I have the LX 2012 it is my first ever car bought it at 46,000 miles I know I’ll have this bad boy for a while I drive 70 miles a day so it gets from A to B no problem little over a year I put 15k miles. I Installed a dash cam added some subs just to make the best of what I got . Im very happy with it it’ll be good for another 10+ years
@ I do still have this if I’m gonna be honest the only issues I’ve had is with the tires. The previous owner had 20s which were nice but pot holes were absolutely desecrating my wheels like it was a balloon. Switched down to 16s the recommended haven’t had an issue since. I’ve currently got 85k miles about 80 miles 5 days a week. Fill up maybe once every 4-5 days if you don’t go out or do anything else besides work. Huge tank so it still takes roughly 60-70 at regular gas stations in california but at Costco anywhere from 50-60 last a whole week. She’s a beast no bullshit I have a red key FOB I make people laugh when I tell them I’m about to go drive my Honda hellcat and flash the key 😂😂😂 I also got a pretty rough interest rate with this car. If it was not so reliable and great I would have easily traded this car in or passed it up. Csnt even refinance due to being more then 12 years old. :/ but I’m not worried I’ll have this bad boy forever tbh 😭
Best car ever built right here. May not be flashy, but you'd be hard pressed to find anything with a better balance of reliability, affordability, comfort, and looks. If you're in the market for an A to B car, this generation of accord is hard to beat.
I just bought a 2009, 40th anniversary model here in Australia. It has some bonus specs over the base model such as Bluetooth, rear parking sensors and fog lights. I do long commutes in it and it is perfect for that.👍
The price of used Hondas is 'steeper' than most BECAUSE of the reliability you mentioned - the extra price you spend on a Honda will just be spent on repair bills on any other brand within a years' time is the way I've always looked at it 🤷
2011 exl 2.4 sedan with 227k at this very moment, bought with 105k 7 years ago. only recently had to replace normal wear and tear parts. Most reliable car I have ever had.
@@victorlockett816 change transmission fluid if it hasn't been done recently or if you aren't sure. Use only honda atf. Drain and fill only, do not flush a Honda transmission. Check and change any other fluids and filters if need be. Change spark plugs if needed. Thats really about it. Thats all I did to mine and just kept up with everything. Its at 234k now and still going, though it does burn oil now
My 2012 lx is still going strong!! Og engine and transmission. Ofc ive had to replace the occasional axle or ball joint. But shes just hit 304k miles. She was a graduation gift in 2017 with 72k on the odometer. My eyes tear at the thought of having to part ways... hopefully i have many more miles with her lol.
low oil pressure. as reliable as these cars are with the 2.4, oil burning is definitely an issue. I own a 2011 2.4 with 234k and it recently started this. also worked at a honda dealership in the shop. this is common on this generation. for anyone who owns one or is considering buying one, don't let this discourage you but for the right price just keep an eye on the oil level. which you should be doing with any car regardless......
A back up camera or reverse sensor sound signal should be on these. I have an EX-L V6 and it doesn't have either of those, while cars like a Prius had that as early as 2006-2008. Ridiculous.
Thats surprising that old of a prius has parking sensor. But I agree for the time period it is lacking to say the least I mean my mazdaspeed3 from 2011 was similar in price, but I have auto wipers, navigation, and bluetooth. The accords are really well known for their reliability though
Do the headlights automatically turn off after locking it on an LX-P? Ive seen online that a lot of people are saying that the lights automatically turn off on an LX which is a trim below mines.
Just to correct something: the Acura ZDX is in no way related to the Honda Accord. Although it looks a bit similar to the Crosstour which was based on the Accord, the ZDX shared its platform with the MDX.
You said you wouldn''t recommend at the end and that there are better options. Can you suggest some better options in this class/price range with Honda's reliabiility please?
Bluetooth is equipped in all the EX-L 8th gens. They just don’t stream music from your device. It only connects for phone calls. I own a 2011 Ex-l 6-6 coupe so….
I think this is true for the 2010-2012 models (correct me if I'm wrong). I have a 2009 EX-L i4 Coupe with no Bluetooth option for context. (In North America context)

@FrankShaft Fantastic! Thank you for answering thoroughly, my friend. I'm really like this format of videos (like yours and The Topher) and I've always had a thing for cars so I think I will start my own channel very soon.
Im so glad I have the coupe and not the 4-door, the coupe version is getting rare and going up a bit in value. What a disgrace that honda killed all their two door cars.
Cousins had 1994-1997, so 5th gen, Friends mom had a 2000, and grandparents had a 1998, both of the 6th gen. I've known people with the 2003-2007, 7th gen. And I know plenty with the 8th gen, like you show here. That is an EX-L, EX had cloth. There was LX, LX-P, which was an LX with I believe a power drivers seat an alloy wheels. EX had the cloth and sunroof, EX-L had leather. There was an SE in I think 2012, EX-L no sunroof. Then for the coupe you had LX-S with the EX motor, EX, EX-L and for both sedan and coupe, V6. I think I'd rather have a 2006-2012 Ford Fusion over this.
Purely looks based I'd rather have the accord in this video, but I don't know anything about the fusion and its features lol. Would love to research and review one though
Most of the accords after the 8th gen have CVTs in them which is disappointing. If I was getting a newer car in this style it would be a camry or an acura.
