I’ve been a realtor outside New York City for 25 years and your channel is very informative. The don’t wait is very true. I work with older clients all the time and there’s a window of opportunity where the move is not as overwhelming. I feel like sometimes people wait too long and the entire process is just incredibly overwhelming and stressful. I have also seen older people really guilted by children who want them to stay in their old big house even though it’s hard for them and they want out. I have learned a lot over the years and timing and having boundaries with family is important!
We live in the Village of Marsh Bend and have a west facing lanai. We love it. The evening sunsets are amazing! In order to protect our indoor furniture and flooring from the sun we had solar film put on our windows which reduced the heat from the sun. Also we installed shades on our lanai for when the heat is really intense. That made a big difference too. Enjoyed your video.
I am a part time villager since 2022. I have a west facing lanai. In warm months it is HOT, but fine before noon. Cannot wait to be there full time !!!!!
Lived in the villages now for over two years. LOVE IT HERE. We use our golf cart for golfing, going to the dog park, going to water volleyball and to the town centers. We are frogs (full timers).
We moved here recently and decided to rent for 1 year before we buy. Lifestyle was not enough time for us to decide; so we're here and you're UA-cam is spot on. Have a great day.
We built a designer home in Dabney, and we had two priorities for the lot. 1) north/south facing lot 2) wanted a view. Some of our west facing neighbors are already enclosing their lanais. Thanks for your positive videos.
I have a west facing lanai. It's not that bad. My lanai is pretty large for a cottage home, so a lot of it closer to the house is still covered and shaded. It's pretty hot to set out there before sunset but it's really nice after the sun goes down.
Really looking forward to more discussion on contractors you went with. We are interested in the villages, but are a bit concerned about lawn care being done after closing and we are not moving there for a few months. It will be nice to hear more about you process of deciding on contractors.
Lived here for 1 1/2 years. Had a Nova 3x water filtration system, new washer and dryer and garage floor epoxy done prior to moving in. The epoxy really smells for about a week and so it's best to do it before you move in. My lanai faces east and I love the morning sun there. I have a veranda home, which is a designer home that is fenced in. I did watch neighbors put in a lot of improvements to get an idea of what I wanted to do. There were 4 inch gutters on my house, but the first Florida rain I knew I needed the 6 inch ones. And to have them reconfigured. In the first year I did the landscaping and had my driveway painted. Truthfully, you could spend a fortune and you have to think about whether you would get your money back if you were to move. I'm taking it more slowly now really thinking about what I want to do next. I bought the fancy golf cart that is electric and though I have no regrets, I don't use it as often as many of my neighbors do. Love living here and have the best neighbors!
I love your videos as they’re so helpful. If my husband and I ever move to TV, we’ll be ready and more informed. So happy to hear of another Peter Santenello fan, he’s is truly a gem here on YT.
Interesting perspective 🤔 Yes, the budget thing is a concern. And your suggestion of not doing everything at once is a good one. It took us several months to settle in … furnish and decorate. Went to a lot of estate sales, consignments stores, Home Goods, Hobby Lobby, road trips, etc. But it was also fun to do. But we did get a water filtration system (immediate noticeable improvement in our water), and had gutters installed (surprised the house didn’t come with gutters). 🤷🏼♂️ Lastly, we have a west-facing lanai, and we like it. Yes, it gets HOT late afternoon when the sunlight is lower than the roof (maybe an hour or two). We will probably get a pull-down shade installed; but the “Golden hour” (as I call it) right at sunset, is worth it, … and mornings with a cup of coffee are Heavenly. Lastly, yes, we should have moved to the Villages sooner. I’ve been retired over ten years now … oh well. No regrets. But glad we’re here. p.s. Just had our one-year warranty inspection. Nothing major, they fixed everything. These homes are high quality … well made. 👍🏻 to the Villages
Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us and everyone here in the comments. Great info for everyone to consider. FYI… We are testing out another golf cart this weekend and will probably be driving back and forth on the multi-modal path behind your house a lot. Wave if you see us! Thanks!
You got a South Carolina hat on! Love it. We love it here. Bought in 2021 and just moved down. My sister has been in The Villages for 20 years so that was our motivation. I have a western lanai and actually that sunset is a m a z i n g. We are on a pond.
Love the video. We’ve been here for four months,We moved from California. We love it here. Yes we heard about the rumors that go’s around. But I don’t think they are true. Love you guys. Peggy and Gary Jones from the villages of DaLuna.
Another great video. I’m just a few months behind you. Not living in The Villages for full-time yet. Looking forward to your six month show and your recommendation show.
Not in The Villages but in Texas. My last apartment had windows on only one side and it faced west. Mornings were fine, but evenings were brutal. I bought some blackout curtains for my bedroom and would close them in the morning and open them before I went to sleep. The blackout curtains did keep the bedroom cooler than the living room,, so I bought curtains for that room, as well. Western facing living room windows are also difficult because the sun would come beaming through in the summers just as I was sitting down to watch TV. Even through the shades, it would get me. I can't say enough good things about both blackout curtains, and, more importantly, avoiding western facing windows in rooms you spend the most time in.
Great video!! The youtube video that you referenced was the same one my wife and I watched that got us interested in moving here. The non-west facing lanai was one of the most important requirements of purchasing our home here. We hope to see you out and about one of these days...
Us too! I sort of wrote off TV until I saw Peter's video, which definitely seemed to be a more balanced view. And I love his videos - guy puts out some great content!
My front patio faces due west. I had it screened in and have coffee there in the morning. I have a wrap around lanai in the back with a section facing east and a section facing north. I enjoy those in the evening. In the winter i enjoy all three.
I loved your video about the DON'TS of living in the villages. Could you possibly let me know where you got the beautiful painting behind you? I absolutely love it 😍
I'm a The Villages dreamer! We are planning a lifestyle visit next year. Family health issues prevent us from leaving. I ❤ your decorating ideas, especially the picture behid you. It screams FLORIDA! It's beautiful. Thank you for your videos, I've been watching you since your RV days and am so happy you're back with a new channel.
Awesomeness! Thank you so much for being part of our journey all the way back to our full time RV days. Glad you found our new channel. Best wishes with your family health issues. Hope you get to do a lifestyle visit next year (or sooner). Keep us posted. Thanks!
You guys are doing a great job! I think I know what would take your videos to the next level. For example you mentioned the neighbor that's doing a total reno and doesn't mind sharing with everyone. Why not ask him if you could do a video tour? I'd bet your viewers would love to see that, it's a great way to get ideas from others and fun to see. I know I would enjoy that! Or how about instead of just telling us things you could show and tell. Like the example of your lanai and bank of windows. You could have filmed during the time of day when the sun is hitting the west to show how much sun you actually get on the lanai or inside. Anyways, just food for thought. Hope it helps make your channel an even bigger success. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for this info 👍! I think a loofa video would be very funny and entertaining! Some of our friends “warned” us about them lol but I have to say, we didn’t see any loofas while we were there. 😂
My wife and I just finished watching the video - loved it! Anytime I get a notification for one of your videos, she insists that I put it up on the TV so we can watch together LOL!! We're going all-in on your last point - ie not waiting until we are much older to give it a shot. We're in our early 50's, and I was pleasantly surprised to see others that were roughly our age during our lifestyle visit. And nobody else seemed to be bothered by it - definitely didn't feel out of place or anything! I guess time will tell - looking forward to experiencing mre of it ourselves once we close next week 🙂
Y’all are so awesome! Glad you are getting the notifications and watching when they pop up. FYI… We are going to do a whole video about the last point. There are a lot of us Gen Xers already living in and moving to TV. Good luck! Have fun! Enjoy the closing day experience! Make sure you email us a picture or quick video so we can give you a shoutout in an upcoming WUW video. 👍😃
Well what do you know! We have a west facing lanai and our kitchen, living room and dining room windows face south. Now, bought pre-owned, so it came with an electric retractable awning. So that keeps the sun from baking in the dining room too much in the afternoon. The living room has vertical blinds, as does the dining room slider. The lanai has a tinted window on the south wall. It's a courtyard villa so the block and stucco wall does pricier a bit of protection. They'd also a little shade from the oak and palm trees on Buena Vista on the other side of our wall. Haven't been there in the summer yet.
Another great video. Love the picture you were standing in front of. By the way, that video you watched about the Villages is the same one that got us interested 😁
Thanks for the video! The rumors are silly! Peter did I good video on TV. We would love to live there but we have parents that are stopping us. Ugg hopefully we can be there within 10 years. We're in our late 50's. Thanks again for the video.
@@MichaelTiffanyTVE we did one last year at Atwood Bungalows by Brownwood we requested a pond view and it was fantastic courtyard villa just want we like. We are renting in Mallory again this year. Can't wait 40 more days.
Do you like the quality of your patio villa? I am doing my second lifestyle stay this summer and wonder about the quality of new construction. I would love to meet in person to chat when I visit! Thank you for your fun and informative videos!! God bless and wish you many years of continued happiness!!
You guys do a great job with your videos. We are coming down at the end of May for a week. This will be our 3rd visit to the Villages. We would love to move there but leaving family is our biggest drawback. We have 7 grandchildren 😃
Hello! We are hoping to retire in the next year or two. We spent 1 day there & are coming down at Thanksgiving and staying at a rental home. We are making a list of questions and figuring out what we need most. You have been very helpful (budget, taxes, Townes squares, etc) and are hoping to have the opportunity to meet with you and get your opinion. Thank you for doing an awesome job with these informative videos.
Awesome information when looking for a wonderful retirement community..thank you for sharing🎉❤from a Indiana girl living on the Virginia Tennessee line
I stayed at the Waterfront Inn in Sumter Village visiting just before Xmas 2021. I thought it was fun as a visiter. Music every night at the town square, great restaurants and bars for hanging out at night. I think its a plus to live in a place like this as you get older because there's stuff to do every day so as not to become isolated. The only thing i can't get past is there is no big mall close by nor anyplace interesting to shop, not near the ocean, the surrounding area is kind of old (i was up by Kohls). Granted i didn't do a lot of travel but i just felt kind of claustrophobic. I currently live in CT about a mile from the shore.
Just subscribed to your channel. We have clients that move to The Villages and I love to hear their experiences. I love that I now have a great resource to direct them to! You guys are awesome. I am just starting my UA-cam channel, and maybe one day we can meet for drinks and collaborate on some content! My fiance has lived in Ocala his whole life and is also an agent, so he has had his UA-cam a lot longer than I have, but I am focused more on lifestyle pieces in the Villages and all parts of Central FL. We can't wait to watch your next one. Great job guys! The Villages are Awesome and it's so wonderful to see you both enjoying your exerience and sharing with others!! Blessings from Dawn Sellers & Mike Harris! ;-)
Hello can you please make a video about the bond and if it can be rolled into your mortgage and also how can you enroll into different activities and if you were to move to the villages now what part of the villages would you have moved to and why . Thank you.getting to move there yeepy 🙌🏽
Your videos are so much fun! Honestly, I can't think of anything negative about The Villages. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, did a ton of fun stuff and can't wait to move there. So I would say that my top "don't" would be your #5: "Don't wait!"
i noticed you both have said you are still working. What jobs do you do and when you get retired, will you be making videos full time? Thanks for the great content
I really appreciate your response to recommending services/contractors BUT I HAVE to ask where Tiffany has her nails done!?!? Girl - it’s hard to leave your peeps behind and got to know the Villages can provide!! Thanks!
I can’t believe you don’t have a golf cart yet, like most 8t was my first purchase, I moved here on July 1st, 2022. I haven’t pulled my car out of garage in 18 months, if it’s not golf cart accessible I don’t go. Good luck in buying your golf cart. I have a Club Car electric I will pay it off and get a gas cart it only gets 50 miles to a charge, I need the gas cart f9r the 250 to tank of gas.
Hey Guys!!! I have missed y’all, wondering where you were. I started watching you when you were backing out of your driveway leaving Charlotte NC, and thru the early years of COVID. For some reason I haven’t been getting notified about your videos!?! One of my favorite pics is of Tiffany sitting looking out over the water when you were in St. George Island in Fl. I am so surprised to see you have settled in The Villages. I have dreamed of living there before we retired from Chesapeake VA. We did move to Florida in 2021, but we’re in a more rural area on the Gulf in Gulf Breeze FL. (About 45min to an hour west of Destin). Not too far from Alabama, 30 min south of Pensacola. Well, congrats on your landing in The Villages!! And hopefully I can catch up on all your previous videos! I really have been wondering what happened to y’all. Did you sell your motorhome? It was really nice, but I imagine you’re enjoying the spaciousness of a house again. God Bless you both and I’ll be watching!!❤️
@@MichaelTiffanyTVE We live in Haley villa in DeLuna village. We bought a home that was a year old. We did have the 20 % to put down on a new home but we love this home . We love the Emerald floor plan. This Emerald had a lot of upgrades. We closed on our home on January 8 2024 . And we love are village. We got here for the first time on December 24 2023. Never been here. We saw all the video footage from your life style visit and also all the videos from Jerry and Linda the newcomer. So we sold our home in California and drive to the village. We put an offer on this Home before we left California only saw pictures online, but we fell in love with home on line. Once we got here. We saw this home and love it even more. Hope sometime we will see you guys around.
Another great video! My current house- the back faces due west. My bedroom gets blasted in the afternoon! That is #1 on my list to avoid! It is almost MAY! Then it will be JUNE!

Awesomeness! Congratulations and glad you are having a great experience here at TV!
Some folks like the western facing lanais on their homes if they are only here in the colder months. The sunsets are a definate plus
Yes! Some homes have spectacular sunset views. The western lanai keeps you cozy in the winter. Shades for the summer helps.
Definitely some beautiful sunsets here at TV. Thanks!
Nicely done ! House is for sale up here in Michigan. Once sold we are Villages bound.

Lived here for 1 1/2 years. Had a Nova 3x water filtration system, new washer and dryer and garage floor epoxy done prior to moving in. The epoxy really smells for about a week and so it's best to do it before you move in. My lanai faces east and I love the morning sun there. Thanks guys!! Tomorrow we finally are writing up the contract to sell my commercial property! We should be closing on it by June 15th 🤞
Awesomeness! Congratulations and Best of Luck! Keep us posted. Thanks!
@@MichaelTiffanyTVE- how are closing costs handled for new construction buyers?
Negotiable or not?
😮
Hi guys you look fantastic! And thank you for all the information on the villages
you guys are great! Love your channel!
Love your energy.
Do you have any videos showing the other 55 communities in FL you visited?
Blessings from Dawn Sellers & Mike Harris! ;-)
Thanks so much! Glad you are enjoying our videos. Good luck with your channel! Stay in touch!
If you have a west facing lanai but have a treed area behind your property it is very pleasant in the backyard and windows.
Great video you two! Thank you!
Our pleasure! Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks!
I’ve been living in TV for almost 4 years and have seen plenty of loofahs and different colors as well.
Thank you so much! Glad you are enjoying the videos and so glad you had a great visit to TV!
i noticed you both
have said you are still working. What jobs do you do and when you get retired, will you be making videos full time? Thanks for the great content

We bought a gas in Ohio because it was way way cheaper. Got a 2020 yamaha quiet tec for 5k.
Great video! And I love the new picture.
Thanks so much! Us too!
I really appreciate your response to recommending services/contractors BUT I HAVE to ask where Tiffany has her nails done!?!? Girl - it’s hard to leave your peeps behind and got to know the Villages can provide!! Thanks!
Absolutely! Working on something to share in the future. Stay tuned! Thanks!
Hi guys new to your channel I love your video with plenty of suggestions I was wondering what is your opinion on renting before you buy?
Thanks
Thank you for sharing your experience. I can’t wait to get there.
Absolutely! Thanks!
Another good video!!!! Please do the Loofah video 👍😆
You got it! Thanks! 👍😂
I bought in Dabney hiw far is it to the Future Eastport?
I appreciate your feed back. Thanks!
Less than 10 minutes by car. Approximately 20 minutes by golf cart.
Yes!!!! loofah video 😂
Is your home Emerald . We bought an Emerald in DuLuna.Peggy Jones
Awesomeness! Yes, we bought an Emerald. Great floor plan!
I’m dreaming of living in The Villages ❤❤
Awesomeness! Thanks!
Another great video! My current house- the back faces due west. My bedroom gets blasted in the afternoon! That is #1 on my list to avoid!
It is almost MAY! Then it will be JUNE!
Thanks! This year is flying by fast! June will be here before you know it!
So you have a winter vacation home and a summer vacation home. The American dream. Good for you.
👍😃
We haven’t bought a golf cart yet. We going to wait. Because we want a close up golf cart with air conditioning. . So we going to wait. Peggy Jones.
Definitely take your time and test them all out before you buy one. We test drove a couple of those last weekend. Thanks!
Please do a loofah hunt. 😂
🎉🎉🎉
👍😃
The hosp. in the Villages has poor ratings.
