Woman here. Thanks for the reminder of the need for discipline and self control even for women too. It's something I need to work on.

You are so right, I think integrity and loyalty! I been in church all my life I’m 59, the worst thing about men in church is touching boys and rape, self control! Christian men have did really criminal things to me and I turn them down! Men just keep victim blaming so they are not being accountable!

Yes! I totally support the renaming and talking about how to live for God, do His will, and to put God first before godly dating. Thank you. We(me) need the encouragement.

Can we also talk about how the #1 deciding factor in divorce is financial issues. God intended for us to have financial dominion in our lives. If you cannot financially support yourself, you are not ready for marriage. We as a church can also encourage financial maturity because I notice a lot of men do not have that compared to women in church today. There seems to be a lack of ambition.

Internationally the church really has failed men. It actually makes it hard for women like me to educate male youth concerning the faith because how lax the system is.

Brotha can’t we delve deeper into how the church failed men outside of modesty. You made type of video like 4 times. I know it’s important issue but there are so many other ways the church can help support men outside of telling them about modesty.

If you’ve noticed he’s said the same thing in videos 4 times then there’s clearly something you’ve been looking for to be said or expanded on. Maybe provide some suggestions on topics you may be interested in?

The Bible addresses women specifically when it comes to modesty because they knew women were far more likely to be immodest. The church doesn’t address men for this because men and women are different. Tavares come from this mindset that men and women are exactly the same. Men are more likely to struggle with certain sins, and women are more likely to struggle with other sins.

@@Jayar_while it is true that a number of verses dedicated towards women regarding the topic of modesty there are several scriptures that are addressed to everyone, including men. I think it's more so linked to the overarching topic of purity which, in my personal opinion, does include modesty and in this area men definitely falter.

@@dahliaherrod4301 This can be true, but in the larger picture women will always be more prone to immodesty as far as dress goes. Tavares can point out an exception to the rule all he wants, but it doesn’t change the fact that women need to be taught this more than men bc they’re more predisposed to this specific sin.

@@Jayar_ Well actually the modesty the Bible talks about is economic modesty.( 1 Timothy 2:9-10) Paul’s version of modesty has absolutely nothing to do with causing men to lust or even about the shapes of women’s bodies, but everything to do with women dressing to look rich. One of the big issues in the early church was a class divide. Rich people didn’t tend to associate with poorer people. So if women came into church wearing expensive jewelry and expensive hair styling, they would make others feel excluded. And Paul didn’t want anyone to feel excluded!
Paul wanted Timothy to fight against false teaching. His letter is really about how to set up a church that honours God and doesn’t spread false teaching or come into disrepute, but instead spreads the gospel. Hence all the references to being an apostle-he wants others to hear the good news. So the concern that Paul has here with regards to modesty is that the way that women are dressing may be turning people away from the message of Christ. Paul talks in 1 Timothy 2:3 about how God “wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.” That’s the context for this verse-let’s make sure that people get to know God and are saved.
