That “hold you” part made me chuckled because my 3 year old son always say “Dada, I wanna hold you!” So one day I told him to say it correctly, and he goes ok…then he goes to his mom and says “Mama, I wanna hold Dada!” And we both laughed at it. I know I’m slowly getting him out of saying that, but what makes me take my time is because I actually love it, and I know that I’m going to miss that; it’s adorable and makes me wish he could say it forever (if he stayed a toddler forever of course lol). You just never know what you would miss and how much of an effect it has on you from their toddler/big kid years until they don’t do/say it anymore.
That transition of Yosemite to it being a wallpaper on a TV was actually genius haha. Great work Eric! You’re destined for greater things so it’s important to hold onto these moments and cherish them as much as you can!
Bro, I’m sitting here teary eyed on my lunch break being reminded how time is fleeting and kids never stop growing and they’re just a week/month/year away growing out of that certain thing they say or do. Thank you for this simple yet tender reminder.
This is incredible Eric. As a fellow husband, father, and wedding filmmaker, I relate so hard to that battle between "doing cool stuff" vs appreciating the joy in watching my daughter grow up and being there for her. Great work as always 🤘
Parenthood is the most challenging, tiring, sacraficial YET most rewarding, fulfilling, thing i've experienced. Days with constant tantrums can feel endless but quickly forgotten with a simple hug and hearing them say 'daddy' You doing good Eric! I relate
Wow, it's so cool to see a dad movie with emotional depth, nuance and honesty. What a change compared to 35 mm still slides, pulled out every few years for family to look back to the past. I'm proud of my family group photos done occasionally, but this is on a completely different plane.
So much passion in to the video content. You are lucky that you have rest of the family enjoying to help you reproduce such a video. Many times it happen that we make them to bored or tired when we are shooting.
Gosh man this one gave me chills. This is beautiful and I totally didn't see that last line coming. I see what you did there. This is the important stuff.
🔥🔥 as always! I definitely read the title as “content, like social media content” I think that made the comparison between family life and making the next big thing for social media even more apparent. Loved it!
This really made me tear up! I was only looking for a review of the camera but this is the sweetest thing I have accidentally stumbled upon in so long.
Everything about this piece was superb. Most people aren't critics but they know what they like and this emotive piece really pulled on the heart strings. Lovely narration throughout 👏
I love how every video makes me comment something and like the video because your videos are probably the only ones i TRULY enjoy and look forward to. Note that I never leave comments and likes on the videos. Keep up the good work Eric, we, as a community love you and you inspire every one of us. May all luck and good moments be with you :)
Dude this just centered me back to my desire for short film. I started my channel seeking to document my growth in Christ and finding my biological dad. Being a run and gun amateur film guy 1) this camera is going on my wish list 2) I’m gonna use what I got till I get there. Thanks for posting this brother God bless you and your family. Tebow kind of popularized Phillipians 4:13. Based on this film, I encourage you to read verse 11-13. The context matters and you hit it on the head
Love this Daddy Flo. Being Content is such an important aspect of being a creative. Heck, it’s an important aspect of being a human. Thanks for the honesty and vulnerability in this 🥲
Man, i just really wanted to leave a comment to make sure the youtube alghorithm recommends this fantastic short to more people because it deserves way more attention.
Regardless of what camera this was shot on, this is an amazing short film! Just beautiful. It's definitely the one that inspired and spoke to me the most out of all your films (Which are all great btw). For the technical side of things: the camera wasn't distracting! Beautiful frames, and they all supported the story so well. I'll rewatch this now because it's so good. ok bye
you romanticize having a family so incredibly well. also lovely we’ll rounded piece. also also the dynamic range in that shot with the outside window and the indoor warm light was wonderful.
Wow. Such a raw, personal, and intimate look at life and contentment. beautifully written, voiced, shot, and edited. I just discovered your channel and I'm so grateful I did. I've been struggling with my own filmmaking in all sorts of ways (mainly wondering how to make what I want to make, as well as the question of what it even is that I want to make) but this and the "how to make filmmaking your career" video are showing me a good place to start again.
If you want to use it for long form stuff, definitely rigging it with an external battery source will be necessary. My buddy does it with an Anker brick battery, and it's such a sick little setup.
Great video! I'm curious why you opted to shoot 8K raw vs the 4K XFAVC 10bit considering both improved file size and improved dynamic range with the XFAVC?
wow this is dope man looks like this can be on Netflix the quality is insane one question i have for you, you said 8k with the clog 2 profile thats not in camera right you decoded in clog 2 on your editing software?
Great little film! Thank you for posting content like this 😀 Just curious from a transparency perspective - did Canon loan you the camera (short or long term) or let you keep it?
I started out watching the content, the dynamic range, trying to guess what lenses you used for each shot. But then a quarter of the way in the story took over and all the other stuff fell away and I was left with more. As it should be.
every.single.feel. 😭
Man, as a father of 3 little girls and a full-time videographer, this punched me in the gut. Great job!
That “hold you” part made me chuckled because my 3 year old son always say “Dada, I wanna hold you!” So one day I told him to say it correctly, and he goes ok…then he goes to his mom and says “Mama, I wanna hold Dada!” And we both laughed at it. I keep coming back to this, man. I love it so much and it's always a sobering reminder of what's important.

Glad you caught it. :)
@@EricFloberg Seriously brilliant play on words. Goes to show how the reading of words have shifted because of social media.
Ohhh this, I’m so in love with this because it has such honesty and truth.
This really made me tear up! I was only looking for a review of the camera but this is the sweetest thing I have accidentally stumbled upon in so long.
Love it. Nothing is better in my life than being a father and husband. I have everything I want within the walls of my home.
Everything about this piece was superb. Most people aren't critics but they know what they like and this emotive piece really pulled on the heart strings. Lovely narration throughout 👏
you da man Eric
Too kind!

This is so wildly encouraging. Thanks so much!!
Dude, I love this. Content -> content, great play on words, and as a dad - I resonated HARD with this. Thanks
The secret to contentment is gratitude, superb video mate and a powerful reminder.
So goooood! Yes! 100%
definition of good story always wins!!!

Man, i just really wanted to leave a comment to make sure the youtube alghorithm recommends this fantastic short to more people because it deserves way more attention.
"Thirteen less 'hold yous' -- until he doesn't say it anymore." What a powerful line!
We just got an R5C for our studio and it has been absolutely incredible so far

Wow. Such a raw, personal, and intimate look at life and contentment. beautifully written, voiced, shot, and edited. I just discovered your channel and I'm so grateful I did. As a father and creator myself, this was beautiful. Well done!
So beautiful, thanks for sharing. That egg/burner shot reminded me of a shot in a Danny Gevirtz video
Beautiful imagery. This is a great pitch for the R5C as well.
That was beautiful. Thank you
Touching short and informative overview! Thank you for this, as a Dad to be soon, it’s a beautiful portrait of life with children 🙏♥️
Wow, beautiful message! And a genius switch from content to content ❤
Thank you!!
Loved this, the last shot- did you slow that footage down at all?
The R5 C has C log 2?! I can't find that option anywhere on mine 😔
The RAW is Log 2!
Beautiful Eric. ♥👌
Well done! Great short film.
Dude. My son also says "hold you" to be picked up. This one hit home. Great job, as always!
Beautiful story, Eric
amazing short film
Beauty in the mundane things😌I love it
Would LOVE a review on the canon r5c. Not talking about specs but real world use and if battery life is an issue for the camera. Loved the video!
If you want to use it for long form stuff, definitely rigging it with an external battery source will be necessary. My buddy does it with an Anker brick battery, and it's such a sick little setup.
Bravo buddy. So so relatable. Well done.
Great project! Love it
Great play on words
Great video! I'm curious why you opted to shoot 8K raw vs the 4K XFAVC 10bit considering both improved file size and improved dynamic range with the XFAVC?
Beautiful brother. Love the full circle moment here! Focusing on the real beauty of the everyday life right here.
