I bought the 15" laptop 4 last year. It was my first departure from Dell. I have to say I am very happy with this laptop. Keys are firm and not too noisy, speakers, screen and performance are very good and it looks great. It really looks more like a Mac, but I just like Windows much better. I upgraded from Windows 10 to 11 and its rock solid. No issues at all. Highlty recommend this laptop. I personally find 13" laptops too small especially if your watching videos on UA-cam. This is not a gamming PC but looking at the specs, I think it is obvious. My use for my laptop is email, internet, watching videos, and Word for the most part. The one thing you mentioned in the review on the wish list is a higher 1080 video camera. I have not used the video camera yet but if I was to use Teams or Zoom, for work related, the higher
@Al Emran I got that exact one and I hear that it can just heavy fan and not super fast but still can be used just nothing super crazy i think. He even got the intel i7 with the 16GB and he had an issue with editing this video as seen in the video so. If that's the main thing you want in you computer I suggest maybe going with Mac book pro as the M1 is more suitable for editing and has no fan.
I have it for over 1 year now and I totally regret buying it. It has only 2 USB ports. It doesn't support SD cards and the internal storage only has 256gb. The touchscreen is basically useless, most times I even forget it's there. It heats up a lot when charging. And of course, it's quite overpriced (almost $1k when I bought it). DON'T buy this thing. There's way better and cheaper options out there.
Still have my very first Surface Laptop (2017) and besides the battery depleting fast, it works great and has served me everyday for 7-8 hours per day.

Yeah I wish the Surface Laptop was a convertible that could fold into a tablet, with optional discrete graphics. Don't know why Microsoft doesn't make it that way, considering all of their other lineups are 2-in-1 hybrid PCs. I was most surprised that speakers, while not great like MacBooks, were actually usable, unlike so many other windows laptops. Great review 👍👍
Can’t go wrong with these laptops if you need something to do light work and on the go. Have had my Surface Laptop 2 for over 3 years and it still runs speedy and just fine. For simple UA-cam, emails, and random browsing on the web as well as Microsoft Word, gets the job done. I use iPhone, but cannot get used to MacBooks, so I stick to windows laptop wise. Will look into upgrading to the Surface Laptop 5!
- There are 4 colours not a couple - Latest XPS design is 16:10 just like Macbooks - Trackpad is glass - Webcam is 720p like pretty much any other laptop in the market. The only one I remember having 1080p is the Surface Book, but it's not just a laptop, same with Surface pro which also has amazing webcam, but it's a 2in1. Just saying this as it sounds to me like you say this as if it's a Surface Laptop 4 issue and not a industry wide issue, which is what it is - Almost the same with ports. MBA and MBP13 M1 have 2x USB-C and jack 3.5mm, one of those USB-C will be occupaded when charging. In the Surface laptop you can charge via the Surface Connect port and still have 1x USB-C and 1x USB-A ports, plus the headphone jack of course, so better than some and worse than other ultrabooks. I agree with you that an USB-C instead of Surface Connect port would have been better, despite how cool the magnetic charge is - You talked about the battery but I think you were just guessing....well, I'm sure you were guessing This is more of a first impression rather than review, or "Full Review" like is said in the title. But I guess this is not your problem but a industry wide problem where most youtubers just rush with inaccurate information just to get more views without really testing the devices.

Don t really know why but mine has always had less battery endurance than most testers claimed, 7-8h is realistic on a charge though. I ve had XPS laptops since 2013 and whilst they re also really good, I like the Surface better. The touchscreen is surprisingly useful with Win11 and it actually pains me it doesn t have 180 degree hinges to make more use of that feature. I don t do heavy duty stuff with it coz I got proper PCs everywhere I go for the heavy lifting so my use case is the one of a typical sub-notebook. EDIT: whilst I absolutely love the alcantara surface inside, you better be careful with it coz every tiny bit of crumbs or whatever can be seen and you don t wanna blemish the nice look. Screen format makes the small screen more useful/appear bigger and it s more portable. Best thing for me personally is the typing feel and that it s so thin on the palmrest side. The hard edges on the palmrest of my gf s Macbook Pro and the fact it s thicker always disturbed me (was already less pronounced on my previous XPS compared to hers). My gf is a hardcore Macbook user since 2005 and even she agrees, in terms of looks and feel, mine is a bit nicer than her Macbook (lol yeah u ll basically never hear such a thing from someone that deep into the Apple swamp lol).

Your right about the pen, doesn't make sense for this form factor. You said there are laptops with metal keys? I thought most laptops used plastic keys.
With the 720p thing, at least in google meet, that's the highest you can go in resolution, don't know about the other services, and when people is just looking at a little square in the screen low resolutions are not noticeable at all
I feel like it's more of a work laptop for school, that's mainly what I got it for. It doesn't handle too well when I'm trying to edit videos and play video games.
There are other reviews and from what I can tell, the intel version is slightly better but the laptop can play most games at around 60 frames at medium settings.

Get the Surface laptop. Hardware and software is all made by Microsoft, so good optimization and plus you dont get bloatware. And plus it's the closest to Apple in aesthetics.

I love my surface laptop 3 but this doesn't mean it's best out there. I chose it just coz its beautiful and performant enough for my coding. Only regret I have is - they don't have discreet graphics even in 15inch. No idea what they do with the extra space compared to that of 13.5 😑
I saw some of the other UA-camrs and many give it bad ratings. They were more technical and specific by comparing the Intel vs. AMD and which was better for editing videos and graphics and photoshop. No thunderbolt 4. The surface laptop is just your vanilla middle-of-the-road basic laptop. Nothing fancy. No extras. Just the bare minimum.
The main issue is the price, the Intel pricing is stupidly ridiculous and the Ryzen 4000 series will be old news in the next month or two so even $999 for the base Ryzen will look expensive by then!
Why do youtube reviews always try to measure productivity /power by video editing 4k footage? Just by looking at the specs. They know this laptop is not design for that. If your work requires 4k editing in windows- you know what specs you need.

Depends on your prefered os, if you really don't mind using macos you should go with the mac, the m1 processor is still much faster than intel/amd processors, but if you are gonna use it only for more basic tasks like using ms office, browsing or editing photos, the surface is gonna be fine

Ngl this is very disappointing update. Microsoft haven't updated that design for years, still resting on their laurels. They could have done better like the screen bezel is way too thick in 2021, seems even thicker than MacBook lol. The 3:2 is cool but something that have been Surface staple for years, it's no surprise feature at this point. I used to sell MS laptops I’m wondering if the paint is still cheap AF. I got my laptop 3 less than a year ago and the paint started to chip at the 10th month. I regret selling them TBH only because of the paint issue.

no you were right. dell changed the xps to a 16:10 aspect ratio just last year, they were known to have 16:9 for the longest

And they arent cheap either. My company as well upgraded to these laptops and yes the dock is almost 300 dollars. That is ridiculous in my opinion .

The main issue is the price, the Intel pricing is stupidly ridiculous and the Ryzen 4000 series will be old news in the next month or two so even $999 for the base Ryzen will look expensive by then!

Why do youtube reviews always try to measure productivity /power by video editing 4k footage? Just by looking at the specs. They know this laptop is not design for that.
If your work requires 4k editing in windows- you know what specs you need.
Yes, weird, this is an ultrabook, not for creators, a dedicated graphics card is needed for prosumers.
For me working in marketing and have 80 % of calls internally the camera is just fine. For sales calls I believe 1080 at least would be the minimum.

Depends on your prefered os, if you really don't mind using macos you should go with the mac, the m1 processor is still much faster than intel/amd processors, but if you are gonna use it only for more basic tasks like using ms office, browsing or editing photos, the surface is gonna be fine

Besides the chin cam, I think the XPS is a great pick. My brother has been using one for a while and it still performs very well!

Ngl this is very disappointing update. Microsoft haven't updated that design for years, still resting on their laurels. They could have done better like the screen bezel is way too thick in 2021, seems even thicker than MacBook lol. You said you haven't seen super slim bezel on a laptop, well I guess you haven't seen the latest XPS yet lol. That laptops looks sleek af. The 3:2 is cool but something that have been Surface staple for years, it's no surprise feature at this point. My 2 cents
For about same price, hard to argue that MacBook Air M1 offer so much more especially in terms of performance. Not to mention better speakers, better touchpad experience, slightly better build and overall it's the better value than Microsoft. What a strange time lmao 😂

This was a very long review so I skimmed just to see the difference between this model and others and I'm not sure if you mentioned but are you able to hook up a printer to it I have a wireless HP printer and I'm not exactly sure cuz I've never had hooked it up to a laptop but if it's wireless maybe I don't even need a port I'm so confused 🤔🤪

I used to sell MS laptops I’m wondering if the paint is still cheap AF. I got my laptop 3 less than a year ago and the paint started to chip at the 10th month. I regret selling them TBH only because of the paint issue.
