Thanks for interviewing Synthstrom! I’m super excited to see a device with the complexity of the Deluge go open source.
Cheers Paul! Glad to hear that and same - although I’m not a Deluge user it’s super interesting to follow this project
This is definitely news of the year! Waiting for the new crazy synths and effects on the board.
@@MyReasonToPlay yeah! Let’s see what they will come up with :)
The Deluge going open source made it to the front page of hackernews, so I'd bet that had a big impact on their follower count over there. Seriously cool that they are doing this.
Wow that is awesome to hear! Very happy for Ian and the team. I’m wishing them all the best and hope that the project will be a success. 💚
Ian is such a great guy...
He absolutely is! The conversation with him was really nice and insightful
Hey Miles! Wirklich schön dass du uns in die Superbooth mitgenommen hast. Hoffentlich treffen wir uns nächstes Jahr dort! 🙌
Danke dir Adil! Und ja, das würde mich mega freuen 💚
Man, these events are so cool.
They definitely are! Likeminded nerds all around you that all contribute towards an open and really unique vibe which was awesome. 💚
Got around to seeing this video. Thanks for sharing.
I really like the way Synthstrom goes about with their business. Last update for me was the hardware upgrade (the display) of Deluge and now I can't wait to fork the system.
Synthstrom ❤
Hey tubeMonger, yeah they are really a cool company. I don’t own the Deluge but the way how they work and continue working on this device and now take the risk going open source is something I truly appreciate and respect. Also Ian was just really lovely to talk to, on and off camera. Looking forward to seeing how this project will go and wishing them lots of success! 💚
Mutable Instruments proved that OpenSource is the way to go ... (as long as those building on it give the right and appropriate attribution)
Didn’t know that, thanks for sharing! And you are right, it needs to be properly executed
Eric had some really cool stands for his elektron boxes :)
He had! I was talking to him also how he folds them to fit in the bag which is very cool. Might need sth like that too :)
Props to Synthstrom to go open source. I wish more companies did that, but most are more interested in selling new devices and end up abandoning products as soon as they hit the market.
Very true. If the project goes well, I hope it has some kind of encouragement to at least smaller companies to try something similar. Don’t think the bigger brands will go that path for the reasons you mentioned. Especially in the currently quite challenging business environment
Mega Einblicke, danke Miles 😍
Immer gerne ♥️
Surco has also YT channel with pretty interesting content
He definitely has and he is an awesome guy. Happy to have spent so much time with him on Superbooth 💚
Actually the elektron sequencer is based on a tracker just wrapped a bit differently.
Interesting, didn’t know that! Thanks for sharing Alexander, maybe I need to take a closer look at the concept
i like how many people are calling it "Ableton" where in fact "Ableton" is name of company and app is called "Live" .. it's like calling Cubase "Steinberg" or Reason "Propellerhead" :)))) Live is probably most incorrectly called app in nistory :-)))) (make no mistake, i called it "Ableton" for years too until i came to realisation it is astually named "Live" :))
Sure, but “live” is a word whose context will be easily misunderstood in conversation. Also, according to Wiki, the official name is “Ableton Live”.
Yeah Live is right but I just always call it Ableton although knowing that it’s the company name and also owning their product Push 2 too. But I hope it still gets clear :)
@@MilesKvndra yes totally clear.. i just found it funny that's why i mentioned it .. also I when i do ot pay attention still call it sometimes ableton 🤣
man the interview was really crappy soundwise - gives me anxiety
Hmm you think so? I was actually quite happy how it came out considering the immense noise all around us at that time
@@MilesKvndra The interview sounds great ❤
@@vinylarchaeologist thank you! Very relieving to hear 💚
@@MilesKvndra yeah that surrounding sound was awful - the voice was good ofc
@@microfx ahh okay. After a couple of days of Superbooth my ears got used to the wild bleeps and bloops coming from everywhere 🥲
