So did you watch the video or? It literally explains that he’s been getting unlucky, he has the best expected goals/60 that has been tracked in a long time… either bad teammate shooting or just bad luck. It’s gonna come
@@nhltime4086 I've been watching the Dub for around 30 years. I've seen the best. I've seen Bedard play. IMHO Eberle was way better. He had better puck sense. Bedard is 5"9 without break away speed. I'm thinking if he gets ice at the it will be on the 4th line and/or the power play. I'm just saying it's too early to predict his future.
The reason why he isn’t scoring as much is because the second season in the WHL is the toughest for a top end player. First year in the league there isn’t huge expectations from coaches. Once the player begins to show the talent the coaches begin the grooming process for next season. Meaning grooming him for leadership and carrying the load so to speak. In year one he shows he is capable of playing with the top older players and he reaps the benefits of their experience and physical strength. Year 2 lots of those guys are gone depending on team. Now he has to generate scoring learning to expand his game more similar to an older player in league. Puck protection, winning battles for loose pucks, and then assuming leadership responsibilities on and off ice. It’s a big jump. Of course Bedard handles all this with grace but this is some insight into the topic.
Kids got a Phil the thrill level shot with near McDavid speed and some Crosby level edge work… McDavid never had the side to side ability Crosby has, and Crosby seems to have traded a some of his wrist shot potential for backhand ability… Bedard seems to be a real effective mix of the two players…
@HOCKEY HELL YA Even if Michkov has a higher ceiling, it's likely more appealing to have Bedard under your control immediately than to take a risk on a Russian already on a long deal.
@HOCKEY HELL YA It's not that easy. The buyout on the contract would be massive and the NHL teams can't buy it out, and they can't give him the money to buy it out. Without some rule changes, NHL teams can't buy out KHL contracts.
It’s gonna be interesting. If a team can get Michkov out of his Russian contract then it may be him at number 1, although Bedard is probably the safer choice and still has huge upside, even if not quite as high as Michkov’s potential, depending on what you believe.
@HOCKEY HELL YA I haven’t seen anywhere near enough of these prospects (outside of highlight reels) as it’s practically impossible to get to watch the games here in Australia, so I’m not going to question your opinions on which prospects are best at what skill.
