I applied your tactics to 3rd German league side Dynamo Dresden, including your little tweaks and it works perfectly. Your club may not be my cup of tea, but your videos surely are. 20.000+ subscribers well deserved.
It would also be good to map out the 4-2-3-1 where Kovacic pairs with Rodri. Silva also seems to be sitting as the IW in quite a few games. How that all changes when Haaland and De Bruyne are brought back in will be interesting to watch, especially with how Foden has been playing
Gonna be tough to fit them all in! Think if all fit Kovacic drops put and your midfield 3 is silva, kdb and Rodri with silva and foden switching all the time.
That’s probably the next evolution for FM, allowing players to swap positions repeatedly rather than having to do it via tactics. How Rodri plays is a huge factor - against weaker teams he’s almost playing as a regista - everything goes through him, and defensively he doesn’t have to work as much
Why do you not have play on defence ticked? And im also curious about 'low crosses'. Is it just because its meta, because they will cross it high for haaland sometimes
Hey, Stinger - When building a Man U tactic, an obvious approach is to play Bernardo and KDB together in midfield. Do you care that they both "prefer" to play on the right side? What effect (if any) does this have?
I still see him being attacking. Just maybe not as much as the way he played against Newcastle. Love to see it action though, stones seems to have been out forever
I think if we go back to last season, we saw Walker sitting more as an IFB when Stones was stepping up from RCB. Otherwise there is a huge gap if both Walker and Stones are pushing up on the right. When Akanji played Lib from the LCB, that gave Walker more freedom to push higher. When Gvardiol has been playing DL, both him and Walker have been sitting as WBs to provide width, and Silva/Grealish acting more as IFs I feel. When Doku is playing, Gvardiol tucks in a little more to let Doku run wide.
Love your videos mate - also a Manchester City fan. Curious about a couple of things and wanted to hear your thoughts. I’ve always thought Pep typically likes to build in a 2-3 shape or a 3-2 shape. - A few seasons ago, he was doing the 2-3 shape with Cancelo and Zinchenko inverting into midfield (never Walker as Pep doesn’t think he is technical) - He typically goes with a 3-2 shape as it gives them numbers and structure to prevent counters. He can achieve this in a few different ways with a LB inverting into midfield or the CB stepping up as Libero. In regards to Walker and him pushing forward, seems to be more noticeable when City play with a double pivot (4231 where Rodri and Kovacic play together and Alvarez or Foden as the 10 as seen in the Newcastle or Everton game) Also noticed they typically defend in a 442 in a mid block/high press (depends on opponent) that will usually transition to a 343 diamond or 3241 or 325 depending on the personnel available as you said. Also curious about your choice of Haaland as an Advanced Forward. Would have thought you would go with a Poacher since he doesn’t contribute much to build up play, is focused on scoring goals and mainly stays in the centre channel. Curious about duty selection for Doku/Grealish. Why the choice for attack instead of support? Makes sense as they do tend to go byline quite a lot but they also do tend to pick the ball up at feet instead of in behind like Henry/Eto’o for Barcelona when Pep managed them. They also are quite diligent in tracking back. Rodri is probably the most difficult one to figure out what role he is due to the fact that he is so freaking complete. Likely a Defensive Midfielder on Support this year since he has been getting forward a lot more than in the last couple of years. Gvardiol difficult as well as he does like to get forward but I guess it depends game to game. The roles are very dependent on the players - Kovacic for example is 100% a Roaming Playmaker.
Hi mate Seems to have abandoned the full backs jumping into the pivot in favour of the CBs doing it. I agree theres a misconception that City are purely high press all the time, often, in games against Arsenal for example, it's very much a mid block Attack in FM for wingers just seems to give more of a urge to dribble, which they both do, albeit very different players, in honesty for Grealish WM with Player instructions is probably more accurate as he barely, if ever, crosses. Agree on Rodri, but DLP is a decent option for him too Great analysis mate
@@StingerNeilD hahah tbh I've come to learn a lot from your content, and I believe you'll provide the best method to help us understand. You've got a way with getting your point across without losing your audience... come on r kid
Nice, but if you want to win trophies and be competitive you cannot play with "lower tempo". Let's not fool ourselves, this game works only with gegenpressing... which is extremely annoying. Nice video though, keep up the nice work.
Eye opener. Inspired now to make tweaks to suit my rotation players
Nice! Get to work 🫡
Great work as always! I’ve been waiting for your Pep tactics, knew you wouldn’t let me down 🤣👍

Thank you. Glad to hear you've adapted them well
Walker version could work inverting left and right side? I mean the ‘Walker’ on the left ecc..?
Don't see why not
Ok, individual instruction not in video?

beat arsenal comfortably in the community shield with this 3-0 solid tactic keep it up bro
Nice man, better than I managed 😂🫡
Respect to you bro keep them coming 🔥🔥
would be interesting to see a Rico Lewis variation

Not all team instructions are needed when the players are of high ability
HEY stinger, may I ask what's the tactical style of these three formations?
Built from scratch so clean slate
@@StingerNeilD Thanks, I'll try on that, I'm using gegenpress before.
Could you you counter attack with this style of play ?
Probably not best suited
Whats the tactical style is it tiki taka
Built from clean slate but I guess it could end up similar to that way
Hey, Stinger - When building a Man U tactic, an obvious approach is to play Bernardo and KDB together in midfield. Do you care that they both "prefer" to play on the right side? What effect (if any) does this have?
KDB ideally yes but Silva roams everywhere so he's fine wherever
I like it. As with what. @EDTeo said, i might even spin up a 2nd tactic for my Girona
WB on Attack and FB on Attack, What's the different?
WB basically acts like a winger less emphasis on defence, FB A will still have an emphasis on defending
what about when rico lewis plays
I think Rodri plays as an anchor not a DLP

Love the tactics. Can I ask why you use the balanced mentality?does this change with different opposition?
Helps me keep in control of the passing directness, when I tried the others they were going to direct for my liking
@@StingerNeilD thanks I can’t wait to try it out. I’m guilty of always leaving it positive
can you do a tactic for liverpool?
Loads have done that boss. Loads on UA-cam
@@StingerNeilD true, but i like the way you explain it better and your take on tactics
Wouldnt it be better if bernardo silva is on rpm instead?
He is in one version as explained

This may be a cardinal sin...but can you do one for Manchester United? Especially how to counter Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool
Haha maybe, although I'm sure plenty have done those on UA-cam 👍

A doubt you should try these in the lower leagues then lol. Wish a could with that style of football
Never know if you get some decent ballers
Den Bosch after Salgueiros?
Actually quite tempting
