Lyrics Come waste your millions here Secretly she sneers Another corporate show A guilty conscience grows And I'll feel a guilty conscience grow And I'll feel a guilty conscience grow She burns like the sun And I can't look away And she'll burn our horizons Make no mistakes Come let the truth be shared No one ever dared to break These endless lies Secretly she cries She burns like the sun And I can't look away And she'll burn our horizons Make no mistakes And I'll hide from the world Behind a broken frame And I'll run forever I can't face the shame And I'll hide from the world Behind a broken frame And I'll run forever I can't face the shame
I always have to listen to this song on full volume. I know it's bad for ear drums but it does give me the chills, as if muse were singing just behind me
This woman is having a mental breakdown simply because one of the greatest bands of all time is playing in her mirror! If it was me, I’d be rocking out like nothing was wrong! I’d even ask them (when they were done) “Hey, wanna get a cup o’ tea? My dad makes the best tea!”
Come waste your millions here, secretly she says Another corporate show, a guilty conscience grows And I'll feel a guilty conscience grow And I'll feel a guilty conscience grow She burns like the sun, and I can't look away She'll burn our horizons, make no mistake Come let the truth be shared, no one ever dared To break these endless lies, secretly she cries She burns like the sun, and I can't look away She'll burn our horizons, make no mistake And I'll hide from the world behind a broken frame And I'll burn forever, I can't face the shame And I'll hide from the world behind a broken frame And I'll burn forever, I can't face the shame
They have never been a copy about any other band; they showed up with a different strength and array right away. I can't stand those who think Muse came out of Radiohead style. My standpoint is that Muse took mainly inspiration by considering previous albums and tunes, something akin to the mainstream followed in the '90s but getting recognized as a new and independent band as well. The only thing I might stick to is the creation of a pop/piano shape over their debut album (it's why most people keep assessing them in that way); listening to Absolution you run into a more personal style, you walk away from their outset and you may spot the newer ideas and shoves whilst you get Hysteria or Butterflies and hurricanes. No one might have made up any akin song, thus you think out a different quote about the latter combinations: a mighty pressure of heavy metal and electro referred to Hysteria where the bass holds the main success key. Anyhow I acknowledge a chunk of their abilities was thrown away when they gave vent to the commercial stream by the release of The Resistance, right after having listened to their latest albums you begin missing them so much! What a wonderful band! Rock and electro were stirred in such a catchy and mad way that Radiohead couldn't make it. No hatred towards Yorke!
I disagree, if you listen to interviews with the band and actually listen carefully the influences of Jeff Buckley are far clearer. Tom Yorke goes for a very low key, spoken word style of vocals, Matt is far more operatic.
after all the years, this might still be my favourite Muse song. I remember listening to it for the first time and thinking "I've never heard anything like this before"
I'll probably be like the opposite as I'll be like "Can you please get the feck out of my room?" As much as I love Muse, as a straight man I wouldn't want to have them in my room otherwise things would get very awkward.
@@mauriciom5555 What are you talking about? Muse is Indie rock, experimental rock in other words. Each album has a different tone and feel to it and they do what they feel. Their style has always been that. Not a specific sound from Showbiz or OoS
Everyone's talking about the ungrateful girl and her Muse mirror but imagine being the kid... sitting at home on a Friday night with your babysitter, she stands up and walks away for a while, you suddenly hear her make some weird noises and finally a crash of shattering glass over the sounds from the TV, and you walk in your parents' room to find their mirror broken and your babysitter stuck in it. How the heck do you explain this one to your parents when they get home? The babysitter is gone but no one's ever gonna believe your story of why. You yourself won't believe it as you get older, instead finding ways to rationalize it as a strange dream or fantasy. You fell asleep on the couch watching TV, maybe, and the babysitter just dipped. You were very young, after all.

Every now and then I have a 'Muse binge' on UA-cam. And even though some of their songs are absolutely brilliant, like Sunburn, I get terribly fed up with Matt's voice after like four songs... Got that same feeling with Manic Street Preachers. But just to be clear: Muse has been a great band and Showbiz is a downright awesome album.
The band was trapped in the mirror so they had to lure the girl to help get them out. Which was to break the mirror just like they did before. So now she's trapped
Cute. But what i got out of it was that the girl had some type of traumatic past experience, went upstairs and committed suicide. Then the boy came and found her lifeless body in the room, hence her ghost in the mirror. Thats why he says "I'll hide from the world, behind a broken frame." Because shes trying to mask her depression, but her window to the world seems broken. She was probably raped or abused, thats why she tried on the pearl necklace, but even that couldnt help her insecurity. So she took her own life because she "cant face the shame..." But yeah, maybe the band was just trapped in the mirror lol
Muse, creeping in kids' mirrors since 1999.
😂😂😂
@E Patrick XD
Lol.. classic
@Evan Patrick same tho
4 years later and i still cackle at this
That's why you don't say muse 3 times in the mirror

The track Showbiz is my fourth favourite Muse song.
Blasphemy! Showbiz is extraordinary up and down. You're literally insane lol
Showbiz is my favourite album, and sunburn is my favourite song.

24 years today of the realize of this masterpiece
Literally no clue how anyone could think their first album was a Radiohead mimic after listening to this.
They have never been a copy about any other band; they showed up with a different strength and array right away. I can't stand those who think Muse came out of Radiohead style. Exactly! Well said :)
Michele Di Meglio Matthew Bellamy is influenced greatly buy radiohead (thom yorke's vocal style) But i do agree not a mimic.
I disagree, if you listen to interviews with the band and actually listen carefully the influences of Jeff Buckley are far clearer. Tom Yorke goes for a very low key, spoken word style of vocals, Matt is far more operatic.
I'd have to agree, mainly because I am a Muse fan but not a Radiohead fan (very unusual, I know, but entirely true, nevertheless!).
I always get so nervous when the girl starts shattering the mirror. Like the fuck are you doing, Muse is in your mirror! D:
The Phandom is everywhere!
Hello! :D

If anybody after that would washed my hand or high-fived me,HE WOULD DIED.

have u seen the Dan and Phil video for this?!
This is the most beautiful song I've ever heard.
Muse depresses the shit out of me, but i love it.
wow same
They depress but they also cure depression. Just a crazy cycle really lol

Matt always reminds me of Edward Scissorhands a bit in this video, haha.
craffertyful Yeah, that pale, vampire-like face, and dark messy hair!. :D only the scissor hands are missing. :D
Trillyke No way, I'm glad Matt doesn't have scissor hands! Otherwise, how else will he be the god-like rockstar we know today?
Rose Xing Lol, you are right! :DD It would be quite difficult to play the guitar with them. :D
Trillyke He'll end up cutting the strings and scratching the keys!
Rose Xing And probably still manage to make it sound fantastic!
One of the most underrated songs ever. The only song that can put me into astral)
This song is a literal masterpiece!
THIS IS MY FAVOURITE MUSE SONG!!!
This are the muse I love
This song literally changed my life.
That drum beat is fucking awesome
1:47- She takes out her hair tie
2:01- Her hair tie is back in.
2:13- Her hair ties is out again.
Wow
loooooooool
Shhhhhhhh
3:28 - She's not in the room anymore.
Alejandro Goñi Rovirosa she's in the mirror
the pain in matt bellamy's voice at 2:57 is so beautiful i can't get over it
01:19 matt looks like a fucking dark angel idk i love him
from 2023.. still love all song from Muse...24 years and still counting...💜
I want them in my mirror like that
If muse appeared in my room,I wouldn't cover my ears,I would just jump around and go like "WOO-HOOO"!!!!!!!!!Lol!
And in the comments,What's with all the meows?
I'll probably be like the opposite as I'll be like "Can you please get the feck out of my room?" As much as I love Muse, as a straight man I wouldn't want to have them in my room otherwise things would get very awkward.
Sin duda esta canción es una de las más infravaloradas de Muse
Y de las más geniales que tienen en su discografía
How many Musers still listening this in 2021 ?
Muse💋👍👍👍

“I’ll hide from the world behind a broken frame”
…….now I get it.
The piano line... gives me a chill. Always. From the first time I hear it, around 8 years ago
Fantastic song, fantastic clip, fantastic Muse...!!!!!
I too am haunted by the band randomly appearing in my room.
I am praying they will just appear one day
So, you too steal stuff while babysitting?
And my parents had the same curtains/I still have/and I still have Muse's early shit.
i love this song so ducking much
Ok, I'm 40 and discovered this gem late. Curious about finding a music video, and what I see is that young Bellamy could have acted as the Sandman :D
Still a banger in 2021 ☺️👍🏻
Switching from this to Panic Station is very weird.
wtf I also just listened to Panic Station right before coming to this video XD
I came here from the handler
Because Muse isn't amazing anymore, Muse was insanely amazing when they do this, they lost his style, his footprint!!

It's 2018 and this song still fits the current era, which says a lot about the compatibility of this song to any time or day.
The best song of MUSE the piano, guitar,Matt♥
Luv your picture, my personal favorite album, coming from the creator's perspectiv :-)
Only the weak react like that if Matthew appears in your bedroom.Everyone knows you're supposed to take off your clothes...
Ew...don't say that.
I'm joking obviously
I'd wager that she was referring to the "rapist" comment. Don't worry, you're free to resume the un-clothing.
TheMrCrabbit Yeah, I wasn't directing that at the original poster. Sorry about the confusion. Have a nice today and happy Musing.
+TheMrCrabbit ahh cool thanks x
Just realize that Sunburn has an official music video
This is the kind of sunburn nobody minds getting
always coming back for that guitar part 1:14
I wish they were in my mirror too

Magic hair! 1:47 Hair untied. 2:03 Hair tied. 2:14 Hair untied. I love you Muse, you don't give a toss about such mundane things as continuity.
I had forgotten this beautiful song. Damn it feels good listening to it again...

Particularly by his overwhelmingly repetitive, moaning, sustained notes. It gets annoyingly gimmicky after a few songs.
