    Love how you're gravitating toward a more "whole foods", plant-based diet. Just adding lots of vegetables and fruit and plant foods is so good for you. And it seems to do you good!

      Protein is just as important though

    • @holisticmaya
      @holisticmaya 6 років тому +46

      Maria :) Protein is very important, yes. There are 12 amino acids to consume every day, at a specific percentage. However, it has been scientifically proven that animal-protein is not well digested, and so we hardly absorb it as humans. Plant protein is 100% absorbed, and plants offer us minerals and nutrients that allow/enhance absorption. I am very well educated on the subject :) If you wish to learn more, I suggest reading "How not to Die" and "The China Study", as well as "The 80/10/10 Diet". So much love to you!

    I wouldn't worry about the fat content of the salmon, science and doctors are finally agreeing that fats are good for us and we should more concerned with processed and refined foods, suagr and flour being the main issues.
    The main worry with salmon would be its mercury content, but I think compared to other fish it's fairly low - still a good idea not to have it every day though just in case :p

    • @kutas6
      @kutas6 6 років тому

      this is not the 'right' kind of salmon tho, the good one isn't light orange, it's much deeper in colour (pacific salmon i think)

    Just to correct you Sammy, apparently you can’t have enough oilly fish. I agree that too much animal fats and butter it’s not good but you can eat plenty of oily fish as it’s so good for your heart which is why people take additional COD liver oil as a daily supplement. This video was so chilled🙏🏾 loved it! 🌸

    Pro tip! Add in your agave nectar to the hot espresso before adding almond milk and ice. The heat from the espresso helps melt/evenly mix in the sweetener. :)

  • @ahtahs9

    Hello there 💕 just in case you didn't know, agave nectar is as bad as the processed sugar - you can read about it

  • @joeykeen96
    @joeykeen96 6 років тому

    Hi Sam, as for sweeteners agave nectar isn't very good for you. It is low GI as it is almost completely fructose it is more damaging than it is beneficial. Something like rice malt syrup is a better option for some sweetness, maple syrup or even honey as it has some added health benefits. Hope that made sense! x

    Your cooking videos are always so tasty. You are a sweet soul. Watching you from a young girl in a room on a bed with an extreme nervous laugh... evolve into this beautiful woman. I was watching a previous vid just the other day and it was at that point that it became a revelation to me..just how much you have changed. I guess it's all relevant because I have girls and am a new grandma x 2. It amazing to see how our young girls develop into young ladies, MOMMIES so mature, yet still so delicate. I wish you continued success in whatever you venture into

    Hi Sam! love you and your videos! 1st youtuber I ever followed! Just fyi agave nectar is not any better than brown sugar or white sugar or a slice of white bread for that matter, to the body all sugar is sugar. Stevia or monk fruit sweetener is the best option if you're trying to be "better" like you said. Anyway, research about it, just a thought

    I will try the oat porridge ! It looks very consistent, healthy and easy to cook.
    The recipe with the quinoa seems really nice. ( + I often don't know how to give some taste to quinoa, so the recipe you have shown will be useful in the future)
    I wish you all the best for your fitness journey !
