    Tips:
    - listen to Minor Swing by Django
    - think in terms of arpeggios instead of scales and follow the chord chart
    - land on the 6th more often than not (works both for minor and major arpeggios)
    - try to develop said arpeggios diagonally rather than vertically
    - listen to Minor Swing

Easily the most important and hardest part of gypsy jazz is the hard swing rhythm playing, Tyler does a great job on touching on the lead ideas but for the authentic rhythm style listen to Django Reinhardt playing “Coquette” and “Django’s Castle”. Joscho Stephan is also one of the best gypsy jazz players today.

Indeed this is “gypsy music” take it from a a real gypsy my family game to the us in the late 30s/ early 40s in ww2 and I can tell you this is gypsy music, am E and Dm are pretty much the only chords we use but my friends if you want a real taste in are cultures music go on UA-cam and search “ Gypsy singing sam” he’s are version of the Americans Elvis and then go listen to the “gypsy bosso”
If you listen to that you’ll have a better understanding for the rhythm and lead guitar in real authentic gypsy music

I’m liking the lesson vids more and more, but the humor’s great too. Come for the licks, stay for the laughs? Or is it the other way around in reverse?
Noticed the RC-1 looper. Aren’t they great? I have the RC-3 but sometimes wish I had the simplicity of the RC-1 (and that lighted loop display is sorely missed on mine - sometimes simpler *is* better). I do dig the drum samples in mine though. Ugh I’m rambling. See what ya make me do? Lol, in a good way though.
