Terracotta Army Dark Ride | Indiana Jones Type Ride at Fantawild Theme Park

- Qin Dynasty Adventure is a thrilling Terracotta Warriors dark ride. It's an Indiana Jones Adventure type ride like at Disneyland.
One part of the ride almost looks similar to one of the scenes in The Mummy ride at Universal Studios Hollywood. If you spot it, let us know in the comment below.
Ride filmed June 2024 at Fantawild Dreamland Theme Park in ZhuZhou China.
This is interesting to me because the sets look great, but the animatronics look like something you'd find in a haunted house at a carnival
The theming was amazing but it moved so SLOWLY.
1:10 Here, lemme translate. He's saying "Are you insane? Get outta here! The curse, it's real! This whole place is a trap, he's after your souls!"
😂😂😂😂😂
Thank you!
Somebody get this guy a coffee.
When Disney's Indiana Jones ride and Universal's Mummy ride had a premature baby this ride is that 😂
The Mummy:Tomb of the Dragon Emperor
When you can only notice the broadest of common themes.
"Let me copy your homework - I'll change some of the answers so the teacher wont notice" 😶
That's an impressive facility, too bad it's all screens and carnival spook house dummies instead of animatronics. A little bit of articulation with the archer's arms midway through.
My thoughts exactly! For such expense to be put into an attraction, why the carnival ride style props and dummies?
SO GLAD you are fimling at Fantawild now! There are a LOT of Chinese dark rides I wish had hihg-quality POVs on youtube... excited for more to come!
It’s like Mummy’s Revenge and Indiana Jones Ride had a baby, this is that ride.
What in Temu did I just watch??
When you order Indiana Jones from Wish.
😂
What do you mean? It’s better than that stunt show
@@richj6596Not the stunt show. The real Indiana Jones Ride. Temple of the Forbidden Eye at Disneyland.
My thoughts exactly
@@richj6596stunt show is great and remains popular. I get some people don’t like it, but a lot of people do
This makes me wish for a Big Trouble in Little China dark ride!
That could be so much fun.
Too bad the theme parks don’t have areas themed to 80’s cult movies. “Krull”, “Blade Runner”, “Time Bandits”, “Ladyhawk”, “Swamp Thing”, “Highlander”, “Real Genius”, “Brazil”, “The Adventures of Buckaroo Bansai”, “Three O’Clock High”, “Adventures in Babysitting”, “Trancers”, “The Beyond”, “Airplane”, “Spaceballs”, “Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure”, and of course, “The Evil Dead”.
These rides have so much room, and use it poorly. Reminds me of the dark rides in Dubai, where the show scenes are cavernous...like huge warehouses, but they lack good storytelling. They move slowly, you can see scenes up ahead. No surprise. Just tons of money thrown around with no good payoff.
The treasure room is very much like The Mummy.
how much was that ride. it seem longer than most. the effects would hav been better if it was slightly darker i think. some of he jump scares were lost because it was so bright on parts.
It probably looked bright because the filming was done with a low light camera. That type of filming makes it look brighter than it actually is.
The size and scale were pretty impressive for a knock-off attraction. Why was it kind of legit scary with the static statues and slow-moving vehicle. 😮
I like the concept but the ride is not without its flaws. Here’s what would’ve done differently:
1. Add music to help set the mood
2. Made the environment a little darker so that the jump scares would be more hidden
3. Shorten the length of the ride, it felt like it just went on and on
4. Add some sort of special effect to give the illusion of the terra-cotta warriors coming to life
5. Increase the speed of the vehicle by a small amount to more of a thrill
But that’s just my opinion.
I agree with all of this
It's actually darker. They always film these videos way too brightly. So that's why you see so much ceiling and the screens are so bright.
In Fantawild theme park in Xiamen (opened in 2013), there was music on this ride. The ride showed in this video is located in Fantawild theme park in Zhuzhou(opened in 2016), they deleted the music in this updated version. Probably because the music they used were from 'Pirates of the Caribbean‘ series, and due to the copyright issue, they abolished the music track.
That was an interesting ride. Parts of it were very cool - I love the way it looked. I think I was expecting it to go faster at times, more like how the very end of the ride was.
I really don't like all the screens though. I am not a fan of screens on rides. Actual physical sets would be so much better. I think that King Kong ride at Universal is about the lamest ride I've ever seen.
@@somecripple4126 I can totally understand your point about the screens. They felt overused - it changes the ride experience.
@@kanealoha it absolutely does. It just makes it feel fake to me. Granted, I have only seen it through a computer screen. Being quadriplegic, I'm not able to ride the vast majority of rides and watching them on UA-cam is the only way I can experience them.
Actually there were multiple versions of this ride in different parks, and in Fantawild theme park in Xiamen (opened in 2013), there was music on this ride. The ride showed in this video is located in Fantawild theme park in Zhuzhou(opened in 2016), they deleted the music in this updated version. Probably because the music they used were from 'Pirates of the Caribbean‘ series, and due to the copyright issue, they abolished the music track.
This felt like a 10 minute ride… that’s not a compliment
When you don't have anywhere near the budget of Disney...and it shows. Projections galore all over the place, and I may be wrong, but it didn't look like the ride vehicle was moving at all like it does at Indiana Jones
Put the playback speed on 1.5 and you'll go much faster. 😂
Even playing the ride at 1.5 speed it feels slow 🙃
In terms of Indiana Jones Adventure ripoffs this one was pretty good. The ropes on the bridge actually move.
That looks pretty solid, but the lack of music feels a bit odd
An attempt was made. You can't say they didn't try though. I did like the effect of the explosion on the doorway and then having it open, it just needs to open a little faster.
Almost as many screens as a Universal ride
Or a modern Disney ride.
just needs some exciting john williams music !
A perfect recreation of the plot of the MUMMY 3.
tfw you build and Indiana Jones ride but theme it to The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor
Hey at least their snake works!! 😂
Well if you wanted a mummy tomb of the dragon emperor this would easily convert
I'm glad you rode this so we didn't have to. Taking one for the team. Thank you!
Thanks for posting, always good to look around.
Interesting ride... Yeah a mix of Indy and Mummy...
My only complaint... some scenes are too much... Too much stuff (overcharged with things) and it feel more like a mess of too many things at once. When it's more focused, the ride is super!
Definitely feels like the mummy
looks pretty cool.
This is pretty cool!
Looks like a really nice carnival ride
Is this theme park and attraction located in Xi'an? I must have missed it when I was there...And is there no staff worker to greet you at the jeep car? Also...did you show the entire queue, or just part of it? Just curious...it also looks like you had the entire ride to yourself! What amazing themeing! And it's nice and long too...they really spent a lot of money on this one. Did you also wear 3D glasses?
I think the ride system exhausted their budget. The designers and engineers seem capable otherwise. It did do something the Indiana Jones ride can't. The car backed up. Twice. I've never understood why Disney didn't think they could do this. Some blocks are slower than others, typically. If you programmed a car to back up a little, why can't the controller just play it the same way as a slow block? (as long as it didn't intrude on the previous block) Of course, I'm assuming it's the control system. The vehicles might be incapable somehow. I just know Disney spent a crap-ton of money to not go backwards in that ride.
This ride looks cool.😊
This genuinely looks like it was made in Planet Coaster.
Is this a total Nacho Platter on the Cheese Scale?
Yes.
Would I give my left pinky toe to ride it?Also yes.
Did it awaken my deep-buried exhaustion and eye-twitch after having to photograph 350 two foot replicas of the army that someone donated to the thrift-shop I worked at at the time, and made me wish Qin Shi Huang had an outbreak of afterlife jock itch?
Oooooh yes (but I did start picking up on the subtle differences between the soldiers that whatever company used for the molds, so that was pretty neat).
You know what? I don't mind they cribbed the homework. It's actually better when the culture itself gets to parody itself. Indiana Jones makes a half assed attempt to represent other mythologies. They do a mostly full assed attempt at copying Indiana Jones. 🤷🏾♀️ seems all fair to me.
Also, if this was a tad bit faster both in track layout and animatronic reactions, I think it would be a pretty good ride all told. The Terracotta army under the bridge was great.
The theming is excellent and was awesomely long, but I expected way more movement in the statues.😮
You gotta appreciate these knock off rides. This is top notch Wal Mart material. Big Lots! 😁😁😁😁
There’s alot going on here. And at least you can’t say no theming.
No way that's a little different to Indian Jones at Disneyland Resort in California how amazing
3:38 this is an awesome ride.
very good video
I never got to see Indy… I think I was expecting him to appear as he does in the ride at Disneyland
The theme park place is pretty cool
amazing ride, wish i could understand the language
Doesn’t have the same excitement as Indiana Jones at Disneyland.
I don’t think it was that bad. I think it just needed better framing of their projections. So many rectangles 😳 they needed be better blended with the other elements in each area
The worst thing here is the refresh rate on that first screen. Outside of that, it seems solid
Soooo many screens. What a wasted opportunity.
google search said there is alot of fantawild theme park in various city in china. So what city is this ride for in China? or does all the Fantawild Theme park in china have this ride?
It's at Fantawild Dreamland in ZhuZhou.
They're the best you tuber ever always go and.Go to a museum par
Too many screens, not enough robots
He got that.
Epilepsy warning @4:25-@4:40
Like this to the top guys, real important to avoid seizures
I watched on TV and my eyes hurt😅😅
Pretty cool, really. Obviously “borrowed” technology but nice theming. Wish I could understand the story.
its cool
So what is the meaning of this ride? Why do the Terra Cota Warriors come to life and try to attack you? Is there a translation video available so we can know what they are saying?
The attacking warriors were just statue it would be cool if they are aminitronics
No one on the ride except for ONE person. Maybe this ride just isn’t popular any longer?
I have no idea what this is about lol, but it's pretty cool. The entrance sure was grand.
Is this theme park at China? If so, I would like to go there! 😁😁
Bro you got to China Disneyland
This is the mummy ride from Temu
a lot of screens :o
Missing a few intellectual secrets there.
This ride has a lot to be desired …the finale and the final scene with the dragon was lame the ride seems unfinished
The Indiana Jones ride is very scary at Disneyland.
Yikes! If only the ride lived up to the Que… it reminds me a of a carnival ride. And those screens…. Say what you will about Disney but there’s a reason so many others copy their rides.
Suddenly I feel like playing SEGA Golden Gun
Similar plot?
the car is not bumpy enough
No theme music?
In Fantawild theme park in Xiamen (opened in 2013), there was music on this ride. The ride showed in this video is located in Fantawild theme park in Zhuzhou(opened in 2016), they deleted the music in this updated version. Probably because the music they used were from 'Pirates of the Caribbean‘ series, and due to the copyright issue, they abolished the music track.
Nothing like indy!!
Wasn’t there a third Mummy movie that had the Chinese stuff?
I try to ignore that it exists, but yes. Tomb of the Dragon Emperor
It is a great old-fashioned fanta dark ride. The ride is faster that I thought, and it's experience is out of expection.I think you can try some new-fashioned Fanta ride like magic gallary, that's absolutely AMAING!
I couldn't understand the background dialogue.
Well, that was a thing.
Seams a little week, more like a canival ride.
Revenge Of The Mummy if it was The Mummy: Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor and not a rollercoaster so objectively worse XD
That sounds about right going by box office on how its looked at from the previous 2 films
This ride sounded cool, but wow, they really botched the speed and animatronics/screens.
flash warning maybe 4:29
No soul, no immersion, too long for a ride, pretty on outside but empty inside 😅
❤🎉
The ride was fairly cool. I really don't like all the screens though. I am not a fan of screens on rides. Actual physical sets would be so much better. I think that King Kong ride at Universal is about the lamest ride I've ever seen.
Well that's 6 minutes I'll never get back. I think I'm gonna go to Disneyland in a week just to ride Indiana Jones now
It’s funny when thin s start popping out and you have no idea what any one is saying
I've never seen such wasted potential on a scale like this. The designers were so eager to rip off Disney and Universal they forgot to think about what really sets those parks apart, pacing and story. It's a bummer to see these massive show scenes where the focus is drawn to the square projections on the wall. The best scene had those swinging pendulums and they should've had more stuff like that instead of ideas involving those terrible 2D screens. The ride was so long, they could've cut the weaker elements and put more effort into nailing what was really working.
What the?
So you CAN use Planet Coaster to design real rides. :)
Good gawd that ride was unnecessarily long and boring!
