The fact they don’t play this song in concert anymore is crazy. Easily one of their best songs.
It would be a great opener
@@RobertSoul123 maybeb because they only had success in england in their 4th album they avoid playing songs from the album that it was said is just like radiohead , but the france success kept them alive after this LP the orygin of simetry and the live ost from the movie concert in france hullaba...i forget some things i´m ...old?no one told me but i guess i´m getting less years compared to the one i already lived or passed by
Very true
it's like oldest songs are trashed when new album comes out:) this song was my favorite play on acoustic and people would just shut up and listen to it.

The piano at the start is so underrated it's painful
The song is great because of the piano
now that the simulation theory is out, that album piano sounds a lot like this one
Not really underrated. See tout s'accélère - la smala
I need 1 hour version 4 piano
Ok but why is noone talking about the Pacman intro. It's almost the same melody
Still currently my favorite Muse song. The way the soft melody of the piano combines with the more rough guitar chords just makes for an incredible audio experience when paired with Matt Bellamy's brilliant vocals.
someone put it into words
Nadine E me toooo¡¡¡
Nadine E **sharp whisper** your profile picture isn't allowed in Muse Fangirl territory!!!!!!!
Rhiannon Grimes *sharp whisper back* I will do as I please and if that entails this profile pic, then so shall it be.
Nadine E XD fine
Muse, creeping in kids' mirrors since 1999.
😂😂😂
@E Patrick XD
Lol.. classic
@Evan Patrick same tho
4 years later and i still cackle at this
I would be delighted to have muse in my mirror
Also.....
Me too!!!
every one!!!
ikr!
tina1232123 Wouldn't we all?
So you're telling me it's not everyone's dream to have young Matt Bellamy show up randomly and serenade them with his legendary guitar skills?
Piano part is exceptional.
Guitar part is insane. Try to search a 1999 live version the fingers on the instrument are blurred. Such an amazing musician.
I love how Matthew respects the piano and can integrate it brilliantly into a rock song.
he is classically trained @soysaucehairdye7869 and it shows. a lot of people don't know that.
One of the most underrated rock songs from the 90s
I love how at 1:24 Chris and Dom just walk in like "Bruh we're here what did we miss?"
Matt: not much but it's just getting started
HAHAHAHA😂😂😂
That's why you don't say muse 3 times in the mirror
That's exactly what I'm going to do! xD
i'm trying that omg XD
do you think it works with FoB and David Tennant?

Lyrics
Come waste your millions here
Secretly she sneers
Another corporate show
A guilty conscience grows
And I'll feel a guilty conscience grow
And I'll feel a guilty conscience grow
She burns like the sun
And I can't look away
And she'll burn our horizons
Make no mistakes
Come let the truth be shared
No one ever dared to break
These endless lies
Secretly she cries
She burns like the sun
And I can't look away
And she'll burn our horizons
Make no mistakes
And I'll hide from the world
Behind a broken frame
And I'll run forever
I can't face the shame
And I'll hide from the world
Behind a broken frame
And I'll run forever
I can't face the shame
THIS BASS LINE IS A MASTERPIECE....
This is just. Oh my god. This is perfect. Why doesn't this music get played on the radio? It's 100 times better than most of the shit on it.
Search for online radio stations dude ^^
well said !!
I'm so agree !
Josh Gilbert Best comment on a video ever
Thankfully there are stations that play Muse... But only a select few...
I love how Matt said he refused to change his pitch voice when the company demanded. It made a whole difference in the music he makes ♡
Where did he say that?
@@ChilledfishStickMaverick, their record label at the time, wanted them to get rid of the falsetto in Plug in baby and other songs. At the time, the US was all about nu metal and low voices in rock, and Matt’s singing style was the complete opposite. Muse refused, resulting in Origin of Symmetry not getting released in America until 2005, after they switched to Warner. You can probably find this in Muse’s wiki.
@@nerea4327 Found it in the Origin of Symmetry Wiki. Thanks.
The piano is hypnotic, let alone the entire song... I love it
The first song off their first album. I listened to this on the Ear Phones they had in HMV(?) back in 99. I bought the album immediately for about 10 pounds. I've never looked back.

I just tried it and the chorus scared the shit outta me 😂 too loud for me, thanks!
11 de setembro?
It's the Gods music
"Mom, we lost another babysitter in the mirror."
p.s. Muse's best song ever. the piano work is frickin' brilliantly catchy throughout.
The second "I'll hide from the world" its one of the greatest music moments ever
2:55
“I’ll hide from the world behind a broken frame”
…….now I get it.
No one can change my opinion - first and second albums are the best things have ever happened in the history of the rock\alternative music. I have some rights to say that because I have been listening this wondefull music of these guys for 20 years! Thank you guys for making me cry, laugh and feel happy!
It,s right
I just like 2 or 3 songs in Showbiz, OoS and Absolution are just masterpieces...
Ok Computer?
No computer involved.. hmm. Beautiful music is right here, never mind :)
Accurate. Showbiz and origin of symmetry were life changing for me. Im glad to have found them all those years ago
Yeah maybe ok computer is up there too but I get you 👌
24 years today of the realize of this masterpiece
Literally no clue how anyone could think their first album was a Radiohead mimic after listening to this.
They have never been a copy about any other band; they showed up with a different strength and array right away. I can't stand those who think Muse came out of Radiohead style. My standpoint is that Muse took mainly inspiration by considering previous albums and tunes, something akin to the mainstream followed in the '90s but getting recognized as a new and independent band as well. The only thing I might stick to is the creation of a pop/piano shape over their debut album (it's why most people keep assessing them in that way); listening to Absolution you run into a more personal style, you walk away from their outset and you may spot the newer ideas and shoves whilst you get Hysteria or Butterflies and hurricanes. No one might have made up any akin song, thus you think out a different quote about the latter combinations: a mighty pressure of heavy metal and electro referred to Hysteria where the bass holds the main success key. Anyhow I acknowledge a chunk of their abilities was thrown away when they gave vent to the commercial stream by the release of The Resistance, right after having listened to their latest albums you begin missing them so much! What a wonderful band! Rock and electro were stirred in such a catchy and mad way that Radiohead couldn't make it. No hatred towards Yorke!
Exactly! Well said :)
Michele Di Meglio Matthew Bellamy is influenced greatly buy radiohead (thom yorke's vocal style) But i do agree not a mimic.
I disagree, if you listen to interviews with the band and actually listen carefully the influences of Jeff Buckley are far clearer. Tom Yorke goes for a very low key, spoken word style of vocals, Matt is far more operatic.
I'd have to agree, mainly because I am a Muse fan but not a Radiohead fan (very unusual, I know, but entirely true, nevertheless!).
I'll be honest, I'm not a big Showbiz fan, but I absolutely love this track and Muscle Museum.
PsychicHorse Unintended? that shiz is great
The track Showbiz is my fourth favourite Muse song.
Blasphemy! Showbiz is extraordinary up and down. You're literally insane lol
Showbiz is my favourite album, and sunburn is my favourite song.
Yoooo, is no one gonna mention falling down? It's probably one of my top three, absolutely amazing!
But wouldn't you just love Muse to be in your mirror?
Not if you didn't know who the fuck they were...three strange men in your mirror lol nope
MrHellohowdoyoudo12 If the play music like this and they aint behind me why should I give a fuck? Id just have an amazing radio mirror concert thing. That'd be sick
yeah well have fun getting sucked into a mirror
I wouldn't break it, Id pull up a chair and listen
Hell yeah
Feels good to come back to this song.
Yesss
I myself have recently come back to all of MUSE just to introduce my new girlfriend to it, and doing that has taken on a life all its own.
Unlike some people, I just adore the old Muse and the new Muse at the same time. Every single song they've ever made is just, perfect. And this is one of my favorites too.

It's not her room. The family she's babysitting for have the Matt Bellamy alarm system. Never fails. Why injure a thief when you can emotionally scar them for life?
THE BASS MELODY IS SO CATCHY
This woman is having a mental breakdown simply because one of the greatest bands of all time is playing in her mirror! If it was me, I’d be rocking out like nothing was wrong! I’d even ask them (when they were done) “Hey, wanna get a cup o’ tea? My dad makes the best tea!”
This is probably Muse’s coolest song they have, and easily my favorite.
Showbiz is definitely a great album.
This could be my favourite Muse song! Sure they developed after their first album but this song is so intense and powerful and just perfect as it is. The vocals are haunting. Masterpiece.

This song is huge inspiration! It perfectly combines piano's elegancy with instruments which may seem incompatible (drums, electric guitars...)
The piano's melody is catchy and sophisticated, and the singer's vocals are amazing
And the way they play their instruments with so much energy...
I just love this song and all those which are in this album
she doesn't realise how lucky she is to have a private muse concert in her mirror
No matter what can happen in my life, this band is, and will forever be in my heart..
I mean, I'm just so glad they exist... Thanks Muse, for being SO amazing!
There's not any word that express what i feel about this song . The piano , the guitar , the bass , the drums , the video and the voice. For me its just a perfect song , i don't feel anything missing. Their emotions are deep , so deep that touch me just like it's real life. I'm amazed
after all the years, this might still be my favourite Muse song. I remember listening to it for the first time and thinking "I've never heard anything like this before"
For me it was a mad scramble to find out who the band was when this tune came over the radio 1999. You should have seen the look the guy behind the counter in Our Price gave me when I tried humming it to him!
lol
Man I was only 5 back then. I wish I could've "witnessed" them during the beginning of their career
***** I was 1 haha
But what was the conclusion of your little Muse karaoke session bennymutant? Was it a victory in the end?
Danny A Eventually I got on a new invention at the time, "dial-up internet" and tracked it down by typing some of the lyrics on a computer.......my gosh I'm old!
the pain in matt bellamy's voice at 2:57 is so beautiful i can't get over it
Such amazing musicians! Really love the classical influnce in their songs!
This is the most beautiful song I've ever heard.
This is one of my favourite Muse songs, love the vocals (as always) and the melody during the verses is a really nice contrast to the chorus.
This has always been one of my favourites. I got into muse during Hullabaloo/origin and naturally bought their previous album... something very addictive about the early eras of Muse... so much emotion and "fuck you , this is our sound"
incredible they have literally have no bad songs
One of the most underrated songs ever. The only song that can put me into astral)
I've always knew that MUSE is the Best Band in the Universe
One word. Masterpiece.
I'm a huge phandom member.
But I'm kind of annoyed because almost all the people who came to watch this video is talking about how they hear the meows of Phil and stuff like that. I mean, this is such a beautiful song and they can't appreciate it.
(Please, it is just an opinion. Don't hate on me)
Preach i was actually considering changing my profile picture bc people are not taking me seriously, as I am a phantom member, and "the only reason you listen to them is bc phan" like I actually got into them way before I started watching Dan and Phil and I am a really big fan of their band. I just saw them live two weeks ago and it made my fucking year. Sorry for the rant I'll leave now
Thnks Fr Th Taco I totally get you, I actually got into Phan because of Muse. And I'm not saying that just because you're a phan you are not appreciating the song, I was referring to the other members that comment stuff like the ones that I said before, and they are the reason why so many people think the Phandom is dumb.
People also don't take me seriously because I am a Phan.
Have a lovely day ^^
(Once again, this is just an opinion)
i actually changed my profile picture bc of the same thing dude

If Muse appears on my room, I won't cover my ears, I would jam with them

You don't want me in your mirror singing trust me
This song is a literal masterpiece!
One of the bands that changed my mind about the rock music genre, I used to think that rock music didn't have Mondays. Now I know why they always scream when they sing it🥀
His voice at 2:57, clearly giving it everything!
It's kinda sad Showbiz album is like the neglected first bone? Probably because people compare its sound so hard to the other band that they barely perform Showbiz songs today. I assume because they're just so young at that time, couldn't fully control the direction in the studio, being driven by the producer/label. They couldn't help because they just started to live their dream as a band to make an album.
I personally respect Showbiz. I love Sunburn, Muscle Museum, Filip, Showbiz, Escape, Unintented. Even the B-side: Spiral Static, Ashamed, Nishe, Forced In, Jimmy Kane, Minimum.
Showbiz really gives them the strongest foundation to explore their talents as musicians/live performers. There won't be Origin Of Symmetry, Absolution etc without Showbiz. There won't be Muse as the magnificent force on live stage without Showbiz.
So thank you for being exist, Showbiz.
1- Showbiz album sounds nothing like other bands lol
2-Muse sounds nothing like other bands
3-They dont play this album cause matt says it makes him sad
I love Showbiz

Sin duda esta canción es una de las más infravaloradas de Muse
Y de las más geniales que tienen en su discografía
She seems to really hate muse.
She's probably a Coldplay fan, most Coldplay fans are like this when they hear Muse.
+Jonathan Richards Because they can't handle talent?
I'm big fan of both
id be buzzing If muse appeared in my room
They both have the annoying fan-girl crowds associated with them a bit, but Coldplay is much worse for it and Muse has a really unique style and some fucking awesome songs like, this, Knights of Cydonia etc.
Coldplay is pop-music whereas Muse is more traditional rock, they remind me of a mix of bands like Yes and Rush but with a big shift towards electronica and experimental riffs in their music a bit like Radiohead.
the intro is sooo beautiful and his voice sine is incredible..
I always get so nervous when the girl starts shattering the mirror. Like the fuck are you doing, Muse is in your mirror! D:

It's 2018 and this song still fits the current era, which says a lot about the compatibility of this song to any time or day.

Me❤️
I haven't listened to this song in so long, and I looked at the title in fond nostalgia. I decided to revisit my past, only to be getting with the reason I stopped listening. I used this song in a talent show, and I was excited. I had practiced, and was usually outspoken and charismatic - also, there were no winners, it was just a display; and with that I had confidence. As I stepped to the microphone, the darkness penetrated by dim lights on my face, my eyes panned out to the audience. Of course, with it being a smaller school, I managed to depict every face of judgement and the song began. I was shaken and I missed the first note, unable to pick it back up. At this point I was mumbling the lyrics while trying to improvise a suitable harmony until I could rejoin the song, but I ran off.
I ran because I remembered a night years ago where I do proudly belted to my dad and his wife "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". I was proud and silly, after all I was a child, but still critiqued. I was told I tried too hard, that I lacked appeal, that I wasn't good enough. I never again sang in front of anyone. Perhaps I was a brat, my whole life before was with my grandmother who had indulged everything I did. Praised every stroke of a crayon, scrawl of words, and note I sang. Needless to say, I was crushed.
I had a glimmer of hope. There was the support of my grandma, my music teacher, my friends, and once upon a time, me; but I failed.
This is where I hold my embarrassment. I let one opinion affect me by taking control. I let myself down by walking away. I let my friends down by ignoring my promises that I would do it. I let my music teacher down by turning away from her help. I let my grandma down because I wasn't brave.
If you're reading this, be comfortable with yourself. I still have to work on it, but I'm working at the very least. No one should rule over your life, your beliefs, and who you ultimately are. Whoever's still reading this, I wish you the best.
tolong lukis, tulis panjang² sape nk bace ?
I hope you do realize your comment strikes at the very heart of what this song is about.
Ok, I'm 40 and discovered this gem late. Curious about finding a music video, and what I see is that young Bellamy could have acted as the Sandman :D
I see that! He really could have. (I'm 28.)
