Curious to see what EXACTLY Changed in the ride? Here is an extremely detailed breakdown of the Pre & Post Refurb Indiana Jones Adventure ride!
ua-cam.com/video/ISpsXdl0mGw/v-deo.html
They really threw away the realism of the queue. New one has bright ass lights that don’t flicker, looks fucking dumb so brightly lit.
i think its a little sad to see the que lights replaced with modern bright white light. i think the yellow makes it feel more.... unique?
That’s what I’m saying they kinda ruined the whole vibe of the queue by changing the lights :/
yeah and the flickering added to the ambiance.
@@deadmanprops704 I was just here last night, I'm not sure what you're talking about? It seemed the same as it's always been in the queue
@@Tresquall in the video the new side has white lights in the queue when the old side has warm lights might be diff in person though
@@deadmanprops704it’s a little brighter but not that bad. I think they had to for a safety reason
Most of these fixes and enhancements are great: the effects on Mara, the snake being fixed, the new scene replacing the rats, and the Boulder! The ONE thing I wish we could get back tho is the rotating doors!! 😢😢
Agreed! That rotating door effect and mirror was the absolute best! For years it had me convinced that there were 3 separate hallways leading to Mara's statue!
Omg I totally thought I just made that feature up in my head. Because the first time I went on Indiana I was way younger. And I never saw it as an adult.
That is likely to never happen. The company that makes the parts for the rotating door went out of business many years ago and Disney went with the projection mapping instead because of costs.
The doors rotating is probably never going to happen. The reason why they don’t operate is because the doors have “settled” into the ride due to age and the only way it’ll ever work again is if they rip off the ceiling.
@@anja0106 Same here! When I got older I always thought to myself..I swear those doors moved before and it made me feel like I went in the right or left door. Such a cool effect that im always going to miss
I think the que is too bright now, I loved the dim lighting, really felt like you were going into someplace deep.
Looks good, though I think the old lighting was more atmospheric
I really like how the effects on Mara’s face are still the same, just upscaled and made brighter! And of course all the new/ fixed effects look great!
I appreciate that.
What they need to fix is the rotation mechanic that leads into different doors and the entrance props. The spikes used to come down when you touched that bamboo beam
Pretty happy with the overall update, personally my only complaint is that the lighting in the boulder sequence has too much pink, it takes away the feel of the boulder being real and it makes the strobe effect useless as the purpose of the strobe is to make it look like the boulders getting closer than it really is. Other than that it’s a solid refurbishment that was greatly needed!
2:57 - Thanks for doing that. For some of us, that was the only thing that mattered. "Did they fix it?" and apparently the answer is "no." Dang it. Oh well, thanks for filming the before/after like this. It means more to me than the other videos I've seen where I"m left to wonder what changed. Now I can see what changed and it isn't much.
Nah I pulled it post refurb and the effect worked
probably works it was just resetting, takes awhile
@@JaysTheManNow @Zas Thank you both. That's a relief. It's not a refurb unless that make that effect work.
What was it doing ?
I really hope they add fog back to the ride and possibly stop using glow pain in the main show room with the crumbling Mara head, it looks like a laser tag arena in terms of color rather than an ancient temple in ruins illuminated by a lake of fire.
The paint is a classic staple of dark rides and adds depth to flat surfaces.
Yeah that fog needs to return. It looks so empty and awkward without it.
@@KidzRuleStudios Apparently it was causing a bad case of mold, so that's why they turned it off.
I don't know what the fix for the fog effect could be though. The constant mist was evidently causing mold in the show building, so it was a hazard to Guests and Cast. Maybe a scrim effect to look like bubbling lava? 🤔🤔
@@themisfitowl2595 I agree that scrim might be the safest option.
I wonder if they can do a kind of peppers ghost fog effect?
This just makes me so happy. The new effects, the overall better lighting. The SNAKE!
The post refurb Indy is amazing and it’s what I prefer for sure
But there are STILL so many things not working correctly! Why is the timing of the laser beams and smoke explosions still not synched? Where is the fog in the lava pit. Why is the news reel still not playing? The snake also looks still like a cartoon. Wish they actually had taken an extra month to finish everything.
The snake may look cartoonish, but at least it works now.
@Alpaca Megapint I think it should last for a long time.
I personally think the snake looks cooler
Shut up at least be happy that they even bothered to do anything
@@Omega_Mart_Employee_K1Z you shut up.
Well, at least the snake and the boulder got fixed. Not much, but even the bare minimum is a win for Disney right now. 🤷♀️
Led lights are just to cold and bright
Not a Fan of the bright white LED lights. They should at least put a yellow filter to make it really seem like an old temple you’re exploring with dim lighting
If you need a side by side clearly it was barely any different lol
Cool vedio, thanks for putting this together!
They finally got the projection mapping right
Love it!! My fave ride! ❤❤❤ thanks!!
Seems like they finally got a new snake, changed up some cool animations in the dark areas toward the end and FINALLY fixed the fact that the boulder thing never fucking worked lol
As you can see Disney Executives only gave the Imagineers a refurbishment budget of $175 dollars.
And afterwards they laid all of them off.
The falling spike room in the queue still doesn't work? Sad
The spike room works, it goes down for maintenance often which is why the bamboo pole is missing from the room a lot the of times.
I just want the “county fair haunted house” painted skeletons out of there and replaced with real props. Always thought it was too cheap for that ride.
Still LOTS of things to fix
What’s the difference at all 😂plus the old snake looks better
Soooooo….the differences are where?????
We posted a breakdown of what’s changed in the Indiana Jones Adventure ride which you can check out here:
ua-cam.com/video/ISpsXdl0mGw/v-deo.html
wow... some stuff is fixed but boy did they add a lot of those projection screens they love so much. The better lighting is nice though. I think LEDs have really helped in that capacity.
Does it work now?
WOW. ITS BEAUTIFUL
I rode the original in November. Great!
So just a little dusting and light replacing is all they did? REALLY? And still haven't fixed the falling ice or the lava pit smoke.
Do the lights not flicker anymore in the queue?
You can see them flicker in the video
@@keilafleischbein59 they do not, LMG confirmed himself.
@@dochoc3915 my dude, you can see them flicker in the video
Looks exactly the same.
They should eventually replace the painted skeleton wall that shoots out air with some crazy animatronics! Would make the ride so much more epic.
6:38 very happy 😃 to see 🐍 back. 7:02-7:13 they replaced the 🐀 room.
The rat room was my last favorite..... Half the time it didn't even work lol it was a much needed upgrade
that snake looks great
man they still have to fix the fog effects in the “lava” pit
It looks lame without the fog. Lol, like a bunch of giant fake rubies
I heard someone say it was due to the fog growing mold
@@winxwest2964 If it can work in Japan, it can work here.
@@winxwest2964 ok then they should fix the fog machine down there
@@winxwest2964 That waterfall in the mouth is more likely to cause mold.
So pretty much the same thing but slightly better lighting 😂
Great job syncing the videos
I didn’t get to go on this ride when I was there… it was still down for refurbishments ☹️
I was there Friday too when they re opened Indiana Jones back up. I unfortunately didn't get on cause I waited and it broke down mid day.
The queue lights are bad but otherwise the updates are nice
Fun Fact from an Indiana Jones Cast Member:
The name of the Snake that hisses at you has such the most BADA** NAME you could ever think of! His name is Fluffy. 😊
For like 10 years it was not working. Thankfully I had the privilege of enjoying it many tunes when it worked.
Damn the made that snake into “um ackshually 🤓”
Why does the moment when you are crossing the bridge seem so anticlimactic? Even the music does not support what should be a somewhat thrilling experience as you cross this so called rickety bridge. It needs something more. There is no sense of danger at all.
The LCU (an onboard computer which controls all the sounds of the vehicle) is not functioning properly so there’s a lot of awkward pauses in audio which normally aren’t there. The ropes along the sides of the bridge that used to shake as the vehicles cross the bridge also don’t work anymore.
Snakes, You Guys Are on your own!
BUILD THIS AT DLP PLEASE DISNEY ;-;
I hope it's just the camera and not that the lighting actually changed to the more cool-tone. 😢
Unlike other comparisons on the internet, both ride throughs were shot with the exact same settings
To be honest this doesn't seem like a fix it just looks like a downgrade
I barely noticed anything new. What's the difference??? O.o
The cheap ass shitty screen of falling rubble instead of the rat projection on fog
hi
This ride always pissed me off; I NEVER looked into Mara's eyes, and I still never got any cool treasures. Unfair. I tried to sue, but the a judge refused to take any case where by anyone represented by Lionel Hutz.
Why the hell is the snake repainted. ? Looks terrible.
Just like you
I don't really love the multi-colored lighting on the new version, as it's not really reflective of how the Indiana Jones movies look.
That new GoPro vibe 😂😂
They made him nicer at the end 😭
He says something different every time, n00b
Oh yay they made the snake scarier😑thanks Disney!😂
This is Disney, right? The same Disney who set the standard for theme parks? For being a main attraction, e ticket ride, and a new movie coming out soon….this is a seriously bargain basement refurbishment! Thanks for the video, at least I don’t have to waste 300 bucks per family member to go be disappointed in real life.
I like the pre refurb better lol😀
We all agree.
I’m mad they put netting up over the “peek in” skeleton in the queue
I hate that they got rid of the “Keep Your Eye On The Globe” segment in the projection room.
@@HauntFreak13 does anyone know why they got rid of the eye on the globe?
@@CaliforniaDreamin. probably a “we need everyone to hear the safety spiel” thing
@@CaliforniaDreamin. it was removed during the pandemic so that they could move people through the queue fast but still guarantee that riders would end up seeing the safety video.
And still it is a mere shell of what it once was. Disney is such trash now in all ways
This ride barely changed from when it took a steep nose dive in the 2010’s, the last time I went was 2012 after going all the time in the late 90’s/early and mid 2000’s when Disneyland was at its best to have a pass. So many good memories and they didn’t try to nickel and dime you for everything. I remember riding this ride the week it came out in 1995 when I was 11, and it was so much better. Everything worked of course, including the step in the que and the ceiling trap and the actual rotating room effect which lasted into the 2000. Man do I not envy any kids that did not grow up in the 80’s/90’s…all I have to say is…sucks.for.you. LOL.
It’s funny too because there are so many studies showing how “sad” and “unhappy” kids are these days that I know no one born after the mid 90’s can truly say they had sustained happiness like my generation. You know having non stop fun memories throughout your entire childhood and early adult life. I have to say with all the majority of these kids being little puss-cake activists, they deserve their misery and missing out on all the awesome things from the actual 90’s and early/mid 2000’s hahah. And just think we didn’t get participation trophies we actually worked for things and grew up understanding that we didn’t know more than the people older than us. Gotta say it makes me happy knowing how miserable gen-Z woke activists are and how happy we all were in the 90’s/early 2000’s :)
They need to have the Mara projection on the scrim shoot a lightning effect as the jeep passes under, to tie it into the new section that follows, the spot that used to be the rats on a log. They also need to have something in the dark between where they first appear to when you turn the corner and are destroying the passage. When the jeep stalls, it ruins the flow pretty badly. Terrible continuity, IMO.
The lack of fog effects everywhere, is sad. Still nowhere near as good as it should be for one of Disneylands premium attractions.
First?
Nobody cares. Stop leaving these comments. Everyone dislikes them, and consequently you for posting them.
it looks so much worse :-(
Wow. Reading the comnents is so random. Its like all over the place xD
Some like it, some hate it, some don't care, some say its the minimum, others complain about specific stuff. Others say it looks the same
No wonder disney doesnt know what to do 🤣😂🤣😂
Its fan base cant even make up their mind if they love it, hate it or meh
😂🤣😂🤣
These comments are proof that people are never truly happy or satisfied with things. The experience is still great and if the most minuscule things are gonna “ruin” your experience, then just don’t go on it. It’s that simple.
