As a certified arm-chair GM, I would say every non-contending team should consider blowing it up for this kid. Bedards only comes once in a blue moon :)
He strikes me as a modern Marcel Dionne - short but stout centre with great scoring, although Bedard could still grow tbh. Bedard's technique on his wrist shot is insane. I wonder if he will be traded to another team next season and what his numbers would look like surrounded with better players.
that's the one thing that sticks out most about these highlights is that his wrister is absolutely insane, like it looks faster than some slap shots, and he has surgical precision. The way he positions his body perpendicular to the goalie when he lines up for a wrister is interesting, I can't think of many other forwards who do that as much as he does. But that's the thing though, he's not just a sniper. He's got a complete offensive toolkit and amazing hands and awareness to match him. You look at the numbers he's putting up in the WHL and you compare it to the junior stats to the most recent "next one" prospects, I just can't see this kid not becoming a generational level player in the NHL.

It’s crazy because none of his shots seem that hard. He’s just able to place his shots on net so well and he can also shoot so well from anywhere even with barely any space. Great shooter

Watch this kid an look at lafreniere at that age, this kid is probably 4 times better.. an everyone was crazy for lafreniere whose a bust lmao shoulda been a 15th pick maybe on a good day but this kids going #1 no doubt
