I really like the second pendant at the end. It was very beautiful. The love for opals is one that was nurtured from birth. My mom didn’t like diamonds. She thought they were to expensive, and rather plain. She didn’t understand that the more a Diamond looked like a clear piece of glass, the more expensive it was. My dad knowing this, bought a good sized white opal as an engagement ring. Smart man, she said yes. I remember looking at her ring when I was young. Unfortunately she lost it, she lost it just after my dad died. It crushed her, but she is a strong woman , she moved on. Just two months ago, we had a workman fixing a leak in her bathroom, and he asked if she was looking for a lost ring. Funny, I cried more than her when she showed it to me. My wife kidded me about that, but I know how much it meant to her. I didn’t cry so much for the ring, but cried happy tears because I knew how important it was to her. My sister got an Opal as her engagement ring. Dave was a smart man, she said yes too. The two of them did a one year work Visa in Australia. He worked for an Opal miner for a month. The miner let him keep a black Opal he found. So while not the largest Opal, or the most expensive, it’s the most priceless Opal nevertheless. He himself mined it, he helped shape it and he designed the perfect ring setting. What a complete bastard, how can the rest of us compete with that. Lol. He’s a good man, a great father and he loves my sister so very, very much. What else can you ask for in a brother in-law. FYI. My wife doesn’t like Opals, so I was smart, I bought a Diamond, she said yes. Lol
