of NY - hide inside in the summer to avoid heat/ humidity instead of hide inside in the winter in NY from the cold/ snow

I live in Florida. If you want to live where it's not so cold, move out west where the heat is dry. The humidity here is so horrible that I don't leave my air conditioned home for most of the summer. Hurricanes and tropical storms are also a constant threat. Oh...and the cockroaches here (called "palmetto bugs") can be the size of small birds...and they fly, too! It's nearly impossible to keep them out of your house, no matter how clean your house may be.

Agreed … the people are so nice 🥺
I was born in Miami, but live in a suburb outside of Seattle. I can tell you that service here is WAY worse, people drive faster and even more aggressive, and people are less friendly. Look up, “Seattle freeze.” The Florida locals are awesome, they value freedom and not perpetual lockdowns, and they know how to enjoy life.
We see the same thing in Texas. Transplants are the worse. They bring their rudeness from up north. Our saying here is do not California our Texas.
@@valeriereeves9373 I hate to bring up 1st grade geography to you, but California is out west, not up north. But anytime I want to travel towards the coast, I'm bombarded with "transplants"!🤣🤣 all the weirdos (rich or poor or somewhere in the middle) from every state flock to California or New York.
It’s like that everywhere because we’re human. It’s our nature to feel we know best and not want to be part of a new place but change it to be like our old place.
I’ve enjoyed Florida every visit! The traffic is different from what I’m used to here in Illinois but I don’t mind needing to drive a little faster to fit in. And being able to u-turn without getting in trouble is a nice change.

@@niktadiba7135 The beaches in the panhandle are about 2 hours away. You could move to the east coast like Savannah, but that's expensive.

@@knk9657 I live in North NJ and its the SAME thing. I HATE heat and humidity. It is legit both from late April to late Oct.
It's about 9 months of heat. Two months of not-quite-heat, 3 weeks of perfect weather, and about a week of frost or hard freezes.
Where in Florida did you only have four months of heat? We only allow 3 cold months a year down here and with global warming you're luck to get that.
@@knk9657 yes, make that 7 Months of Ridiculous Heat and Humidity! From May until November! Count it! No breaks from the humidity. No thanks!
After living in Florida for 31 years, I would never ever.... ever want to live and work in the Bronx, N.Y. again... ever!! One of the best moves I made in my lifetime so far is moving to Florida! It has changed a lot though in recent years.
Exactly
I’m actually moving down to Tampa in a few months from the Bronx, NY. Any advice on what to expect that might be a shock coming from NY? Thanks! 🙏🏻😃
@@tuckertherussianblue9603 Tampa is nice Lots to do like go to beach, night clubs , restaurants , good fishing or boating . The only thing i don't like about Tampa is they have parking meters everywhere . It's hard to find free parking in downtown Tampa.
@@tuckertherussianblue9603 If you're a liberal, get ready to become a Conservative. Otherwise, stay in the Bronx.
I am originally from Texas and moving to Florida is the BEST thing I ever did
Well of course. Anything's better than Texas
I like padre island.
You ain't right
Dude, the best thing about Texas is being from there, but Florida? Holy shit.
@@chicagonorthcoast sorry to hear about your heat sensitivity. Sounds like a loss for Florida.
Best wishes
Having lived in Missouri my entire life we have all the seasons in one day. Snow, rain, sunshine, hail. It changes from 60 degrees and sunny on a Monday to snow and minus 30 on a Tuesday. 😄☀️❄️⛈🍁
I'm not a senior, but they get no respect in FL. Service stinks mainly because pay is low and companies take advantage of employees.
They should tip well, then if they go back to the same place they will be remembered as a good tipper. It's the same as everywhere, servers have given good service only to receive no tip or a bad tip, they get tired and weary of that really fast.
Probably part of it is the retired here. Leaving tips like 36 cents per plate.
Every place has pluses and minuses. It just depends on which ones matter the most to you.
Well said
Spirals ???
I agree.
In addition, what some people hate, others like. Some people love hot humid weather while others hate it. Some people like year 'round warmth while others like a greater change of seasons. Some like to snow ski, others never want to see snow at all.
Wow that suddenly clarified everything, brilliant
I love Florida I am a Floridian. The beautiful Sunshine State of Englewd .Friendly people around .Not much complaining for me . No more complainIng about the cold /freezing /snow/ice here . Quiet and small town this is what I love . Less traffic than the north where I used to lived.
Hu Daneen how are you?
It may get cold in the north, but you can always put another layer on . It's hotter than hell in the south, and you can only take so much off.
You get it 💯
I’ve lived in places so hot, you don’t need a flame under the iron skillet to cook. Sure, it may be hot in Florida and you can just put a couple more layers of clothing on in the north. But in Florida you don’t have a communist Dick named Cuomo as your Governor 🤨
@@NobodyOwesYouAnythin Emperor Cuomo certainly is an ass, but it doesn’t stop me from wanting to move back to Buffalo.
@@donnalynn2 people are either hot weather lovers or cold weather lovers. Live where it best suits you, if you can. I grew up in Buffalo but have been in Florida for 26 years. I’m ready to move back north since I have never liked heat and humidity, and that’s exactly what Florida is like, especially June through October. Also miss having a real four seasons.
Precisely. So do you want to hold up in AC or furnace heat for 6 months? I prefer furnace heat and my wood burning fireplace.
Or you could just open your windows.... LOL Florida isn’t hot. You just never adapted because you stayed inside and never was in the sun enough to adapt. That’s why I like my tent, MacBook, and phone. I just stay with friends and my tent time to time even on the beach. Like Florida is not hot st paul island is hot.
I've heard Tampa isn't so bad.
@@MH-be6hr Tampa is amazing 😍
@@trendingverge what part of Florida are you referring to? I would love to be there. I live in south Florida and it is hot I work outside. I have experienced heat exhaustion. The heat is no joke.
Just say you hate that people from failing states are moving to Florida 😂, it's okay I feel the same way. 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Yeah, I was wondering if he came up with those 10 negs about FL just to try to lessen the amount of people going there. I mean people are fleeing to FL like crazy. Floridians are getting worried that they will run out of space cause there are too many people there.
@Madame Molar Isaak is correct
@Gold Tau good. Then you can stay the hell out
@Boss619Tycoon that's why its called God's waiting room.
I wouldn’t mind moving to Montana either but those brutal winters though and they got Grizzly Bears. I’ve heard it can get lonely in Montana too. I’ve read people move to Montana to get away from people.
That’s bullshit!! Never had one in my home, ever!! Fear mongering isn’t working here! All my relatives are moving to Florida! I am encouraging all of my northern friends to sell their expensive homes and move to Florida!!!
I grew up in Chicago area and have been in FL fifty years, this video is greatly exaggerated and the living here is easy by comparison to a 6 month freezing climate. duh
You don't have to shovel sunshine.
I'm a PA native, now living in north Florida, which is more like living in south GA. No serious complaints. 😎
Minnesotan here.....its NOT frozen for 6 months and our state is not the sinkhole capitol of the world....yes over 6000 sinkhole episodes per year in Florida. Alligators, deadly snakes, spiders, fire ants, ect ect dont exsist here. We do have one thing in common, HUMIDITY. I will give you that one.
Amen brother
Hush now you will have everyone wanting to move here
I’ve been all over Florida countless times and I love it! Been about 30 times and plan to move to Lee County, Cape Coral sometime this year. I agree with you fully on your list but I’ve got to say that I’m all for moving to Florida myself!
I’ve lived and travelled all over Florida for the past 40 years … my favorite area is around Tampa … most of the issues mentioned are really minimized in Tampa. Good video!
My only child moved to Florida about 3 years ago. I can't wait until I'm free to follow her.
Keep in mind it depends where in florida you live... florida is relatively the size of the common state but the difference between anyone that lives from lake Okeechobee and up is different from those that live from lake Okeechobee and down...
