Likewise. Watching Pep's Barca from his first season there, I immediately loved football even more. The brand of football his teams play is just breath taking and a joy to watch.
My priority has always been Barca and tbh his bayern journey was underrated just becoz he tried to use the same strategy which he used during the domestic league he suffered but winning in different leagues with different strategy is never easy.
At barca, he already had most of the players he needed so Pep doesn't need to sign much. At Bayern, the available players are already good enough (bar a few exception) so Pep need to make a few signings. Meanwhile at City, only a few players can play in Pep's team. So Pep need to offload and sign a lot of players, and by this time, Pep's type of players are either highly rated in the market or are crucial for their team so they had a high pricetags (also, england's transfer is overly bloated)
I was waiting for someone to make this compilation, thank you very much FMS! Means a lot!Guardiola's tactics changed alot after Barca, crossing became the main weapon!Did you Notice the new role of Kevin De bruyne! He plays as a 8,but his responsibilities is to create crosses accross the pitch like Trent Alexander Arnold,TAA works on Wide space, while KDB works on halfspace!Lot of goals came from crossing for City in last two years, the triangle passing has depleted over the time for more counter attacks! Bayern&Barca r best examples for Pep's beautiful football! The principles have remained the same, instruments have changed ❤️
Part of what makes Guardiola a great manager is how he plays to his teams strengths rather than trying to force a round peg into a square hole like certain other "great" managers do
He mostly forced them into his sytem at Bayern, he did some adjustments, but Müller as CM, the Manzucic issue, Götze, Alaba in the middle, the gameplan against Real, 1 vs 1 against Barca...
At Bayern the midfielders look to overload the box to finish off moves from crosses while at city the are the chief creators of chances looking to play in the wingers for the shot on goal Great video keep it up🙌👍
Great general overview. But of course he changed the system a lot. In the first season at Bayern Lahm played full defensive midfielder. From the second season on Bayern often played a back three. And in the third season he came up with things like a 1-2-3-4 formation. :-) I remember him playing 4 wingers at once (Robben, Ribery, Costa, Coman) absolutely steamrolling the opponents. I wonder why is it that Pep seemed to be more experimental at Bayern in the first half of each season and playing more conservative in the second half.
I've watched every player on full matches, I've play'd video-games on top level, and I've noticed that: you should always keep the formation simple and symmetric, only players can change their positions if they are clinical in their other positions, so if you want to become for example a passer from dribbler you can if you are clinical in your role!!! As for me I've play'd a: CB's tackling, passing, shooting position, and a: WF's dribbling, passing, shooting position!!!
Amongst other videos, this video in particular has helped me become very very good on FIFA 21 by emulating a mix of his Manchester City and Bayern tactics with Real Madrid. Thank you.

in barca, Puyol used to stay in the center and then in front of him there was a line of 3: busquets in the middle, pique a little bit to the right and abidal a bit to the left. its not often that we saw busquets having to go back and stay between the two defenders. enless if maxuell was playing, cause he would be were Villa normally played (wide at the left wing) and then with one less player behind to build, busquets wouldnt be so high at the peach like when Abidal plays. thats why some times when Maxuell used to play Guardiola use to put Keita on the game. so that xavi wouldnt have to change his position to much (with busquets between the two defenders xavi would have to go a little bit back on the peach).
All barca need is to replace their left vacant talents like : xavi in the center , neymar and suarez in the forward and one Super Defender . That is all , Barca just needs 4 talents and experienced Coach then it will rule the world another time☝️

He was quite unlucky with injuries there as well. Heck, Bayern as a whole have been unlucky in the past decade with injuries to Robben and Ribery especially in important games. That's why they "only" won 2 Champions Leagues.

If he goes to AC Milan and rebuilds them back, I'll be an happy man. Whats the fun of going to Juventus? Or go to Napoli, they already know good football (not with Gattuso though)
Im also eager to see Pep managing at Serie A. Juve is very keen on signing him for their UCL project but it would be better to see him at AC MILAN and revive that strugling club.
Wonderful video, great and detailed analysis, maybe emphasize more that in barca the Messi-Alves combination was for Messi to go inside the box an Dani open, in Bayern Ribery-Alaba was to Ribery stay open in order to have more one on one, and for Alaba (since he is taller) finish some plays as a "9" inside the box, and in city in both sides the wingers stay really wide in order to create space for the ineriors.
Great video, but I think you underestimate how high City's fullbacks drift up. A lot of times City does look like what you showed with the inverted fullbacks during build up, but as City push higher and higher up the pitch and the opposition is basically forced into crowding their own box, the fullbacks for City get high and even overlap the wingers.
I'd still say , if u don't believe Pep is the best Tactical manager out there since the last decade ? U just a hater , I don't take trophies in account but the playstyle. I want to see Pep managing a team that is more likely a challenger than a winner.. It will be interesting how he will set up the tactics.. A move to Italy, but certainly not to Juve (even though the idea of Pep managing CR7 is really tempting) or Inter, would be very interesting.
@@dkinx-ofshitcoins1942 I mentioned Inter; definitely a top team. The point is, without Pep, the teams he was in charge of are already strong title contenders, both in squad and financial strengths.
He always started with the 4-3-3 that barca played for decades and adjusted it to the players (and played a lot of others sytems). Kinda sad to see the bayern tactics now, because it was obious that thats not the perfact tactic for the players, Müller is not a CM and it never worked, Ribery and Alaba were perfect together on the wing, he always tried to replace mandzukic even so it worked great with him and bad without him and Thiago was never the key player like it was shown here. It was great to see the varieties of tactics in the Bundesliga, for example with Robben as a wing back, but they never had the right tactic against the big teams and it always felt like they had to overcome peps tactic to score a goal. And there was the "let's defend Messi, Suarez and Neymar 1 vs 1" tactic...
Awesome video! And a really eloquent explanation, thank you. Increased my curiosity to learn about football even more, specially after discovering that countries have different traditional styles, i wonder how the match ups look in Champions League. Even though i'm brazilian i never really liked football because i couldn't understand (or it's people, becaused they acted like lunatics), and there were no way to truly inform myself growing up. Guy simply revolutionalised the style Barca uses till date since 2008
Xavi also tryinna implement this these days. Pep is unfortunate with wat is happening at City RN but overall he doesn't "normally" last more than 4 seasons at a club city being his longest stay maybe ideas have dried up but boy whatta team he's made in city since taking over from pellegrinj
Am a proud barça fan.
Edit: some grammatical errors
Opinions are welcome fellow Footy Analysts
Damn today is the first time i spotted this channel and i'm really liking it. Keep up the good work!
What a video. Provided me a lot of useful information about pep's ideas at the begginning of his coach career
Actually Busquets didn't have to drop back when Pep had Abidal ,Puyol and pique fit for a match as Abidal would join as the third centre half
The King of Tactics 💯
I really wonder what would happen if Guardiola went to Italy
If he goes to AC Milan and rebuilds them back, I'll be an happy man. Whats the fun of going to Juventus? Or go to Napoli, they already know good football (not with Gattuso though)
Im also eager to see Pep managing at Serie A. Juve is very keen on signing him for their UCL project but it would be better to see him at AC MILAN and revive that strugling club.
Probably we will see his 3-4-3 making a comeback. :D
@@andreadg5429 because pep always goes to the club with the most money in the league
Pep is scared of challenges. If he goes to Italy he'll go to Juventus or whichever club is the richest at that time
From an aspiring coach, thanks 👍🏾
It helped me in my PES Master League mode, thanks.
Ur the GOAT of analyzing football bruh ❤️
My favorite Pep variation is Bayern. It was Tiki Taka but with a lot of intensity and assertiveness
Thanks for the video, as a City fan enjoyed the analysis 😊👍
I swear he has made ManC a f*kin win machine
His tactics are way Outta world , most of the times his team loses coz of players mistake rather than tactics . The chances he gives to youngsters r another factor.
Actually he is better than zidane and klopp
@@kasrapop Much better. Pep is a genius tactician and one of the biggest influences in modern football
@@kasrapop that's what I believe , 2 years ago , nobody said Klopp's better , they won the ucl n now people been thinking he's this n that. His system is broken now , if he doesn't evolve he won't win .as for Zidane , his first spell was actually very good coz other players also showed n not just Ronaldo but after that he went like Valverde , used Ronaldo like Valverde used Messi . The difference is Ramos ,bale n Benzema showed but nobody stepped up for Barca .
@@thuo1000 well actually , people Hates him coz he spends money 😂 that's the ridiculous reason coz any manager they can name won all the stuff either with star or with money.
Tactical yes definitely but not the most efficient when winning trophies
One of the best Football channels on UA-cam!!
real football genius
Wow!!! Absolutely delightfull video!!!😤🤩
One of the best tactics videos I have seen👍
the best analysis i have ever see..congratz
His Barca was the best football team ever, however, there was something very special aesthetically about the front 6 of Sane Aguero Sterling Silva De Bruyne Fernandinho, so well balanced and complementary
Now this is the video I’ve been looking for, love it 👍
Great content, keep it up, more subs will follow
I actually wouldn't mind a longer video if this is the quality of analysis.
Nice video! Only the left-back is number 5, and the left center-back is number 3.
Tactical flexibility and genius of Gordiola
Fantastic detail well done
Wonderful, really wonderful, loved every bit of this.
Man, Pep Barca was something else.
I want to see Pep managing a team that is more likely a challenger than a winner.. It will be interesting how he will set up the tactics..
A move to Italy, but certainly not to Juve (even though the idea of Pep managing CR7 is really tempting) or Inter, would be very interesting.
I think he can suceed,if ten hag did what he did last season, pep can do it
why shoud we do that. top managers go to top teams. thats why they are top for a reason
@@dkinx-ofshitcoins1942 I mentioned Inter; definitely a top team. The point is, without Pep, the teams he was in charge of are already strong title contenders, both in squad and financial strengths.
@@leinadatidumarp according to your logic why ranieri is not wanted by the likes of barcelona and madrid even though he won with a small teams
But now that i'm trying to become a better athlete and thinker i want to learn from other disciplines.
apt analysis robert
Brilliant analysis. Love the overview...not to much, not to little...free flowing. I coach youth teams, may I ask what graphics program you used to create?
Proper content, definitely look up to this page for inspiration . Also trying to do some similar stuff but for some lesser known leagues and players (rising star stuff).
I don't know if you can do it , but analyzing the underdogs would be something interesting ( like greece winning the euro 2004 / porto 2004....)
I neee this for top eleven
Great content and i like the visual presentation.
nice video! keep it up!
Thanks mate
This man has the most accurate formation ever, more accurate than the graphics from TV.
perfectly explained brother!!
From the in-depth to fit in any Pep's team, esp CM, CDM, and CAM they have to be confident and great passers of the ball.
Excellent, well explained and informative video 👍

Excellent Stuff ... Keep going on👍
Your video is very nice! Could tell which app you use for the animations of the football board? Thanks in advance!
Actually Manu have similar ability with Ederson ( long ball, keeping the ball). And also, Pep was often play with weird formation at Bayern. That's why we got beat up by 3 La Liga teams three years in a row
